Rick Santorum Praises Georgia's "Guns Everywhere Bill"
CNN
Fresh off a speech to the National Rifle Association's annual meeting, former - and potentially future - GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum praised a controversial new gun law in Georgia.
The bill, signed by Gov. Nathan Deal last week, will allow Georgians to carry guns into some bars, churches and government buildings.
Critics have slammed the law, calling it the "guns everywhere bill," but Santorum defended the legislation Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation," arguing that if criminals aren't sure whether potential victims or bystanders are armed, they likely won't take the risk.
"I think people do analyze the situation and if they want to accomplish something, they want to kill a lot of people, they're not going to go someplace where someone will shoot back," the former Pennsylvania senator said.

At least you have your guns...
Health care isn't a right.
The same goes for housing
Voting
Or water
You may be aware of the chemical spill that contaminated a river supplying water to hundreds of thousands of people in West Virginia. Officials say there wasn't much regulation at the site where the spill occurred and that little is known about the chemical that leaked.
On the other hand, US House republicans passed a bill that will gut toxic waste clean up regulations in the United States. H.R. 2279, otherwise known as ‘The Reducing Excessive Deadline Obligations Act’ would basically eliminate the power of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to impose clean up deadlines, following toxic spills like the recent WV spill.
That bill passed on the same day the Chemical spill poisoned the water in West Virginia.
But for some reason, guns are no matter how idiotic that proposition is when you really think about it.
You might want to read about how you are being conned into voting against your interests here--but I doubt you will. It's nicer being conned than realise you've been conned.
I guess it makes it easier to kill yourself when you realise that fact.

Majority of Republicans Deny Science
I'm not surprised about the Republicans, I already knew they're mainly idiots. But who the hell are the 27% of Democrats?

Republican Approval at an All-Time Low
Only 28% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, the lowest mark for either party in Gallup polling dating back to 1992, when they started asking that question.
The latest Gallup survey, taken amid an ongoing federal government shutdown for which most have blamed Republicans so far, plunges the GOP's favorability levels 10 points from where they were in September. More than six in 10 Americans (62%) now view the Republican Party unfavorably, also a record-high in Gallup polling.
The previous low for the GOP came in 1999, when only 31% of people viewed the party favorably. That was during the impeachment proceedings of President Clinton.
Democrats have a more measured favorable-to-unfavorable split at 43-49. The 43% favorability level is down four points from last month.
And President Barack Obama's approval rating stands at 44%, compared with 51% who disapprove.
Here's a chart of the historical trend:

Anti-Hillary Campaign Buttons Show the Republicans for the Misogynists They Are
Addicting Info
In 2012, Republicans suffered a 12 point loss among women in the race for the White House. Even with this major defeat, the GOP believes it can still attract female voters while continuing to be anti-women by simply keeping their mouths shut about women’s bodies, rape, and reproductive rights. But that strategy has now been blown completely out of the water with the appearance of extremely sexist and highly offensive anti-Hillary Clinton buttons at the California GOP convention.

Study Shows Republicans are “the less credible party”
Many politicians stretch the truth or obfuscate to some degree or another — but does one party do it more than the other? According to a new study from the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University the answer is an unequivocal yes. Parsing 100 statements evaluated by the fact-checking website PolitiFact between Obama’s second inauguration and this month, the researchers found that claims from Republican officials were labeled as “false” or “pants on fire” by a 3-to-1 margin, compared to claims from Democratic officials. Conversely, half as many Republican claims were labeled “entirely true.”
“While Republicans see a credibility gap in the Obama administration, PolitiFact rates Republicans as the less credible party,” said CMPA president Robert Lichter in a press release. An earlier study from the CMPA found the website rated the Romney campaign worse than the Obama campaign during the 2012 election. Not surprisingly, Michele Bachmann is one of the most poorly rated politicians on PolitiFact.

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Public Mind Project
Dangerous Minds
Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind project has released the eye-popping results of a new poll aiming to gauge public attitudes and awareness level regarding gun issues.
The pollsters found that overall, 29% of Americans agreed with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties.” Five percent were unsure about this.
Some Democrats (18%) said an armed revolt “might be necessary,” while 27% of independents and whopping 44%of Republicans agreed. The less educated someone was the more likely they were to agree with the statement.
PublicMind also found that 25% of voters believe they’re being lied to about the Sandy Hook massacre by people trying to manipulate the tragedy for political power. Another 11 % said they weren’t sure about it.

Republicans Will 'Have A Lot Of People To Answer To' If They Don't Support Gun Control
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) (Brett LoGiurato/Business Insider)
Business Insider
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) thinks Senate Republicans are lying when they say they don't support a new gun legislation.
After all, he said, pointing to a recent Public Policy Polling survey, even a plurality of Georgia voters support a ban on assault-style weapons.
So if certain gun control legislation comes up for a vote in the Senate this week, Murphy expects some Republicans to shift their positions, especially on a universal background check measure that polls consistently show has the support of more than nine in 10 Americans.
"Otherwise, they're going to have a lot of people to answer to," Murphy said here at an event where President Barack Obama delivered forceful remarks on the legislation he is urging Congress to pass.

Rand Paul on King Obama's Executive Orders
I noticed Hannity didn't ask the Senator to name the offensive executive orders. I imagine that's because none of them really smacks of legislation. As usual, in order to have an argument to make, the Republicans have to lie and exaggerate.
Of course they deny this has anything to do with racism, but to me they're full of it. Referring to the president as King Obama in that slightly Southern twang, to me, smacks of racism far more than Obama's mild suggestions smack of legislation.
What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.
