Cómo desenfocar tu texto

El lunes estuve en el blog de Project Life Café hablando de qué escribir en nuestras páginas de PL. Podéis verlo entero aquí.
Si alguna de vosotras está empezando su primer PL o lleva tiempo con él pero el tema del journaling se le atraviesa pasaos por allí! :)

He tratado de simplificar al máximo pero me he dado cuenta de que podría hablar más sobre cada una de las partes: Qué ponemos, Cómo lo ponemos y especialmente, todos tenemos algo que contar.
Así que en un futuro cercano intentaré abordar estos temas aquí en el blog.

Hoy os dejo aquí el tutorial rápido para desenfocar texto. Es algo muy sencillo y que es igualmente aplicable al Photoshop Elements. Quizás hay alguien que se pregunta cómo hacerlo del mismo modo que me lo pregunté yo cuando empecé!

Lo importante a tener en cuenta es que siempre que queráis desenfocar algo (Gausiano o no) tenéis que tener un área seleccionada. Y trabajar en la capa que esté el texto.
Por ejemplo: Si estáis retocando una imagen y le habéis añadido brillo; se os habrá creado una capa de brillo. Si trabajáis inmediatamente sobre esa capa (en la que sólo hay brillo) no obtendréis ningún cambio.
Ahorraros horas de cabezazos contra la pared! :D

It is only in spanish but after writing the whole post, I realized I have a lot more to say about each of the parts: What to write, How and Everyone of us has something to tell, so I will try to write about these things down here in the future.

I also made this fast tutorial about blurring your text with Photoshop. It is also applicable to Photoshop Elements. 
It is something that I struggled with when I began sharing my spreads. After several trial and errors and finding things out in the internet, I finally found this is the fastest way and a quite clean one.
1. Open your document
2. Sellect your text with the marquee tool.
3. Click on Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur
4. Move the bar until you are happy with the results.

A few things to know:

• Always make sure you have selected something before applying a blur.
• Also make sure you are working on the layer with the text. If the last thing you have done is increase brightness you will be right on brightness layer. If you apply the blur here you won't have any change.

Friday In Motion

[Acabando la semana con esta tarjetita medio mixed-media :D que os enseñé en este post. Me encantan estos tubitos con micah, cristales, purpurina, embossing de Stampendous ... Los tengo guardados como oro en paño, pero ya vale de acumular y más experimentar! Últimamente, echo de menos eso precisamente: experimentar. El poco tiempo que tengo parece que "corro" haciendo lo urgente pero hay poco margen para explorar posibilidades o combinaciones nuevas. Layouts! tengo ganas de hacer layouts! Vosotras hay algo que tengáis muchas ganas de scrapear?

[Wrapping up this week with this kind of little mix-media card :D that I showed you in this post. I love this tiny tubes of micah, crystals, embossing etc by Stampendous. I have them super hoarded... but this is the year of stop hoarding and let's use up what we have and let's experiment! Lately, I feel that I rush for everything and the few time I have I just run making what is urgent. There is no time to experiment with new things. I am so in the mood to experiment. I want to try things out on... layouts!

2 Maneras de imprimir con la Canon Selphy sin Wifi

Algunas de vosotras me habéis preguntado por la impresora Canon Selphy en el blog o en Instagram. Algunas porque ya la habéis comprado y la tenéis un poco atravesada (me suena mucho este tema! :D) o porque quizás os estáis planteando adquirirla para utilizarla en vuestro Project Life o trabajos de scrapbook en general.

Hoy os voy a explicar las dos maneras en las que yo he utilizado la Selphy para imprimir mis fotos... sin wifi. Sin Wifi porque nunca me ha funcionado la conexión de la impresora. Ni en la casa que vivía antes ni en la de ahora. He hecho todos los pasos para conectarme, me he bajado la App y nunca ha detectado el wifi conectado. Pedí ayuda externa y nada... Con la consiguiente frustración que supuso cuando me la compré, tuve que obviamente, utilizar la via USB para poder imprimir. (Tenéis via wifi, USB y tarjeta de memoria DLSR)

Así que nada de imprimir desde el móvil felizmente. Esto es lo que hago yo en casa para imprimir mis fotos del PL:

1º Manera:

1_primero pienso en qué tipo de bolsillo va a ir la foto, para saber la medida que necesito. Va a ir en un bolsillo 4x3 pulgadas? 4x6? Quiero que sea cuadrada? 3x3? Otra medida especial?
Abro mi foto en Photoshop (los mismos pasos os servirán para el Photoshop Elements) y le añado los retoques que necesite. Aunque normalmente, ya lo he hecho desde el móvil con la app VSCO.

2_Lo siguiente que hago siempre es abrir un nuevo documento/canvas en blanco de 4 pulgadas de alto por 6 pulgadas de ancho. Como es algo que hago a menudo, ya tengo esta medida guardada en la librería de Presets. 
El resto de características del documento las tendríais que cambiar a colores CYMK para imprimir.

3_Vuelvo a la foto que he abierto, pulso la combinación de teclas CONTROL A + CONTROL C, vuelvo al documento en blanco de 4x6 y pulso CONTROL V. Ajusto la foto dentro del canvas a la medida que quiero. En esta ocasión necesitaba una foto más pequeña de 4x3.
Lo último es guardar la imagen con Guardar Cómo -> .jpg Format Options Baseline Standard IMPORTANTE. Si no lo guardáis en Baseline Standard la Selphy no reconocerá el .jpg 

Por último, cojo un pendrive pongo todas las fotos que quiero imprimir dentro y una vez puestas dentro, lo conecto a la Canon Selphy por la conexión destinada para ello.

En la pantalla, os irán apareciendo una a una las fotos que reconoce, para seleccionarlas debéis pulsar arriba, donde pone COPIES +, y luego pulsáis derecha o izquierda para seleccionar la siguiente foto. (Si os sale un interrogante, en vez de una foto es porque no reconoce el formato)

Cuando tenéis seleccionadas las fotos que queréis, pulsáis el botón print que está más a la derecha. Y fin!

El tema está en que guardando el documento en 4x6 pulgadas exactas, forzáis a la impresora a imprimir en esa medida. Si cogéis una foto cualquiera que tengáis y la ponéis directamente en un pen o tenéis suerte y os funciona el WIFI y la metéis/enviáis a la impresora, ésta la expandirá de una manera que seguramente no os gustará. Y la opción EDIT es muy limitada, por no decir que no sirve de casi nada.

2º Manera:

Cuando no tenía acceso a ningún programa de edición o no sabía el truco de Baseline Standard (más o menos por aquí), utilizaba la aplicación del móvil PicFrame. Seleccionaba el marco que veis en azul que imprime dos fotos en un mismo cuadro y escogía las fotos desde la librería de mi móvil. Una vez hecho el collage; guardaba la imagen en el móvil y luego, las exportaba al ordenador. Una vez en el ordenador, las metía en el pen y del pen a la Selphy. 

La Selphy SÍ reconoce las fotos guardadas por PicFrame.

Una vez en la Selpy, sólo tenéis que repetir los mismos pasos que os he contado antes para imprimir.

Con el PicFrame, la impresora tampoco deforma la medida del documento. Entiendo que PicFrame debe forzar el documento a tener 15cm de largo.

Cosas importantes a tener en cuenta:

• El papel de la impresora, (una vez partidos los laterales por la línea de puntos algo que se hace al final, una vez la impresora ha terminado de imprimir), no mide 4x6 pulgadas o 10x15cm exactos. Esto es así (de frustrante) si necesitas que tus fotos tengan la medida estandard. Es decir, que si las ponéis en un bolsillo de fundas 4x6 bailarán mucho. 
• Cuando preparéis la fotos en el Photoshop o cualquier otro programa de edición, tenéis que dejar espacio a ambos lados porque al rasgar por la tira de puntos perforada os comerá un trozo de foto por lado. De aquí que en PicFrame, siempre dejaba a la parte exterior de la foto lo que me importaba menos que se cortara (sigh!) Por eso, veis la foto "Colmado" del revés, porque si la dejara del derecho, quedaría un trozo de plato cortado. Por poner otro ejemplo: No podéis poner dos fotos de 4x3 una al lado de la otra porque salen cortadas. Así que si quieres hacer 4x3 reales, tienes que gastar un papel cada vez.
• A mí las fotos me salen un poco más oscuras cuando las imprimo. Pero lo soluciono añadiéndole luz extra cuando las edito. He leído por internet que hay gente a las que les cambia mucho el aspecto. Este no es mi caso.
• En general, imprimir con la Selphy sale más caro que llevarlas a imprimir a una tienda de fotos.
• La tinta y el papel se venden en un pack. Cuando no encuentro en la Fnac o en Foto K, tengo que comprarlo en Amazon.

Con el tiempo he ido adaptándome a los inconvenientes y hay cosas que casi no me molestan pero sé positivamente que en el momento que pueda imprimir con mi impresora grande en papel de foto, me cambiaré. Aún así, si no hubiera tenido la Selphy, seguramente no hubiera podido hacer un Project Life anual como es el caso de estos dos años pasados... Y no hubiera aprendido tantos trucos para buscarme la vida con ella :D

Some of you asked me about the Canon Selphy printer via blog or via Instagram. Some of you have already bought it (and you feel a little frustrated. I have been there!) some of you are thinking about buying it.

Today I am going to show you the two ways I know to print with my Selphy without WIFI.

Yes, without wifi because it never worked out. It didn't work out in my former home, nor in the current one. I downloaded the app, I followed the instructions, I asked for help and nothing. So, after seeing the situation and feeling the frustration I had to use the other ways to print. You should have three ways to print: wifi, USB and camera memory card.

So, this is what I do to print my PL photos:

First Way:

1_First I think in what type of pocket my photo is going to be placed: A 4x6? a 4x3? square? especial format? Then, I make the adjustments the photo needs in case I haven't done it in my mobile phone with VSCOcam. (Which is what I normally do)

2_I always open a new 4x6 inches canvas. I already have a 4x6 preset in my librery so I only have to select it and open it.

3_I select again the photo I opened and click the combination keys CONTROL A + CONTROL C (for windows) and I select again the 4x6 canvas and click the combination CONTROL V. 

After that, I adjust the photo to the canvas. 

Finally, you "Save as" the image in .jpg -> FORMAT OPTIONS BASELINE STANDARD. This is very important because if you don't click this option, Selphy won't recognize the format.

The last thing I do is copy all the photos I want to print in a pendrive and I insert it in the Selphy USB port. In the screen, you will see the images the printer recognize. You have to select the ones you want to print by hiting the up button (COPIES +) and then go left or right and keep on selecting the images. When you are finished with the selection, press Print.

That's all.

The thing is that by saving the image with your editing software in 4x6 inches you force the printer to print that size. Otherwise, if you just use another size the printer will expand the photo. And edit options  inside the Selpy is very limited, not to say in almost nonexistent.

Second Way:

When I haven't access to any editing program (around here) or when I still didn't know that thing about the Baseline standard format (so I couldn't use photoshop), I used PicFrame App. I selected the one that is highlighted in blue above and I used the photos in my mobile library. After making the collage, I saved the collage in my camera roll, I exported it to my PC, I copied it in a pendrive and finally to the Selphy (remember Wifi doesn't work in mines :'D)

Selphy does recognize the PicFrame format and do not expand the photos (applause)

After that, you only need to repeat the previous steps to print.

Important things to know:

• Once you trim out the extra photo paper (thing that you need to do after you got the photo printed out) you won't have a true 4x6 inches photo. It is smaller. That means that if you need a true size photo to fit into a 4x6 project life pocket, it will pretty much dance inside the pocket.
• When you get your photos ready to print in the editing software, you need to leave some space on both sides of the canvas because a part of the image always get cut out on the borders. That is why you see the foto "Colmado" upside down in PicFrame app. I spinned it around because otherwise I will have part of the plate outside of the print zone. So, when I used PicFrame, I had to decide which part of the photo I cared less to be out (sigh!) Also, think that you can't print two 4x3 at once because they don't fit. 
• The photos appear darker when printed out. But I just increase the brightness in the editing process and that's ok. I heard some people had some serious problems with the appearance with the time, but it is not my case.
• It is more expensive to print with the Canon selphy than to send the photos to a print shop.
• Paper and ink are sold in a pack. When I can't find it in Fnac or Foto K, I have to order it in Amazon.

As time went by, I eventually adapt myself to these headaches and now there are things that almost don't bother me, but I know that I will change to the big printer as soon as I have the chance. Anyway, I could possibly never have been able to follow up with my Project Life if I haven't got the Selphy printer with me... and I would never have learnt so many tricks to print if I haven't had so many problems :D

DIY: Pinta tus cajas de madera

Tenía estas cajitas desde hacía ya meses y lo único que necesitaba era tiempo para poder customizarlas. La idea principal era hacer una bonita casa para las tarjetas de Project Life, que sinceramente, aún iban de hogar en hogar. El sistema de organización no me funcionaba. Mejor no os cuento cómo las tenía antes... :D Ahora, en estas cajas de madera, lucen tanto las tarjetas, como otros embellishments de material de scrap. 
No vengo a descubrir las américas con este paso a paso pero ya que las pintaba, decidí hacer un pequeño step by step para vosotras:

Utilicé las pinturas que compré recientemente en Kits de Somni y dos de Golden que ya tenía: Titanium white y Carbon black. Un pincel y whasi tape para enmascarar.

Quizás os preguntaréis si tenía algún plan antes de empezar... La respuesta es: Triángulos. Nada más! :D Intenté hacer un pequeño esbozo pero tenía tantas ganas de empezar que al final, improvisé.

Empecé por el lateral de la caja desde una esquina y fui avanzando hasta el otro lado alternando los colores.Principalmente, intenté ceñirme, máximo a tres de ellos pero en alguna de las cajas me dejé llevar :P

Para realizar formas tan simples como un triángulo, podéis evitaros trazar el dibujo con lápiz sobre la caja utilizando cinta de carrocero o washi tape para dibujar las formas y luego pintar dentro de ellas con un pincel.

Como hace calor y la madera es muy porosa (y no está barnizada) no tenía que esperar mucho entre color y color pero es mejor que os aseguréis de que esté seco. No sea que peguéis celo sobre la pintura húmeda.

NOTAS: ¿Por qué he utilizado washi tape?Para la primera caja utilicé cinta de carrocero o el típico celo de pintor pero la pintura se corrió por debajo. Después, probé con washi de MT y el resultado es el que veis. Deja un trazo más limpio y fino.

Aseguraos de que el celo está bien pegado a la madera. Es fácil que la pintura se cuele por debajo.

No seáis ansias y levantéis el washi tape antes de hora u os puede pasar como a mí con el triángulo rosa: La pintura se coló hacia abajo como veis en el tutorial.

Cuando levaba unas tres cajas, decidí que era el momento de hacer algo diferente (soy mujer de repetir lo que me gusta hasta la saciedad!) Así que cambié los triángulos por topos (pero sólo un poco!):

Aquí podéis ver cómo quedaron alguna de las cajas:

 Da gusto tener estas cajitas sobre la mesa! Aunque las cosas no estén muy ordenadas dentro de ellas, la sensación ahora es totalmente diferente. Da gusto mirarlas!

Espero que os haya gustado. Como veis, es fácil decorar tus cajas con poco material y el resultado es bastante resultón, no?

I have had these wooden boxes totally untouched for months. I just wanted some spare time to dive deep and make them mine.

At first, I just wanted to paint a beautiful home for my PL cards but they ended up being boxes for my scrap supplies too.

I am not discovering anything new here, but I thought I could make a little tutorial for you while I was painting my boxes on a sunday morning.
I used some new paints that I bought on Kits de Somni's shop and two Golden bottles that I had in my stash: Titanium white and Carbon black. I also used a standard brush and some washi tape to trace the drawing.

Maybe, you are curious and you ask yourself if I had designed the shapes on paper before starting to work. The asnwer is: triangles. That is all I had in mind. I was so in the mood to paint that I improvised all the boxes. I just couldn't wait!

I started from one corner and moved forward to the other. I tried to confine myself to just 3 colors and I mainly did it. Almost. You will see some examples where I just ignored my orders. :D

Washi tape here has two functions: Trace the shape and prevent the paint from surpass to the neighbor triangles.

Notes: At first, I used paint tape to mask the paint but it flooded to the bottom as you can see in the tutorial. I discovered washi tape leaves a neater and cleaner line.

Make sure the washi tape is well adhered to the wood, sliding your finger over the strip.

Also, do not be eager to move forward (like me) and wait some minutes for the paint to dry. You do not want to place a strip of washi tape over wet paint! Doesn't look good!

When I counted 3 boxes I decided to make something different (but just a little bit) I am that kind of person who repeats on the things she likes till I get bored (desings, colors, meals)
So I went for dots. You can see my approach watching the animated gif.

Now, I have these boxes all over my desk and although they are not totally tided up, the vibe here is far more festive. They are gorgeous to look at.

Above you can check out some of the boxes I made. I hope you like them. 

You can see you do not need much to customize your wooden boxes :)

Project Life:: Mayo Uno

Este fin de semana me he puesto las pilas y he acabado 3 páginas dobles de mayo. Bien! Las fotos están incluso editadas. Así que espero ir subiendo las semana tan pronto como pueda!

Mi estado mental ha intentado ser: Ves a lo sencillo y avanza. Aunque hay veces que me lío y no puedo evitarlo! Como veis con el bolsillo especial que da título a la semana :P

Para documentar esta semana de mudanza, he reciclado el papel de esta bolsa que comenté aquí, tarjetas de Studio Calico y la tarjeta Today de Kelly Purkey.

Como me faltaba sitio para poner una foto de uno de los cuencos que hice en el taller de cerámica, tuneé un poco la tarjeta de Kelly Purkey:

Como veis, se trata de hacer un sencillo corte en la tarjeta un poquito más grande que la foto que querías esconder. Y después añadirle una pestaña o tirador para que sea más fácil de extraer. Como la tarjeta va a estar dentro del bolsillo, no os tenéis que preocupar de que se salga por detrás.

I've been on fire this weekend and I've made 3 double pages for my Project Life! Wohoo! I tried to keep in mind the all so heard mantra: "Marta, keep it simple and just move forward" And I did... sometimes. ^^' I couldn't help to play around making some especial pockets. I just love it. 
Here you have one of them. I took the Today card by Kelly Purkey and made a simple cut on the middle top part of the card. This cut was just a little longer than the photo I wanted to hide in order for it to slide properly. Then, I glued down a tab on the photo. It allows us to pull it out easily.
The rest of the cards are from Studio Calico, one patterned paper and the top letf card (LHS) is from a shopping bag. You can see it here.
I have the rest of the pages edited. I hope to post them soon!

Tutorial:: Fondo layout con mini stencil + glitter!

Hoy os traigo mi último post para Scrapaddictes. Un sencillo paso a paso para que creéis un fondo con una mini stencil y un bolsillo de purpurina.
Antes de seguir con el tuto que pudistéis ver aquí, quería agradecer a Ana que me viniera a llamar para formar parte del bonito proyecto que es Scrapaddictes. Me sentí muy afortunada y me sigo sintiendo muy afortunada de haber estado allí rodeada de las súper Leti, María y Violeta. Han sido unos meses llenos de ilusión y trabajo. Yo he decidido dejarlo aquí. Tengo ganas de hacer un parón importante y hacer cambios. 
Deseo lo mejor a Ana y Scrapaddictes. Yo les seguiré de cerca por supuesto. Además, habéis visto el pedazo de nuevo equipo que tienen?? Grandes cosas les esperan! :*

Y ahora, a por el tutorial! Os lo dejo aquí tal y como está en el post.
Se trata de una sencilla manera de personalizarte una típica cartulina blanca bazzil. Como sabéis, me gusta trabajar con tintas, pero generalmente, de una manera muy sutil y con mucho blanco. Yo he escogido 2 tintas con efectos muy suaves: la dorada y la coral para hacer el fondo, pero vosotras buscad, si queréis, unas con más saturación de color según vuestro estilo!

He escogido un elemento principal para el fondo: la mini stencil con el símbolo Ampersand (que parece que sigue de tendencia durante un tiempo aún!) y he empezado con el spray dorado creando una línea de ampersands en la parte de abajo del layout. Siempre con el mismo color.
Nota: Yo suelo pulverizar el spray a unos 13cm del papel. Pero si sé que que contienen mucho pigmento, alzo aún más la mano. Siempre, haced pruebas en un papel a parte si no os gustan las sorpresas!  

El exceso de tinta lo he utilizado para estamparlo en un die cut (de la silhouette) que quería que apareciera en el layout. Aquí se aprovecha todo!  Más adelante,  he hecho lo mismo con el color coral.

Pasamos al segundo color: He hecho otra línea en medio del papel con el spray coral. Como veis, éste se ve bastante más a simple vista. Y luego he repetido otra de dorado en la parte de arriba.

He añadido unas gotitas de manera dispersa de los mismos colores por toda la página y el resultado es este:

Es difícil que veáis aquí el brillo y el nacarado pero en los detalles del final, lo veréis mejor.

El siguiente paso, es un elemento decorativo para el layout. Un bolsillo con purpurina! Quién dice que las fundas protectoras sólo se utilizan en los minis o PL? La que veis aquí pertenece al mini álbum para fotos Instagram de We R Memory keepers. Es chiquitina y el tamaño es ideal para que sirva como otro embellishment más en una página 30×30

Simplemente he cogido la purpurina y la he echado dentro. Encima, he pegado el título de la página y lo he dejado en blanco para que resalte sobre el glitter. Para que no se salgan los polvitos  podéis coserla o poner un poco de pega por dentro que cuando se seca es transparente, como hice yo. No lo he tapado del todo porque me gusta el efecto de que parezca que el glitter sale del protector y continúa hacia la parte de arriba de la página.

Lo siguiente que he hecho es estampar la palabra fun por el centro del layout en diagonal, tal y como está pegado el título en el protector. Luego se ve muy poquito, pero recordad, que lo importante siempre son los detalles 

Para finalizar, viene el montaje de la página: un trozo de cartulina rectangular que atraviesa todo el layout, un par de rectángulos para hacer layering, los corazones que hemos pintado antes, la “bolsita” con la purpurina y el título, y algunos 3D dots debajo de la foto  para resaltarla. He doblado también los extremos del papel amarillo a rayas para añadirle interés. Finalmente, algunas gotitas de spray negro aquí y allá para darle contraste a la página.

Lo último: el journaling, las ampersands de madera y los enamels dots, que no falten! Y aquí tenéis el resultado.

Como os decía, me encanta que parezca que la purpurina sale del bolsillo y continúe por la página…

This was my last work for Scrapddictes. An easy way to made your own background with one little stencil and 2 color sprays. Before starting the step by step, that you could see here, I wanted to thank Ana for asking me to join her team for her beautiful new project that is Scrapaddictes. I felt very lucky and I still feel very lucky to have been part of this amazing team with these super ladies Leti, Maria and Violeta. It has been some months full of  illusion and work. I decided to quit here. I want to make an important stop and re-thinking and make changes.

My best wishes for Ana and Scrapaddictes. Have you seen their new team? We are going to see amazing works for sure! :*

And now, let's proceed with the tutorial!

This is about personalize your own background from a basic bazzil (you know this is one of the things that I like doing the most) This time, I used 2 sprays with a subtle tone (coral and gold)  This is my style but, you can choose 2 with higher concentration of pigment if you prefer.

As a main element on the background, I chose the ampersand mini stencil (that trendy character! :D) and I started with the gold spray creating one lines of ampersands at the bottom of the layout. Always with the same color.

Note: I normally spray at 13 cm aprox from the bazzil. But if I know, it is a high concentration ink I raise my hand a little bit. If you don't surprises, test on a scrap before! :D

I also stamped the ink excess on a die-cut (from my silhouette) that I wanted to use on the layout We are not wasting anything here! :D Afterwards, I made the same with the other color.

Now, let's change the color. I sprayed the coral one like a second row right above the golden line. It is more or less at the middle of the page. You can see on the photos that it is more visible than the golden spray.

Then, I repeated a last line of "gold ampersands" at the top and I made some splashes of ink all through the layout.

Now, let's go for the glitter pocket! :D I picked up a Werememory keepers plastic pocket form my stash and I just pour inside some standard glitter. Who says the page protectors are only suitable for the binders? :D

This tiny one is perfect for a layout!

You can stitch it to prevent the glitter from spilling out or attach it with a staple or stick it with invisible glue like me. But I didn't glue all the pocket because I like the effect of the spray above it. It looks like the glitter keeps on scattering from the pocket up to the top. Afterwards, I glued the title "great times" down on the pocket. I didn't paint it because I want it to contrast on the glitter.

The next step was stamping the little word fun on angle at the center of the layout. Just emulating the position of the tiltle.

It barely can be seen at the end, but remember the details are what matter the most!

The last step for this layout was assemble all the parts of the page: one large piece of paper that goes from one side to the other, 2 small rectangle for layering, the hearts die-cut that we painted with the spray, the glitter pocket with the title, some 3D dots behind the photo and I also bended the yellow paper to add some interest to the page.

The last I made was the journaling, the ink splashes and the litle details you see at the top and at the bottom: the enamels and the ampersands.

You can see above the details and the pearl efect of the golden spray.

Paso a paso: Fondo con 1 Sello y 3 tintas

El otro día os enseñaba esta página y os comenté que venía con tutorial.  Vamos a ser precisos y llamémosle : Un paso a paso del "cómo se hizo". :D

Advertencia: hay que estar muy motivado para hacerlo :D Porque lleva bastante tiempo.  Es verdad, que siempre podéis parar y seguir en otro momento o dejarlo para otro día, pero si os pasa como a mí que yo tengo que recoger cuando me voy a dormir porque necesito la cama libre... :)  o sois ansiosas (también como yo...) Esto es para vosotras.

Aquí os enseño cómo lo hice y el método que descubrí para ir más rápida:

Material: El sello de Studio Calico/Paislee Press "enjoy.every.moment" una tinta dorada de Brilliance, y dos chalk inks de Prima Marketing: Old Rose y Pastel Peach. Un lápiz, una goma de borrar tipo lápiz, una regla y un papel bazzil normal.

Primera Parte: Medir. Sí, medir!! :D Calculando bien previamente, la distancia que necesitaría, hice puntos, cada uno en un extremo de la página para luego unirlos con una línea. De esta forma, llené toda la página de líneas rectas donde estampar el sello.

Para calcular el espacio que necesitaba entre línea y línea, estampé una fila con el sello y las 3 tintas. Uno tras otro en orden: Dorado, anaranjado, rosa. Siempre va a ser repetido en el mismo orden. Y me fijé cuánto espacio verticalmente ocupaba el sello estampado.  Eran unos 4 milimetros pero yo dejé 5 para que quedara un poco espaciado.

Comentaros que hice algunas filas más para estar segura de que los colores quedarían bien entre ellos antes de seguir con toda la página! (no vaya a ser!)

 Segunda Parte: Esto es lo que me ayudó a no abandonar! Y el verdadero truco.
Para no tener que limpiar el sello cada vez que estampaba y luego cambiaba de color, estampé toda la página primero con un color, luego con otro color y finalmente con el último.
Y para hacer esto, busqué pautas de repetición.
Como había hecho tres filas ya de prueba, sabía dónde había que posicionar cada color. Así que cogí el dorado, y me fijé  en que la primera "e" del enjoy dorado siempre coincidía verticalmente con la "j" del enjoy dorado. Por lo tanto, fui estampado hacia arriba siguiendo esta pauta (saltándome una fila)
Después escogí otro color, el rosa, e hice algo parecido: Me fijé dónde coincidía una letra en concreto del rosa, para hacerla encajar en cada fila con el dorado. 
Con el rosa, por ejemplo, me di cuenta de que la "j" del "enjoy" rosa encajaba entre la Y griega de "every" y la m de "minute" de la palabra dorada. Así fui subiendo y estampando donde tocaba.
Por último, solo tuve que rellenar los huecos con el último color; el naranja.
Dependiendo del sello que tengáis, será más fácil o más difícil encontrar las pautas de repetición para hacerlos coincidir.

La última parte, consistió en borrar las líneas de lápiz. Primero utilicé una goma de borrar estandard como la que veis a la izquierda... Y lo que pasó es que me llevé por delante medio estampado! 
No lo había pensado. Es la desventaja de la chalk ink! que el polvillo se desprende y hasta lo puedes borrar! Si lo hacéis con otro tipo de tinta no os pasará.
Finalmente, borré todas las líneas con muchísimo cuidado con una goma de borrar tipo lápiz. Afilando la goma a menudo.

Así es como quedó el fondo tras borrar las líneas de lápiz:

As I commented in my previous post, here, you have a step by step tutorial or "how to make" a background with one stamp and 3 inks. 
Important note: you really have to be in the mood for doing this. The truth is that it really takes a long time. You just can stop and carry on on another day, but if you are like me, you need to clean everything before you are going to bed (because you need it to sleep!) you know what I mean.
This is how I made it:
I just used this Studio Calico/Paislee Press stamp, 1 golden Brilliance ink, 2 chalk inks from Prima Marketing( old rose and pastel peach), one pencil, one eraser, one ruler and one white bazzil.
First Part:
I mesured (yes, I mesured :D) how tall the stamp was in order to make the lines to place the stamp repeated in a row.
It was 4 millimetres tall but I left 5 milimiters just to give the pattern a little bit of extra space.
You can see on the images that I trace the line making two points on each side of the page. 
I also made several rows stamping the stamp with the colours I wanted, just to be sure they will look nice. Always the same order: gold, peach and rose, gols,peach rose...
Second Part:
Here goes the trick. In order to not to clean the stamp everytime I changed the colour I stamped first all the golden ones, then the pink ones and finally the peach ones)
To achieve this, you just need to find a guideline. 
As I already stamped three rows at the bottom of the page, I could see some guidelines. For example: Starting with gold; I see the first "e" of enjoy always coincided vertically with the "j" from the golden ejoy.  That is how I stamped all the way up following this pattern. (skipping one row at a time)
With colour pink, I made something similar. I see the "j" from enjoy was in the middle of the "Y" from every and the" m" from minute on the golden stamp.
So, I stamped all the way up again. 
Finally I just filled up the gaps with colour peach.
You can make your own guidelines or look for them when you create your background.
The Last Part: 
I erased the pencil lines. But be careful with the ink. First of all, make sure it is completely dried. Or just do not forget that chalk ink can be erased with a rubber!! Like I did ^^' I erased one bit of the pattern! So, I choose a pencil-rubber and this time I was very accurate with each line.
So this is how I made it. Some of you commented that you were going to make it. I hope you give it a try and show it to me! If you have any question, leave it on the comments sections and I will answer you!

Tutorial :: Mini Encuadernado II

Buenos días! 

Como os dije en este post, aquí tenéis el "cómo se hizo" :D o tutorial de encuardernado II  a.k.a El modo Sencillo, que llamo yo. "Sencillo" respecto al Tutorial Mini Encuadernado I que podéis ver aquí.

Vamos allá!

Para empezar, en la primera foto podéis ver las páginas sueltas del Álbum Cru&Cruni, cuando ya había acabado de scrapearlas.

Para las portadas utilicé dos trozos de cartón duro y las forré con papel estampado (Aquí sólo forré una cara para que se entendiera mejor el proceso) 

Para el lomo, utilicé tela adhesiva.

La idea es unir todas las páginas entre si. Yo lo hago con celo de doble cara que es el adhesivo no líquido más fuerte que conozco. Del tipo que si te equivocas, así se queda!

Una vez unida cara con cara todas las hojas del álbum os tiene que quedar más o menos así. Dependiendo de lo lleno que tengáis el interior.
Truco: Si os fijáis, en medio hay una parte más abierta. A veces, coloco el celo de doble cara más hacia el interior en alguna página de en medio si realmente el álbum va a ser muy gordito. De esta manera, evitas que quede muy estrecho por el lomo y muy abierto por el extremo.

Después hago un simulacro de lo que me ocupa el lomo del álbum con las hojas ya pegadas entre si y hago una marca en la tela donde irán las portadas... O directamente, me hago una idea mental. (con lo poco que soy de medir, ya os digo que esto es lo que hago normalmente ;)

Como la tela adhesiva nunca pega lo suficiente para soportar la tensión de un encuadernado, utilizo cola blanca de carpintero (yo la compré en el Servei Estació/Servicio Estación) Que es una cola líquida muy resistente. Según aprendí en un curso de encuadernación, es muy útil para ciertos tipos de encuadernaciones y por lo que he podido comprobar, para éste también.

Quito el plástico protector y pongo la cola encima de la tela. Sólo en la parte donde va a tocar con la portada (que está boca abajo)

Después pongo la parte de la portada que tiene que ir encima de la cola con cuidado y me aseguro de que esté todo recto.
Dejo las portadas a parte para que se sequen. (Planas sin cerrarlas) De hecho, no tardan mucho. Vosotras mismas lo veréis porque ya no se moverán. Pero si queréis estar seguras, dejadlo una media hora. (en un clima seco sería más que suficiente :D)

Después escojo dos páginas, una por la parte del principio del álbum y otra hacia el final. Les hago un agujero arriba y otro abajo a 1.50cm/ 2cm del borde. Esto es una cuestión de estética. Como os guste más.

Podéis aprovechar y colocar las portadas con el lomo pegado debajo del álbum (como en la foto 4)  y hacer el agujero a las páginas y al lomo a la vez y así no tendréis que medir.

Anti-números girl.

Aquí lo importante es que los agujeros de las páginas del álbum y del lomo coincidan lo máximo posible porque así os quedará más sujeto y estable.

Y ahora toca coser:  Escogéis la página por donde queráis empezar, la que estaba más al principio o más hacia el final. 

Recordatorio: Si empezáis a coser dentro del álbum, tendréis el lazo dentro. Si empezáis fuera os quedará el lazo fuera. También según vuestros gustos.

Yo quiero que esta vez el lazo quede dentro así que escojo una página y meto la aguja con el divine twine desde dentro por uno de los agujeros de arriba y salgo fuera atravesando la tela también. Recorro todo el lomo y meto la aguja por el agujero de abajo atravesando la tela y la página y aparezco dentro otra vez.

Luego hago un nudo con los dos extremos (y un lazo para que quede bonito ;) y repito el mismo procedimiento con la otra parte con OTRO trozo de hilo (como si cosierais dos álbumes a parte, pero recordemos que está TODO pegado) 

Si empezáis desde dentro os tiene que quedar así:

Os preguntaréis: Por qué coses por dos partes del álbum si todas las hojas están pegadas entre si?
Porque al haber tantas páginas en álbum y a la vez, pesar tanto, los dos cosidos hacen que el lomo no se mueva tanto. Queda todo más apretado y más estable. No es necesario pero  le añade seguridad y estabilidad.

Después, viene la cuestión de las portadas: Os fijaréis que en los bordes que separa el álbum de las portadas acecha la tela blanca adhesiva. Chan-chán! 
Como es muy feo hay que solucionarlo. Yo sé de dos formas:

 Una es cubriendo con washi tape de arriba a abajo ambos bordes. Aquí el washi tape ancho os vendrá genial.

La otra es cubriendo la página y la portada con otra página encima. Yo la pego con celo de doble cara.

Este es el método que me gusta más porque es lo que le añade más estabilidad y seguridad al conjunto. Si se soltara el hilo, el álbum jamás se caería. Aún así considero que el cosido es necesario para mantener el lomo de las hojas cerca del lomo de la portada.

Here you have the tutorial I mentioned on this post. This is the easy bookinbinding toturial. Easier compared to Mini Encuadernado I that you can check here.

Here we go!

On the first photo, you can see the pages of the album folded once they were scrapped. I  used cardboard for the covers and adhesive fabric (tissue adhesive is called) for the spine.

The idea is to adhere all the pages side by side. For that, I used double-sided tape because this is the solid strongest adhesive that I know.

Once you have all the pages glued down, they should look like the foto 3

Tip:   I place a strip of double side tape a little bit far from the edge on one of the pages in the middle. It makes the album wider on the spine; this way you avoid having a tight spine and a big openning. This could happen if you tend to scrap with a lot of dimension! :D

Then I place the album on top of the cover and the fabric to measure the distance I need for the spine. As I do not like measuring, I normally go eye balling. ^^' foto 4

After that, I spread a coat of white glue on top of the fabric BUT only on the part that the covers are going to be touching the fabric. (this is why you have measured!) Afterwards, I place the covers on top of the glue. I make sure they are aligned.

Letf the covers flat a side and wait for them to dry. It doesn't take long but wait for 30 minutes if you want to be sure.

Now is the time when you choose two pages, one from the beginning and one of the last part of the album and then you make two holes on each page. foto 6 One at the top and one at the bottom. 1.50 cm/ 2 c.m from the edge. You can take advantage of the moment and place your covers and spine bellow (like Foto 4) and go through the spine too.

The important thing here is to align the holes of the spine with the holes in the pages. Your final album will be steadier.

Now let's go sewing! :D 

You can start from the page of your choice (the one with holes from the beginning or the one with the holes from the final side of the album)

Reminder: If you start from the inside to the outside you will have the bow inside. And if you start from the outside, therefore the bow will be shown outside of the spine.

I want my bow to be inside so I start from the inside to the outside (foto 7)

I put the needle in the top hole and go through the album and ALSO through the hole on the fabric spine. Now I go all along the spine and I insert the needle at the bottom going through the fabric and the hole in the page. Once I 'm inside, I attach the both sides of the thread and I make a bow.

I repeat this whole thing with another piece of thread at the other side of the album where there are the other two holes remaining.

It has to look like Foto 8.

You may also ask: why is there two pair of holes if all the pages are attached.

The reason is beacuse of the weight and witdth of the album. If you attach the pages to the spine from two different parts  of the album it will be steadier and firm.

Now it comes the time of the covers. You will see a peek of the spine between the album and the cover. Ah! This is ugly... foto 9
I know two ways of solving this issue: With wide washi tape all along the edge as seen in foto 10 or placing another page on top of it. foto 11. I attach the page with double-sided tape.

This is the method I prefer. It is the more secure for the album. In case the thread fall off, the pages would never will. In any case, I think the thread is a must to hold the album to the fabric spine.
