My Swoon for this week comes from:
Just For Now
(Sea Breeze #4)
by
Abbi Glines
Warning: This book is recommended for 18+ readers due to its adult content.
First - The Blurb:
An insatiable attraction heats to the boiling point in this steamy book set in the shore town of Sea Breeze from the author of the white-hot The Vincent Boys.
Preston is one bad boy. And Amanda has harbored a crush on him for forever. When she finally makes her move on him, it does not end well. But still, she can’t resist him. Especially now that he seems to be pursuing her, too.
No one wants wants them to be together. Not Amanda’s brother Marcus, who is on the verge of his marriage to Low, and definitely not any of Preston’s buddies. They know way too much about Preston’s dark side. Even Preston realizes he’s not good enough for someone like her.
But Amanda believes there is more to Preston than his bad boy persona, and she is determined to unearth what he’s hiding behind his seductive blue eyes—secrets that could explain his actions. Secrets Amanda might not be able to forgive.
Yet the dangerous attraction persists...and neither Preston nor Amanda is going to deny it.
Second - The Swoon:
"I'm gonna kiss you this time, sweetheart. I can't help it," he whispered as his mouth lowered and covered mine.
From the look on his face, I expected his kiss to be demanding. Instead his soft lips were gentle. Almost like he was savoring me. His tongue slipped into my mouth and tangled with mine. Each caress had me bucking my body to get closer to him. I couldn't touch him. He had my hands still pinned back with one of his. So I kissed him back as wildly and freely as I could. Everything I felt for him came pouring out of me.
For years Preston only saw Amanda as his best friends little sister. Now she's all grown up and he sees her differently. Way differently.
Watching Preston struggle between what he wants and what he knows he shouldn't have was a little heart wrenching at times. However, I still enjoyed every minute. Another great novel by Abbi Glines.
