The kids were out of school for a full week, so on Monday afternoon, we loaded up the car and headed for bluer skies! --my sister, Julianne, lives in St. George. (It was just me and the kids--Mike stayed home to work--somone has to pay the bills!--also he had box seats for the Jazz game) Lisa, my sister from Denver, met us there with her 3 little ones, my mom also came down, and my brother Norm, his wife Diane, and their crew were even there for a few days. It was actually a little cool and windy, but the skies were blue and we all came home sun kissed!
Julianne's neighbor is raising two baby lambs for a couple of months because the mama sheep had more babies than she could feed. After the babies can start eating solid food they will go back to the farm. JR and Brandon were off golfing on Wednesday morning, so we took the younger kids over to see the lambs.
The girls did this...
Amanda
Brittney
Katelyn
While the boys did this...
Joey and Robert
...those little lambs look pretty scarey!
On Thursday, we visited the Dixie State College campus and had ice cream in the Gardner Student Center, named for my
Grandpa Gardner. Grandpa was the biggest BYU fan I have ever known, but a piece of his heart was always in Dixie. As a young man, Grandpa played basketball for Dixie College.
When I was growing up we lived in St. George for a little while and my brother Norm was on a basketball team and played in the very same gym where Grandpa played.

The kids were really hoping to get some pool time this trip....
It was a little cool for swimming, but perfect weather
for a picnic...
JR and Robert
...for riding scooters in the park...
Brandon and Katelyn
Brittney and Joey
Amanda and Tanner

We also enjoyed a day at the skate park, and evenings laying around Julianne's house, got cheap haircuts (cheap as in "I'm too cheap to leave a tip,") had a wild trip to Costco (yes, I did stock up on burritos,) hit Jack-in-the-Box for the boys, had a AAA moment (I missed you sweetie,) and one "oops, I guess that's not a drive-way." (really? you think I need glasses to drive?)

Such fun! And now back to real life....

Sounds like you guys had fun. I was sad I wasn't there. Next time maybe :)
It was a fun week! Ummmm I don't know the curb story .... should I be worried?
I love St. George! I wish Julianne and Joe lived closer, but at least they moved to a great place to spend a long weekend :)
I miss my babysitters. The 11 hour drive there and the 12 hour ride back was worth the week.
what fun for all the cousins- and all the parents too! Though I must admit I enjoyed my spring break to Italy- without kids!
