Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / May 2022

May is here and the weather is already summery !! In the 90's this weekend .. We went from winter to summer in the space of a few days, it seems .. I hope we get some cooler temps soon - I am not a fan of sweaty, humid weather. Celeste and I are back with some fun inspiration for you - our theme this month is Gnomes !! I will admit that I have not hopped on the gnome bandwagon .  But I did find this garden gnome for our inspiration photo and would not mind having one of those !!

I do have a very cute gnome stamp/die set that I have used a few times but for today's card I am using the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp from Impression Obsession Stamps . My first thought was to only color some red highlights, but I did not like how that looked .. So I kept adding more and more colors..  Then I felt like I had overdone it so I stopped .. But now I feel like I have more coloring to do .. So, I am just second-guessing my process .I decided to be happy and post what I've completed and maybe overthink it some more later !!

  • I stamped the Gnome Sweet Gnome image on white cardstock with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink . All individual red rubber stamps were retired at Impression Obsession on 4-30-22 . I am lucky to have an amazing collection and was also able to get a few more before the deadline. So this gnome stamp is no longer available but they are still carrying a variety of other stamps / dies that you can check out HERE .
  • I colored the image with my COPICS.
  • On a yellow card base, I adhered a piece of pale green patterned paper.
  • Gnome Sweet Gnome was then adhered to the patterned paper.
  • Large sequins in a variety of colors were adhered to the bottom right and top left of the stamped image.
I know that Celeste is going to come up with an absolutely amazing gnome card that you can check out at her blog - Crafting Junky .  For my coffee this time , I am drinking Iced Pecan Praline in the sweetest cup I found at Target . It was only $10 so I couldn't resist (of course, when all was said and done, I actually spent a total of $145 that visit ) --- but who's keeping track anyway !!! The little white cat reminds me of our sweet Pixie !!

Thank you for stopping by for some crafty inspiration ... I hope that you are staying busy, staying creative and most of all, staying healthy .. Let me know if you are a gnome fan - I know there are many out there in the creative universe .. Until next time --------

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / February 2022

February is the month for love, so it's fitting that our theme this month is hearts . We have had a bitter cold few weeks here in Virginia and I'm so looking forward to spring.. But until then, we will stay busy with Valentines, heart-shaped chocolates and all things LOVE !!

I have also been making cards each month with a few friends to celebrate quirky holidays. This week we celebrate Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day and I decided to combine that with this Coffee and Cards post in one fun card !! I hope that you like this card as much as I do .

  • I adhered a piece of multi-colored hearts paper from The Paper Studio to an A6 cream card base.
  • The stamped image is More Than Ice Cream from Impression Obsession . It was designed by my creative friend Nola Chandler.
  • I stamped 2 of the images and cut the ice cream cone out of one.
  • I colored the ice cream cone with my COPICS .
  • Those cool confetti heart stickers were found at Hobby Lobby and seemed perfect to fit right on top of that cone !!
  • I adhered the fussy-cut cone right on top of the base panel image using foam tabs to create depth.
  • I matted the completed stamped panel onto a piece of dark blue glitter paper, leaving only a small margin around the image .
  • The entire panel was then adhered to my background of hearts .

Take a look at Celeste's heart creation over at her blog - Crafting Junky She will also be telling you what her drink of choice is for February.  I am drinking Blueberry Cobbler Coffee from my new cup given to me by Brian. He had it made with our likenesses and names on it . I'm even drinking from a "Starbucks" cup !! It was a sweet surprise and I love it !! But what the heck - we both have gray hair ..When did that happen ?!?!?!?!

Thank you for stopping by to see our February Coffee & Cards .. We hope that you come back each month for some creative inspiration .. Until next time, stay creative.. And above all stay safe !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / August 2020

Celeste and I are back with our August blog posts and I am dreaming of cool Autumn weather..  Pumpkin Spice Lattes, sweaters, a cool breeze, sitting outside on the deck in the evening .. We have had many days with temps close to 100 degrees and I am so looking forward to a chill in the sir..  And just for that reason, our inspiration photo is all about Autumn..

I wanted to use this fun Pumpkin Spice Kitty stamp from Impression Obsession for my card .. It was designed by my friend Nola Chandler.  You can all of her wonderful stamps HERE .

  • I cut a piece of Paper Studio Sunflower paper from Hobby Lobby to fit my A2 Chalkboard Yellow card base - leaving a small margin around each side.
  • The Pumpkin Spice Kitty image was stamped on Strathmore Watercolor paper and then fussy-cut.
  • I also stamped the kitty onto a piece of patterned yellow paper and fussy-cut the head.
  • The watercolor image was colored with Copic Markers.
  • I adhered the patterned kitty head over the watercolor paper image .
  • The patterned sunflower paper was adhered to the card base and then the Pumpkin Spice Kitty was popped up with foam tabs to the front of the card.
  • I adhered an Idea-ology Small Talk sentiment to a piece of dark orange cardstock and then  placed that in the lower right corner of the card.
I had so much fun with this image that I made several cards for friends !! And I absolutely LOVE that sunflower paper !

I'm sure that Celeste over at Crafting Junky has come up with a great design to welcome Autumn. Are you looking forward to cooler weather ?? We are all still wearing masks here in Virginia ( well, almost everyone ), so cooler weather will be so much more comfortable !! Who knows how much longer we will be social-distancing .. I am really missing my time hanging out at the coffeeshop and the bookstore..  I am enjoying some Maple Pecan coffee in a new Owl mug from Hobby Lobby.. I got it for $1 last year after the holidays !! Isn't it just perfect for this post ?!?! And I just had to include the ever-present hand sanitizer !!

Thank you so much for visiting Meticulosity once again !! I hope that you all are taking care of yourselves and staying healthy .. Stay creative until next time ........

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas - June 2020

Who would have ever thought that 3 months later we would still be in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic ?!?!?! My state of Virginia is seeing a drop in numbers and is slowly opening, but I am still mostly staying home and wearing my mask everywhere else ! The RN in me knows that it's still a time to be careful and not take unnecessary risks, as much as I miss my coffee shop and bookstore time !

I am having a hard time concentrating and being crafty for very long these days so this post will be short and sweet and not as descriptive.. Please let me know if you have questions about any of the cards .  Coloring was done with my new Copic Ciao markers that I found on clearance at Michaels. My first card just popped into my head when I got this stamp set and I had to make it ... I'm hoping I don't have to look for holiday-patterned masks but just in case --- this card will be ready to send !!

  • Close to My Heart "On Repeat" stamp set
  • Holiday washi tape from Recollections
  • Planner sticker "Ho Ho Ho" cut and popped up on foam tabs
  • Paper-pieced mask on cute kitty  ( hey, it's Pixie !! )
  • Red card base

It's hard to believe that we are half-way to Christmas !! My Crafty Elf teammates have also been busy with their projects and you can see them here -

Michael Trent - World of Michael Trent
Lisa Reynolds Bzibziak - Life of a BZ Scrapper
Jessica Pickeral - Polka Dot Orchard Blog

I hope that all of you are staying safe and keeping busy .. Have you been able to stay creative in the middle of all that is going on ?? I'm grateful to have Michael, Lisa and Jessica helping me to stay sane and creative !! Take care of yourselves and let me know if I've inspired you to get a jump-start on your holiday cards !!

Until next time --
Stay safe and creative

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas - April

Well, here we are with another successful month of Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas . Lisa and I are creating a Christmas card each week so we are ready for the holiday season and not in panic mode as card-sending season approaches !! The last 2 weeks have been crazy for me -- from a crushed foot ( my guy's ) to a broken crown on my tooth to multiple car issues resulting in many $$$$$$$$ spent.  Nothing we can't handle and we know we are lucky in so many ways but ----  sometimes enough is enough !! So this post won't be lengthy and detailed because I am off work tomorrow and   want to go to bed early and read a book .. I've been thinking about that all day ..

For my first card, I used the Snowstar Girl stamp from Impression Obsession. This stamp was designed by my talented friend, Lindsay Ostrom and you can check out all of het IO stamps  HERE. I used a bright green card base and stamped the image on kraft cardstock. A few different patterns of washi from Tim Holtz and a Paper House sticker sentiment were all I needed to make a fun card. I colored the image with a variety of my favorite markers and topped off her hat with some glitter. I'm  loving this card and hope you do too..

#1 - Believe in the Magic of Christmas

For my second card, I used a cute elf design that hadn't even been inked up yet - the stamp is Elf Christmas  from Unity  Stamp Company. I started off with a star-patterned red card base.  The image was stamped on Kraft and colored. I  placed 2 strips of coordinating holiday washi by Tim Holtz at the top of the Kraft piece and then tied a strand of holiday twine around the Kraft at the bottom of the washi strips. The sentiment from Elf Christmas was stamped and then adhered at the bottom of the stamped image with another strip of  washi.

#2 - Elf Christmas

My next card gets away from the traditional holiday colors of red and green and uses another Unity Stamp Company image - Winter Forest. On an ivory card base, I placed my image  and sentiment  that were stamped on watercolor paper. Tim Holtz washi was placed at the top and bottom of the image and several coordinating sequins added a bit of shine at the top of the sentiment. Some coloring on the trees finished this card .

#3 - Winter Forest

And last, but not least - I love socks !! Especially Christmas socks !! So, this Warm & Cozy stamp, also from Unity Stamp Company, was begging to be used in our Christmas Countdown !! A quick and simple card , using the stamped image & sentiment and a piece of holly washi tape. Just a bit of coloring and this card was finished !! I thought about adding some sequins or candy dots or Nuvo drops but then just decided to leave well enough alone ( sometimes a hard concept for me to grasp ).

#4 - Warm & Cozy
