The year as we knows it, starts today. Well, according to the chinese calendar, that is.

I am proud to say that i have successfully completed my yearly spring cleaning project - to completely clean a part of my room the day before chinese new year.

If you can recall, last year was to clear out the toys in my wardrobe and the year before, my drawers.

  

This year's project was my study table. Before cleaning, i had stacks of books and papers, unread newspapers enough to sell to garang guni, stationery all over and many other random stuff like face masks, wet tissues, shower stuff... lol. have no clue why they're there either. Basically my table is my store room and if u ask me what color was my table, i'll have to make a guess. Ahem. Anyway, it is all cleared now and i am happily typing this on my sparkling clean desk. :D

By the looks of my room now, i think next year's project should be my wardrobe again.

wow. can't believe the last time i blogged was more than half a year ago. time really flies. as the year draws to a close, a review of year 2012 is inevitable. :P i shall list a top 10 favourite moments of year 2012 in no particular order.

1. Graduation! Admittedly, the ceremony feels exactly how it is - merely a ceremony rather than 'i graduated!' kind of liberation. But it's still a good cause for celebration and meet ups, definitely marking itself as a milestone to remember.

2. What comes after graduation? Graduation trip! Fellow ASEAN country, Cambodia was the choice location for the budget conscious, history buff and adventurous us.

3. Celebrations of all sorts with colleagues.Well... I never really had permanent collegues. Lol.

4. Picking up refereeing for pool.
Something which i have always wanted to explore since knowing i sucked at the game. lol. Well, grade C referee now. Working towards grade B in 2013 (:

5. Got selected to be featured in the group publication as someone who 'excel in a sport'.
I always have low self-esteem when it comes to pool. And excel is definitely not a word i would describe myself. So i felt really honored to be selected. There are many really outstanding others who would prefer to keep a low profile and declined the feature. Shall relish in my narcissist moment when the paragraph is out.

6. Got a job
It may seem like a weird thing to classify this as a favourite moment but as someone who lives and breathes stability, this is definitely it.

7. Ccs helping darling with schoolwork and doting her.
It's just heartwarming

8. Birthday celebration with the econs gang @ goodwood park hotel & eating food cooked by them together.
I love get-togethers. Especially when it is potluck. It makes the occasion even more special and sweeter

9. Dad watching shows on his new China version of ipad while watching tv at the same time. And denying it. Or saying he's left with only 1 or 2 more episodes to go when my mom nagged him to go sleep.
So cute. lol.

10. Mom whining about not having enough time to study. Then 5 mins later she's in front of the tv watching shows. Or kapo-ing about my sister at her laptop. Or insisting she print/bind her notes nicely before studying *rolls eyes*

2013, i am ready for you.

gradually i begin to weigh less on my so-called productive weekends. and it shifted towards who and how i spend that time with. at the end of all, it boils down to the idea of importance to the heart beyond learning and earning.

i cannot accept things being done at snail pace and inefficiently. but now i spend the whole of my saturday morning cooking with my dad, making the process of cooking much slower than if done by him alone. am really super amateur at all the slicing dicing stuff. and today, almost the whole afternoon and evening with ccs and his family - even if it's just doing nothing but looking at the jackpot screen whilst they were playing. time becomes more precious and i have to choose wisely.

hence i start to appreciate the use of smartphone WITH data plan in keeping contact with people and things you can't spend as much face time with relatively. lol.
