Sunday Night @ 7pm

Every Sunday night at 7pm I would sit down in front of our TV (at first a pumpkin colored b&w thing that was about the size of a small computer monitor) and watch The Muppet Show. I loved this show. This show introduced me to John Denver on Grandma's Feather Bed, Pigs in Space, the Swedish Chef, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Fozzi Bear, and of course Kermit the Frog. I think this show gave me my first thoughts of becoming a singer and performer. I mean, what would be better than hanging out with Kermit? Elizabeth and Matt are thinking about carrying on this Sunday @ 7 tradition with M and G after Christmas (figured it was ok to mention as M can't read quite yet...I think) which makes me so happy. It would make me so sad to think that my nieces and my daughter don't have "the Muppet show tonight!" to look forward too. Although there are many new toys and books and music to entertain our children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, don't forget about your old favorites now available remastered and restored in a boxset of DVDs.

Gonna be a reader...

Why I love Target

1. It's not Walmart
2. You can be cool and make it sound French
3. It's still not Walmart
4. They have a growing scrapbook section
5. I seem to find something I didn't know I could live without every time I go there
6. Their cereal is much cheaper than the grocery store
7. It is still NOT Walmart
8. Their Christmas section is in full bloom right now...I love Christmas decorations
9. I love the bookcase I got at Target...in fact I have FOUR of them
10. On Thursday night, while shopping at Target, I dropped a $20 bill at the register. I didn't notice and drove home. On arriving at home I realized that my hard earned cash was missing so I called Target in a panic knowing that there was no way I would ever see that money again. To my surprise after telling them what register I was at, they said "Oh yes we have it." Hooray! Yipeee! YES!! And that is the most important reason why I LOVE TARGET!!!!

Don't write him off yet...

Bj has updated his blog with THREE posts. He has asked me to inform you when he does it now.

Merry Holidays, Happy Christmas

Ok, so those who know me know that I LOVE Christmas and all of the not so religious traditions associated with it (i.e. Christmas Eve Storytime and bed presents) but I just saw the news report (mentioned on Any Day a Beautiful Change ) on "religious" groups banning certain stores because they say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Shame on those groups spending their time and money and effort on this ridiculous request. They need to relook at the meaning and point of this holiday which is not, last time I checked, shopping. It is also extremely arrogant to think that the entire world follows the same religion. Don't get me wrong, I am a Christmas-aholic, giddy at seeing How the Grinch Stole Christmas, love singing carols, and so excited about Lily's first christmas this year, and the first christmas that she will actually remember, but I will make sure that she also knows the real meaning of Christmas and perhaps even more important, the significance of other religious beliefs and the diversity they bring to the world.

Name That Place!

Hint: you may find the answer on this blog. First to answer will get a prize (but don't get too excited as it is a free honey)

Did everybody notice?

I just wanted to point out to those of you who may not have noticed in the second picture of Lily in her Lion costume. I must include that I did not notice when I took the picture, nor when I posted the picture. It was just too funny to remove.
