Nest Bowl

Christofle

DESIGNER

Stéphane Parmentier

FINISH

Silver Plated

DIMENSIONS

Extra Small with Spoon, Small, Medium & Large

DESCRIPTION

I love the clean lines of this piece.  Simple, yet unique.  This is the type of piece I wish I had designed.   Interior Designer Stéphane Parmentier had the opportunity to collaborate recently with Chirstopfle in a new exquisite line of decorative pieces.

The silver-plated Nest bowls come in four sizes: XS, which is lilliputian and includes a spoon for salt and pepper; S, M and L, which can be used as centerpieces to hold fruit, for example, or simply as exquisite decorative objects.

“I wanted to express the ambivalence of opposites,” explains Stéphane Parmentier. “A juxtaposition of extremes, between linearity and curves. Paradoxes condensed into a single object, where the boundaries are imperceptible. ”

DESCRIPTION

My mother used to say that real luxury is in the things that you touch every day.  The sheets you sleep in, the pen and paper you write on, the door knob of your home and so on.  I grew up with this phrase almost embedded in my brain and every time I possibly can, I endeavour to have all the things that I touch in my every day life be beautiful or stimulate my five senses.

While searching for this week’s Eye Candy of the Week I came across this USB key – It is made of silver, one of my favourite materials, and its design is so simple yet stunningly functional.  I have always admired the company Apple and their approach to aesthetics, and I wonder why other technology companies don’t follow this same path: to create beautiful objects for our every day life.

Sharing the same creative passion and demand for perfection, Christofle and LaCie have joined their talents to introduce a precious gem that is the keeper of all your memorabilia – Galet, USB key.  With its beautiful pebble figure and magnificent shine, the Galet is sure to be an object of your affection. - Christofle

What are your favourite every day objects?

DESCRIPTION

Last week, while I was away from the studio recovering from surgery, I was very fortunate to receive lots of beautiful an unexpected care packages from my favourite friends.  Lots of encouraging words, positive vibes, warm thoughts, beautiful flower arrangements, great trashy magazines, tv series, orgasmic desserts, pure vanilla ice cream – the way to my heart, a wonderful home-made soup, a fantastic portrait of my favourite girls in the world, a stunning watercolour kit, pyjamas, and the list of love keeps going and going without an order of preference.  I have to say that I felt and I still feel really special and loved and quite spoiled which I kind of like.

One of the care packages I received contained a beautiful handmade card with a “lucky penny”, a box of Thomas Haas Chocolate Truffles and a Vintage 2000 bottle of Dom Pérignon – What can I say, I was speechless when It got delivered to my front door in this extravagant and beautifully presented package - Anyhow, I have never had a Vintage bottle of anything in my life, so I am planning to celebrate in the near future my fight and share it with all my wonderful friends.  But guess what? I don’t have a Champagne Cooler, so I decided that I deserve a good b-day present (to myself) and I found this champagne cooler that is going to be with me for the rest of my life, and It will become a memory of all my friends.

The Gigogne Coffee Service from Christofle is functional in its approach, but yet it contains extremely beautiful clean lines. Who doesn't want to wake up in the mornings and enjoy a cup of coffee with this stylish set. You’ve got your coffee pot, creamer and sugar bowl in one stunning design.

Sleek, polished sterling silver with round exotic wood handles and a lid knob add to its stunning stature. The original art deco design was created in 1926 by danish designer Christian Fjerdingstad. It's hard to believe that a piece that was created over 80 years ago is so current in it's design.
