Dear Chestnut

did you know that the most popular and traditional things we ate these days in spain are chestnuts and sweet potatoes?
we celebrate Todos los Santos / Tots Sants,
or Día de los Muertos.
i made a chestnut doll long ago, i love this fruit so much!
although i love them just roasted, so easy and yummy,
i love to include them in other recipes,
here are some ideas i've found on the net.
in catalonia you can find some typical small stalls selling
fresh chestnuts and sweet potatoes toasted in the fire, it smells so cosy.
it always reminds me to my childhood,
we use to draw those street stalls at school.
autumn is so beautiful!

es tiempo de castañas,
con lo que me gustan!
no sé si habíais visto mi muñeca María Castaña,
siempre me hizo gracia el cuento de María Castaña.
aunque me gustan mucho tostadas al horno,
he buscado algunas recetas bien ricas donde son las protagonistas,
tengo que probarlas!!
y buscando buscando me he topado con fotos y dibujos de los puestos de las "castanyeras",
en barcelona todavía quedan algunos,
da gusto pasear con ese olor a castañas y a leña, cuando ya anochecido.
me encantan los dibujos de niños,
me recuerdan las que dibujábamos en clase, son super entrañables.
bueno, espero que disfrutéis mucho comiendo castañas y boniatos
a la luz de las velas, y en buena compañía :)

me ha dado cosa pincharla...
siempre he pensado que esto de bordar tiene un punto siniestro y sádico.
y qué me decís de estas máscaras de brujas,
increíbles.
ellas también os desean una terrorífica noche de halloween!
me encantan estas fiestas tan siniestrillas :)
