Hey there! If you've been following my posts for some time, you will know how much I love to work with color in my pages, and as you can imagine, that's one of the reasons why I'm in love with the new Hey Cupcake collection! The Hey Cupcake collection is so much fun! The colors, patterns, embellishments, and those little llamas and hedgehogs are the cutest thing ever!!! Today I'm going to be sharing my first layout created with it so make sure read until the end.
To create this layout, I started by gathering some of my favorite pieces from the collection. I picked some from the Chit ChatTM set, Odds & EndsTM set, and also included some from the doodle-popsTM. Then I grouped them together creating some sort of a scene- a girl at a birthday party with balloons and a cake. Then, I positioned my photo on the right side, along with the title and the journaling, and started to embellish my page, as well adding some extra details to some specific pieces from the page- for example, to add some more interest to the cake, I added some glitter using liquid adhesive and also some dots of glossy accents to the center of each one of the little flowers.
Since I love to add hand stitching to my pages, I hand-stitched the two banners that come in the Chit ChatTM set from this collection using brown embroidery thread. To add something extra to the banners, I added the number 12 (12th birthday of my sister) in gold using the Abigail Gold Foil Cardstock Stickers, and also included some cute little animals and enamel dots
Last but not least, for the title, I mixed the word "happy" from the Chit ChatTM set with the word "birthday" from the Happy Birthday Doodle CutsTM set. To make the "birthday" word stand out a little bit more, I cut out the word birthday from the 6 x 6 Dot-Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints in Bon Bon color and then two times more in white cardstock. Finally, with some liquid adhesive, I glued all of them together into a vellum piece which I fussy cut later on.
Now, let's take a look at the finished layout!
That is it for today! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and liked the ideas I shared. Also, don’t forget that if you have any questions just leave a comment below or send me an email.
