"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Madison turns 2

Wow! Two years has flown by. My little girl is growing up so fast. We didn't get a chance to plan a party since her birthday fell on General Conference weekend. But we still did a little something for her to celebrate. Then we took her to Pirate Island where we had pizza and the kids got to play.

IFLY Utah Indoor Skydiving

So for the girls birthday we wanted to do something fun and different for them. We thought of the Limo idea with dinner and friends etc. But it's something everybody does, and there will be more times for Limos and friends like with school dances like Prom. So David had seen the idea of Indoor Skydiving and thought it would be cool.  But we didn't want to tell them. So we left it a surprise when we got there. All of the girls had a unforgettable experience. Way fun,  and way cool they all said. It's definitely something they want to try again.

The girls all got certificates and the birthday girls got free tshirts and a video of the whole experience. Afterwards we got pizza and watched the video. These girls were so excited the minute we left the car to go there, from the minute they all went home. It was a cool and exciting night for all of them.

Alicia's sweet 16 photos

Alicia and Briana took a photoshoot with their closest friends Brittany and Amanda.

After the pictures all the girls came back to the house for some cake and yummy treats. Some of the other Young Women and YW leaders came as well to come and wish Alicia a Happy Birthday.

St Patricks Day Fun

RAINBOW CUPCAKES!!! YAY!!! That was the excitement of Addy when I told her of the idea of us making these for her class for St. Patricks Day. For the month of March, the kids were learning all the different colors. Each school day was a different color. So she wore as much of that color on that specific day to try and win. This was an exciting month for Addy as she looked forward to the next color day so she can pick out what to wear. It was fun watching how she took it so serious. Making the cupcakes. I split the batter into 6 different baggies and added food coloring. The girls then mixed them up. So fun and easy for them, plus without the mess. Then we layered them one color at a time. (well mom did)
Addy is the one that layed them out on the table like this. She was trying to make it look like a rainbow. What a great job she did!

Here is how I did her hair. Using the 1 ponytail method.
Last year we did the 3 ponytail method.
THE RESULT! Here is how they turned out.
For the rainbows I used small sized twizzlers that I bought from the Easter Section at Walmart. So they were pastel colors, but hey, it still worked great!

You can see the rainbow through the wrapper.
Now you can taste the rainbow! They were a hit! The kids loved them.

So this year I wanted to start a new tradition and make an Irish Dish or Dessert each year. So I made for us, an Irish Cream Bundt cake.

It was pretty good, but really sweet. So I don't think it was a good idea for my husband who had 3 servings to eat it. Next year I have something else in mind I know he would love.

Happy St. Patricks Day!
