December Daily 2015....Thanksgiving

This year my youngest daughter is not playing basketball.  This allowed us to not worry about practices over Thanksgiving break so we loaded up and headed to my sister's house 5 hours away.  It was such a wonderful time and I'm so happy we got to go.  There's a full size 6 x 8 photo of my girls on the left.
This is a trimmed down page protector with a 4 x 4 photo and two 2 x 2 photos.  The tab was stapled on.
I adhered a gold rim tag to the photo and the JOY button is adhered to the outside of the page protector.
Turning the page you see the back side of the small insert that features a day of hunting.  It was the first time the girls went pheasant hunting so it was well worth documenting.  On the right I have journaling cards with hand written and typed journaling.  I used some plaid paper since the plaid theme appears quite often this holiday season for us.  I also stitched on another of the Gossamer Blue sticky notes with typed words.
Here's the two page spread without the insert.
Next I'll be moving on to our daily December activities.

December Daily 2015...dear Winter

Today I'm sharing a page about the ice storm we had while traveling to my sister's for Thanksgiving.  The left page is the back side of the clear insert.
I used a white shimmer envelope as a smaller insert with a photo of our wintry scene.
This is the back side of the envelope which will hold a photo of the icy roads and a story about our road trip home during the storm.  The right page is an insert with a wood veneer embellishment and a trimmed down journaling card.
This is yet another insert I added before I actually start my days of December.  Stay tuned for more to come.

December Daily 2015....the 4 of us

It's become tradition in my December Daily albums that I start out with a photo of all 4 of us.  It seems my favorite always comes from our annual Colorado vacation.  So before I start with my numbered, daily December pages I included a page about the 4 of us together.  The pinecones were fitting and I added a #4 tag, a little plastic embellishment, washi tape and a gold glitter heart.  The photo size is 6 x 6 in black and white.
This shows the back of the 6 x 6 photo.  I'll hand write about spending time with my favorite people in Colorado and what this album means to me this year.
I used gold letter stickers, my favorite sticky note flags from the Gossamer Blue December Memories Kit, and word stickers. In previous years I've used red stitching and I'm continuing with that in this year's album.
This is a 12 square insert with 2 x 2 journaling cards, a wood veneer piece, sequins, black metal tag and wood veneer tree.  I like to use the Tiny Tim stapler a lot too.
You can see my next page peeking through.  I'll be back to share that soon.

Daily December 2015....album and cover page

Today I'm sharing the beginnings of my December Daily 2015 album.  I'm using an Ali Edwards album this year in red.  The page sizes are mainly 6 x 8.
Here's my cover page which starts out with a clear overlay.
Peek through to the main cover page.
The cover age is wonderfully embossed and doesn't need much embellishing.
I used a chipboard sticker, glitter star, memories sticker and the date is typed with my vintage typewriter.
Looking forward to filling up my album.  I'll be back soon for more updates.

December Daily 2015...the kits I'll be using

Hello there, today I'm kicking off my December Daily 2015 posts!  This year I decided to use both the Gossamer Blue 2015 December Memories Kit and the Ali Edwards December Daily Main 2015 Kit + an add on kit by Jasmine Jones.  I also decided to use an Ali Edwards album because the size matches the ones I've used in the last few previous years.
Here's a peek at the Gossamer Blue kit contents, stored in a vintage cutlery tray.  I sort the smaller items with vintage Jello molds.
Here's the Ali Edwards kit contents in green vintage cutlery tray with more tiny embellishments added to additional Jello molds.
Here's both the kits, all unpackaged and ready to go.  I like to take all products out of their packages so I'm not fumbling with opening up plastic packages.  I'm more like to use something if it's out in the open and I can rummage through the little pieces.
I'll most likely be adding a few tags and items from some of my packaging kits from my shop too.

I'm all set up and ready to work.  This year I'll be sharing just my completed pages here on the blog.  I post little previews and works in progress + lots of other happenings on my Instagram account.  Feel free to visit me over there at Mish Wooderson.

At the first of the year I'll be sharing more on my art journey.  I've photographed and have been adding a lot to Instagram about my my year of starting over in my artful creations.  I'll be backtracking and sharing that progress in hopes of inspiring you to maybe pick up that paint brush.....and start again....or just start.  I hope you'll join me.

Lots of pretty florals with some Autumn colors and rich gold embossing on the stamped images.
Little bits of Washi tape from the cute stack of Washi papers, stapled on hearts, enamel dots and pretty aqua ribbon from my stash.
Thank you cards are always in need around here.  Happy to add a few more to my stash.  Happy October everyone!

September Gossamer Blue Blog Hop....

Hello and welcome to the September Gossamer Blue Design Team Blog Hop. Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I created using the September kits.
I love to just pick out a favorite product and see where it takes me.  I think the dye dipped fabric tags are so fun.  I started with them as my bottom layer and just added elements on top.
I love the combination of the textured canvas tag, the glittery dots, the clear acetate triangles and the popped up chipboard birdies.  I added a generic sentiment using my vintage typewriter.  Two more for the card stash.
There's plenty more inspiration today so be sure to cruise on through to these Design Team blogs:

September Gossamer Blue projects..

Welcome September! The new release is up over at Gossamer Blue.  Lots and lots of fun new products.  This month I concentrated on cards as thank you notes are always needed.  The girls go through them quickly with graduations, birthdays, etc.  For my cards today I used the Bits & Pieces Kit.

Lots of fun papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad.
I cut one sheet up to get all the cut little tag looking embellishments.
The tassels were extra fun, I just stapled them to my card front.
For each card, I typed "thank you" onto some scrap paper and then popped them up on pop dots.
I like to mix and match papers for a quirky look.
A fun little set to add to my stash.  Lots of texture and dimension yet they all still fit into a regular card envelope.  I'm set for a while.
I'll be back soon to share more of my September Gossamer Blue creations.  Thanks for stopping by!

A twist on business cards...

This month I'm sharing a project over at the Gossamer Blue blog which I'm sharing here on my blog today too.  I'm heading out for vacation this month and it always seems I run into someone who I'd like to share my contact information.  So I thought some cute business cards were in order.  I grabbed some woodgrain patterned paper, labels I printed, some mini Instagrams I printed of my artwork, some Washi tape and the October Afternoon roller stamp.
You can find the dimensions for my business cards over at the Gossamer Blue blog.  They fold in half, with the artwork on the front with Washi tape underneath.....
.....and my contact information on the inside in the form of the printed address labels. I also stamped the sentiment on the inside of the cards.
A fun little twist and not too formal.  Just what I like.
I'll tuck these into my art bag and hopefully I'll meet up with some new friends while doing some watercoloring sketching.
Hope you enjoy!  Did you know I've taken up my art again?  I haven't shared much here on the blog but I post regularly on my Instagram account.  I'm "mishwooderson" if you care to take a peek.  If anyone is interested I can start sharing my artwork and fun supplies here on the blog too.  Chat about it in the comments if you like.  :)

Project Life....let's eat

Sharing another week of my Project Life today.  This week pretty much involves food photos and I used the August Gossamer Blue kits for my supplies.
We love it when garden season comes around because it's all about canning jams and veggies that we grew.  I used the "currently reading" card to list books that I've been reading and also websites that I've been following for art journaling, etc. I used my black pen to draw lines around a lot of the journaling cards just to give them a border.  I love lots of cards that provide ample writing space. I also don't mind using my fine tip Sharpie to journaling directly onto photos.
More food photos, iced coffees because when it's 101 degrees with 110 degree heat index, hot coffee is too much.  Also love the little mason jar night light my mom gave me as a souvenir from a recent trip.
Josey carried a melon.  Always love to quote that from Dirty Dancing.  Love this simple "EAT" card.  I stapled the July accent to it.
Journaling card with a flower die cut and enamel stickers.
Thanks for stopping by.  Right about now we're just returning from cooling off in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.

Project Life....July 13-26

This week's Project Life spread was created using the August Gossamer Blue kit.
We spent a lot of time getting ready for Jordan's Senior Photo shoot.  I love gathering up props and helping the girls pick out outfits for photos.  Jordan's photo shoot was so unique and just her style.
I'm going to start including photos of my watercolor sketches in my albums so that I can incorporate some of my art.  Zinnias from the garden, hay season and a cruise with the ladies. I'm embracing my handwriting so I love 3 x 4 cards with lots of white space for journaling.
Loved the VW bus chipboard sticker, perfect for Jordan's photo shoot pages.  I must admit that I designed this "wild child" stamp with my girls mind.  Jordan loves that song by Kenny Chesney. The Tom Petty quote made it on a stamp in last month's kits.
These page flips are included in a kit this month.  I used them a lot to add additional photos and journaling.
Thanks for stopping by!

Mason jar themed gifts...

It's a new month over at Gossamer Blue and the line up of kits is fantastic.  Using mostly the Bits & Pieces Kit, I created a set of six mason jar themed gifts.  I might have a little luncheon for some retired ladies or at the very least, I'll have some nice gifts ready in my stash.

I started out with some drawstring bags that I got at Michael's.  I layered up all of the adorable mason jar tags and filled them with sequins and punched paper flowers.
I stamped on some congratulations type stamps from the set in the Main Kit.  Definitely well suited for retirement gifts or just a fun little gift in general.  I tied on baker's twine from my stash and used a brown safety pin to attach the tags to the cloth bags.
Next I used the strawberry stamp in red ink and stamped them into a mason jar stamp from Michael's.
I used various patterned papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad plus added Washi tape and some enamel stickers to each card front.  More images from the Main Kit stamp set were added to the cards.
Reaching into my stash again, I grabbed some cello bags that I can use to hold a few candies or perhaps a baked treat.  I punched a mason jar from a punch I got at Target, outlined the jar image, then stamped on the "YAY" sentiment.
I attached the jars to the sacks with more of the pretty October Afternoon Washi tape.  The giant clothespins were from Michael's in that cheap section.
From my coveted collection of jams that I've been canning this season, I chose six of my prized Strawberry Peach Jams.
Each jar was topped with a punch circle label with some Washi tape underneath.
Here's a little look at what a recipient might receive.  The cards will be tucked into the cloth bag.  If I do a luncheon this ensemble will probably top the plates.  Otherwise, it all might be tucked into a Kraft handled sack with a strip of torn vintage sheet for wrapping.
Until then I'll just tuck all my goodies into my wire basket and them upon a shelf.
I hope you're inspired to create some gifts of your own.  Handmade....and homemade....is always best in my opinion.  Have fun!

Be sure to check out the Gossamer Blue Design Team galleries over at the website.  The projects are just oozing with amazing-ness.
