The other day, I was having one of those days. My Grandpa had been in the hospital for over a month straight, my step-dad, Steve had fallen off the lift of his truck and shattered his knees, broke his arm, the other wrist, and is pretty much in a body cast. I was stressed from being over 300 miles away from everyone, unable to help my family. They have been there for me through so much, I only wish I could do more for them.
I was struggling to get Sydney out of the car, and into her stroller. I dropped my wallet and everything fell out! All I needed was some baby formula from Costco, and I could be well on my way back home. As I was attempting to get in line to check out, a man and his family were blocking me from walking any further. I spoke up, saying "excuse me, please". Nothing. Again, "excuse me, please"! NOTHING! Given, he didn't hear me, but I started to proceed in the teeny tiny space to inch my way forward. I looked up at him, and said, "excuse me sir, thank you." As I started walking away from him, he blurts out this remark... "Well, if she would have had some consideration for others and had just said excuse me, I would have gladly moved!" It was very clear he said it loud enough so I could hear, so to finish our lovely conversation I turned my head to look at him and said "I did sir, sorry you couldn't hear me."
I only wish we could give others the benefit of the doubt more freely. Why does it matter if they forget to turn on their blinker when driving, or if someone bumps into us? Why do we care so much what others do? I was so proud of myself... for standing up to a complete stranger like that. It's totally unlike me. If any of you know me, you might think I am exaggerating. But, I promise! I actually said it!

Totally proud of you!!! It doesn't take much to please me...like a kind word, driving with respect for others, using a blinker. I, like you, don't think it's too much to ask. I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself. I admit I would've been mean!
