Well, I don't know what happened, but it seems time has gotten away from me. It started out with me doing some filing to prepare for our taxes and it ended up in a huge spring cleaning frenzy. You know the "let's pull all the furniture out of the rooms and start over" kind of cleaning. I can say our house is a lot more livable now and we got rid of a lot of junk, but it took some time. We also celebrated my husband's birthday, his one year anniversary of being cancer free, Easter, and spring break for my son. Soccer and softball season are supposed to begin for my son this week, but the weather really is not cooperating which is disappointing as I have all my sit and wait bags repacked and ready to go.
In between all my celebrating and cleaning I have been working on some hand projects....
There were a few days when I almost gave up on these hexagons. Looking at it now it seems almost doable. I tend to start projects that are HUGE undertakings and get the easy parts done quickly and then suffer at the end with the more time consuming not so fun parts. I still have all the centers of the flowers to satin stitch, but looking at this photo I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I have also been working with wool, which I am really enjoying. This pincushion is from Just Another Button Company and although it was rather expensive to purchase as a kit, it was completely worth it and a joy to assemble.
I have big plans for this guy. I'm planning on him having a red friend, a blue friend, and a yellow friend. I actually think he was easier than the carrot.
Last, but not least I assembled this box for my take along bag. The kit came with the tiny scissors and the thread keeper. Hopefully I will not lose my needles anymore with both the pincushion and magnet. Happy Stitching!! --Kristen
