Why I do what I do: Flashback Friday

Musical. Our opening night is tonight. All that work. All that stress. All those missed times with family and friends. This is why I do what I do.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, at the very same high school, on the very same stage that will be performing Beauty and the Beast tonight, I played the lead in South Pacific. I was Nellie Forbush. One the very same stage that looks so very different. We didn't have much of a set just some palm trees sticking out of a painted stage-one side tan for sand, one side green for grass. A few benches, a few chairs, a small working shower, one rolling flat, many costumes clothes from our own closets, make-up from our bathrooms.
I sang my heart out...


I had a lot of fun...


I fell in love with my husband...


I do this because I love my students. I do this because I love being part of the stage. I do this because although the set is now much bigger, better, and made of steel, many of the costumes are made especially for us that look like teapots, forks, plates and brooms, there are working chandeliers that move up and down, and a working fountain, but what it all boils down to is hardworking high school students and memories that will last a lifetime.

ANOTHER new banner...

Flashback Friday

It was fate, destiny, or hereditary that I would end up loving Dr Pepper...don't ya think?

Today is April 5

this is the view from my back porch...

Tomorrow it is supposed to be 57 degrees. I love Ohio weather.

P.S. Just in case anyone missed it, Florida WON the NCAA tourney...know what that means? I won our family bracket. That's right, the whole thing. And let me remind you that although I am an avid Baseball fan, I know nothing about college basketball. I chose my winners based on their mascots. Know what else that means? I beat Matt. Yep. For the entire next year I can say that I beat Matt. I must relish as it may never happen again. Don't worry Matt. I'm done :)

p.p.s. I went outside to take this picture this morning still bleary-eyed and zombie like. Bj saw me out there with (mama skip this part) no coat on and flip flops and didn't realize that I had a camera in my hand. He thought I had my arms up in a weirdo position and had somehow gone bonkers. Just thought you might like to know.

C.C. left hurt, the new guy for Coco Crisp missed a catch, not Omar (J-HOnny) is still on the team and there was a rain delay...BUT WHEN THE GAME WAS POSTPONED, WE WERE TIED 3-3! No matter what, I'm just glad they are back.

Hip hip hooray! The Indians open today!!

Dear Indians,
No matter what, we will watch you, listen to you on the radio, and root for you, but could this year be "the" year? It would be great. Thanks.

What I've been doing...and the color of the day.

I have decided the color of the day will be green, not only because I just finished this LO last night, but also because Lily tried peas for the first time today and LOVED them. I will try today, to find everything I can that is green and cherish it because spring is coming and I am so happy for that!!

yes I realize you all have seen this picture a lot, and may be getting a bit tired of it, but it is my favorite picture anyone has ever taken of me (taken by Elizabeth) and I am going to use it as much as I would like thankyouverymuch. :)
