Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet "Savvy Show Stoppers" (1988)

This is a little known Canadian surf-rock band from the 80s and early 90s best known for their contribution to one of the greatest sketch-comedy shows of the 90s, the Kids in the Hall. They provided the theme song, "Having an Average Day", as well as various music for the program. These guys have a contagious sound that really grooves you. Being a surf-rock band, they're not big on the vocals as you would expect, but their instrumentals are all I need.

This album is a compilation of singles produced in their early career, but still their first full length album. And hey, if you're interested in these guys, check out Man... or Astroman?, The Plugz or Link Wray. Also, coincidentally, they were on K Records at one time.

Favorite tracks are "Our Weapons Are Useless", "Shake Some Evil", "Run Chicken Run (Link Wray cover)", and "Having an Average Weekend".
