Firstly, it's the 500th post on this blog.

Yay!

And no better way to celebrate than to tell u an interesting story.

There is a garage, full of expensive cars.

Garages are supposed to be personal, but in this garage two companies own it.

Yet only two mechanics from Team A are in charge. Team B has no mechanics to look after their own cars and task Team A with the job.

During this period of time only one mechanic is on duty as the other is on long sick leave.

He's been doing the job for almost 2 months straight now without any rest, besides weekends.

Tired is an understatement.

On Wed 40 drivers from Team C come to rent cars registered to drivers under Team B. They're going to use these cars for a race on next Mon.

No one ever lends out personal cars for strangers' usage.

Team A's mechanic is in charge, as usual. But this time a mechanic from Team C comes to help.

This mechanic issues the drivers the cars while A's mechanic ensures that the paperwork is done correctly.

One of the drivers takes car no.14 out for an inspection and returns 5 min later to return. Mechanic C returns the car and A witnesses the signature. In no time does A touch the cars at all. Assuming that mechanic C has done his job by checking every car since he is the one handling them, mechanic A only ensures that all cars are returned at the end of the day.

The car will not be driven out again until Fri. Another driver, not involved in Monday's race, comes to the garage to rent out car no. 14. He's been tasked to clean and maintain the car on behalf of the driver who is away at a simulation centre.

This time an assistant mechanic from Team C is present to issue the cars. The new driver takes the car out of the garage and very soon returns.

>> Your car is missing a tyre.

Now alarm bells are ringing. These cars are expensive, and any missing part means a hefty fine and some punishment as well from the companies as well as the overall head of the racing organisation.

Now the problem is - how can the car lose a tyre when it was not driven out on Thursday?

A tyre can't also drop out easily. You need to apply some effort to crank it out.

So using some logic the only way the car could lose a tyre was on Wed when the car was last driven out.

But according to Wed's driver all 4 wheels were intact when he returned. And mechanic C said the same.

Come on, if you lost the tyre would you own up, knowing that by doing so you would be in for some trouble?

But then again, since he would be using the car on Monday why would he sabotage himself?

So because of one missing tyre a hell lot of people are involved in the investigation. Mechanic A and the two mechanics from Team C obviously; garage inspectors on Wed and Thurs as they had failed to notice the missing tyre on car no.14 assuming it was lost before Fri; and the driver from Team C who is the biggest suspect now.

Obviously the missing tyre could not be found. Someone would have to take the biggest blame for this error.

Before the verdict is out next week, who do you think should be punished the heaviest?

a) Mechanic A - for failing to ensure that all cars were returned in working condition to his garage.

b) Mechanic C - for failing to ensure that the car no. 14 was returned in working condition when he received the car back from the driver.

c) Driver C - on suspicion that he was involved in the loss of the tyre.

If you've realised, I'm typing in perfect English, which means proper casing and no Internet-lingo abbreviations. That's because this 500th post on this blog would be my last here, for a number of reasons:

1) I want to start typing properly again, and that means a fresh start.

2) That means I would need to start a new blog. Anyway this blog has served me well for about 5 years I think.

3) I don't know when will be the next time I can blog - I hope you're smart to realise that I'm one of the characters in the story. So if I get a heavy punishment I might not be able to go home for a while.
