Embark for flight

Here is the first ATC that I made with plans to enter into Happy Litter Stampers' April ATC challenge... however, it did not go as planned.  Since I left it on my desk for two days, it has grown on me, but I still like the OTHER ONE better.

Supplies and notes:
  • Old 7 Gypsies (I think) tag from a Rolodex-type set they had years and years ago, pre printed
  • I used my hand-carved butterfly stamp with Distress Embossing Ink abd clear embossing powder
  • The background is Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Crayon smeared with water and my finger
  • The wings were painted with Spiced Marmalade Distress Paint and scribbled on with Black Soot Distress Crayon, which caught on the embossed area nicely
  • Tim's Chitchat stickers
I have to say, none of this was the plan, but it is done now.

I'll share this at the following challenges:

Happy Little Stampers ATC

This is the second ATC I made for the current Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge, but it is my fave and therefore the first one I'll be posting-- possibly the only one of I run out of time today!

Supplies:
  • The base is about 10 years old, and I believe it was from a 7 Gypsies packet, but the packaging is long gone.
  • I stamped the base with a hand-carved stamp in Ranger Archival in Jet Black
  • Then coated the card with Distress Collage Medium: Crazing
  • Once dry, I attempted to ink within the cracks using Distress Stains but it really didn't penetrate to the card surface, so I went with Distress Crayons in Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon.
  • Stickers are Tim's Chitchat stickers
That's about it! I'll share this at the following:

Write your story

I thought about my mother-in-law as I made this-- she was an author, and she inspired many others during her life as an English teacher and through her books-- most notably the first book which was a memoir... of sorts.  I've mentioned her many times, and her books a few times, but you can Google her if you are interested!  Jane Juska...

Anyway, we miss her.  She died in October.

Supplies:

  • I had a few scraps of this Tim Holtz paper and I pasted Teresa Collins modelling paste through Tim's Typo stencil
  • Vintage Photo Distress Stain added to the bottom edge, and I blended it using a baby wipe.
  • Tim's Chit Chat stickers added and inked with Antique Linen DI
  • Tim's Photobooth gal added atop some 3M dimensional adhesive
  • The "memoir" Idea-ology nib affixed with Glossy Accents.  I usually use E-6000, but it was in the house as I was working.
  • Twine from my stash

I'd like to share this with the following challenges:

ATC for my sick kid

Made this for my little... she was sick AGAIN this weekend...

Supplies:

  • The base was cut from a large scrap sheet that I used to clean a dartboard stencil with by monoprinting; the dartboard stencil had been sprayed with pink spraypaint
  • The heart was punched (with a Fiskars punch) from a play-date with alcohol inks weeks ago
  • The quotes were in my quote box from multiple books
  • The edges were inked with Tim's Distress Paint in Mowed Lawn
I'll share this with this month's Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge:

Green ATCs

Had some fun making ATCs this morning:

Supplies:

  • Library catalog cards but to ATC size (2.5"x3.5")
  • Backgrounds embossed with Tim's Scribbles stamp and Recollections EP in black
  • Colored with Color Bursts in Pthalo Green and Terre Verde
  • Trees cut on first ATC from Heidi Swamp paper pad using Tim's Treeline die
  • Stickles in Mercury Glass added for snowy effect
  • Second ATC has Tim's Tattered Flowers
  • Tim's Paper Dolls
  • Sentiments are from my collection of old book snippits

I will give the first one with trees to my friend Kelly who is a forester, and I will send the best friend ATC to my BFF Sarah.  She always like the junk I send her, and she keeps it all displayed at her house :)

I'll enter the first ATC into Happy Little Stampers January ATC challenge:

ATC with the works!

This was fun:

Supplies:

  • ATC base cut from a library card, then I snipped the corners off
  • Base coated with Teresa Collins modeling paste through a Tim Holtz stencil
  • Base then painted with Distress Paint in Broken China then smeared with white fluid watercolor paint... I thought it was acrylic before I squirted it onto the project...
  • Gold thread was sitting on my desk, so I ran around my project with it, affixing it on the back with washi.
  • Beautiful nun an image from Lunagirl.  I finished her a long time ago-- she was coated with glossy Mod Podge then accented with various Ranger Liquid Pearls and Stickles.  She was affixed with 3M foam tape.
  • Edge of ATC loosely run with Elmers craft glue and coated with Distress Glitter in Antique Linen
  • Those two little scallops of gold lace were a snippet remaining from about 1'... I cut the two scallops in half and added them to top and bottom with Glossy Accents on reverse.
  • Flowers from my stash
  • Quotes from my book-clippings tin, affixed and coated with Distress Collage Medium in Vintage.
I'll share this at Simon Says Stamp on Monday, where they want us to create ATCs... I hope they haven't placed sleeve restrictions on the ATCs because I generally prefer to load up my ATCs!  I love the format.

Cheers.

HLS: July ATC

Hello!

Made this for my sis, who has always been a panda-lover.  She's now gotten so many cards and projects from me with this stamp... ha!  Hope she likes it!  I will include a note asking her for an ATC back... maybe I'll even include the blank card.

Supplies:
  • Base is thin (read "cheap") Pennelli watercolor paper
  • Old foam kid's stamp found at the elementary school in a bin, tucked far in an attic.
  • Stamp inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black and barely embossed with Recollection EP in black
  • Heart stamp from a Target set
  • Star stamps cut from a larger Dyan Reavely Dylusions stamp
  • DOx in Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron
  • DI in Worn Lipstick daubed around edges
  • Water spritzed to add mottling effect
  • Corners clipped with a Fiskars punch
  • Edges outlines with Stickles in Black Diamond
I'll share this with the folks at Happy Little Stampers for their second-ever ATC challenge!

HLS ATCs

... I feel like some big-shot using all these acronyms... HLS (Happy Little Stampers) has a new ATC (Artist Trading Card) challenge... yay!

Here are my entries:

These will both go to local friends, though I don't expect a trade-- I don't know anyone locally who trades.

Supplies:

  • Ranger Yupo inked with various Adirondack Alcohol Inks
  • Writing and doodling accomplished with Faber-Castell Pitts of varying sizes
  • Corners punched with a Fiskars punch
That's all!

Wicked Wednesday

Owl always love you!

This is the current theme at Wicked Wednesday!  Long time, no play!  Sure do love making ATCs.  One of these will go to my daughter for Valentine's Day.

Supplies and notes:
  • The base of these is from a vintage Bingo card, coated with white Liquitex gesso, then painted through a Heidi Swapp stencil with Distress Paints.
  • I drew the owls and doodled the sentiment with Faber Castell Pitt pens.
That's about it!

Cheers:)

Wicked Wednesday

...for the first time,  I used the inspiration from Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge to do something other than an ATC...

Here's the inspiration... a color palette!:

Supplies and notes:

  • Scrap of letterpress paper,  nearly ATC-sized
  • The inks seen in my image represent the colors from the palette
  • I blended some inks onto the paper then used a monoprint of a Heidi Swapp stencil with the darker colors for the geometric design
  • The sticker is from Collage Press. This panel will go onto a card... I'm thinking for a belated birthday.
