Reindeer Head Tag

Here's my second set of tags for Christmas this year.  I used Cookie Cutter Christmas by Stampin' Up along with the matching punch.  I CASE'd it from an idea I found on the internet, but the photo is not watermarked, so I have no idea who to credit for it.  I used a different sentiment stamp set and tag die, but the basic idea is the same.

I cut a tag with the Tag,You're It die by My Favorite Things from Crumb Cake cardstock.  I stamped the reindeer image on the same cardstock so the edges would blend into the background and then colored it with Copic markers.

I used Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops to give shiny dimension to the eyes.  For the nose, I used Glossy Accents over the red marker.

On the tag, I glued a strip of green patterned paper from the Warmth & Cheer pad by Stampin' Up.  I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Cheer by Avery Elle using Dark Chocolate ink.  Then I popped up the reindeer head with foam tape and tied on some narrow green ribbon.

Simple and cute!

Stamps:  Cookie Cutter Christmas (Stampin' Up); Christmas Cheer (Avery Elle)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Warmth & Cheer pad (Stampin' Up)
Copic:  E57, E59, R59, RV17
Misc: Cookie Cutter Builder punch (Stampin' Up);  Tag, You're It die (My Favorite Things); Ebony Black (Nuvo Crystal Drops); Glossy Accents (Ranger); green ribbon

Bunny in a Tangle Tag

Isn't this image fun?  It's from the All is Bright stamp set by the Cat's Pajamas.  It probably wasn't the smartest idea to pick this one when I was pressed for time, but I couldn't resist it paired with this funny sentiment from Dear Santa by Avery Elle.

I stamped the bunny on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  Remember that I make four tags of each design!  It's an annual mystery tags tradition that I have done with my kids for years.  Since three of my kids are now adults and only one is left at home, it's one tradition that will end eventually.  (sniff)  It was so awesome to have everyone together for Christmas last year!

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then mounted my white square onto a Pure Poppy cardstock tag cut with the Tag Sale: Quilted die by Papertrey Ink.  I don't think you can see it well in the photos, but I added Glossy Accents on each lightbulb.  I love the extra dimension it gives them!

This time, I used silver ribbon to finish the tag.  Stay tuned for the final tag tomorrow!

Stamps:  All is Bright (The Cat's Pajamas); Dear Santa (Avery Elle)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Paper:  White, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)

Tree Tag

We spent Christmas away from home last year.  Since my daughter Melody was graduating from BYU-Idaho on Dec 19th and my oldest son Matthew and his wife Meghan were expecting a baby on Dec 25th, it just made sense to stay in Utah for the holidays.  It was the first time we've all been together for Christmas in three years.  It's all this mom wanted!  Benjamin got home from his mission last November and it was wonderful to have him home.  We left him behind in Utah after the holidays so he could start college at BYU there in Provo.  He's lucky to have his older brother nearby.  Our little grandson Elliott was born a week early on Dec 18th so we got to spend lots of time with him before coming back.  This grandmother wishes they weren't so far away!

Anyway, I didn't get my Christmas tags made until the day before we left for our trip.  Talk about last minute!  This year I made five sets of tags.  I finally took pictures of them yesterday and will be posting them all over the next few days.  Here's the first design.

I cut a tag from Early Espresso cardstock using the Tag Builder Blueprints 2 dies from My Favorite things and layered a piece of Candlelight Chrsitmas paper on top.  I added a little Early Espresso over the tag hole as well.

I embossed the sentiment from Tag-Its #8 by Papertrey Ink with white embossing powder.  After stamping the tree from Chalet by Avery Elle, I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out by hand.  Then I put White Blizzard Nuvo Drops on the tree for some sparkle.  I adhered the tree to the tag and tied on some gold ribbon for the final touch.

Stamps:  Chalet (Avery Elle); Tag-Its #8 (Papertrey Ink)
Ink:  VersaMark
Paper:  Early Espresso, Candlelight Christmas (Stampin' Up)
Copic:  C3, YG23, YG25, E44, E59
Misc:  Tag Builder Blueprints 2 dies (My Favorite Things); White Blizzard (Nuvo Crystal Drops); gold Wink of Stella pen; white embossing powder (Filigree); gold ribbon

Joy Wreath Tag

It's been a lovely Christmas weekend.  My college kids are home and we got to Skype with our missionary on Christmas day.  I'm popping in to post one of the tags I made for family gifts.  This one uses the Wondrous Wreath set by Stampin' Up.

I cut Kraft cardstock with the Tag Sale #4 die by Papertrey Ink and stamped the word "joy" in the center.  It's from the Merriest stamp set by Avery Elle.  I love the font in that set!  I stamped the wreath in Garden Green ink on white cardstock and then stamped the second leaf layer in the same ink.  I stamped the berries in Real Red ink.

The dies for this wreath gave me fits!  It's easy to line up the main wreath die, but the center piece was a pain.  You can't see through it.  I only managed to cut one of the centers perfectly aligned.  I even tried cutting first and then stamping, but that didn't work well because the die edge impresses into the cardstock so the stamping wasn't even.  There are several discarded wreaths in my trash can.  Except for the die struggles, however, these tags were quick to make.

I stamped the bow in Real Red ink and cut it out with the matching die.  I added Ruby Slippers Nuvo Crystal Drops over the berries for dimension and a touch of glitter.  I love how it looks!  I popped the wreath up with foam tape, and once I tied on some red satin ribbon, the tags were done.  I'll post the other two tag sets this week, so stay tuned.  :)

Stamps:  Wondrous Wreath (Stampin' Up); Merriest (Avery Elle)
Ink:  Garden Green, Real Red (Stampin' Up); Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper:  White, Kraft (Papertrey Ink)
Misc:  Wonderful Wreath dies (Stampin' Up); Tag Sale #4 die (Papertrey Ink); Ruby Slippers (Nuvo Crystal Drops); red ribbon

Time's a Dragon Without You

I'm squeaking in at the last minute with a mini card for the latest Lawnscaping Challenge to Sparkle It Up.  I don't know how I missed it before, because I love any excuse to add sparkle to my creations!  I colored this adorable dragon from Critters Ever After by Lawn Fawn over a month ago and it's been sitting on my desk ever since.

For the challenge, I added silver Wink of Stella to the dragon's horns and clear Wink of Stella to the wings.  I cut a piece of Dark Chocolate cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies by Lawn Fawn and covered it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Stickles.  It simulates the texture of dirt with some extra sparkle, grounding the dragon perfectly.  Love it!

As you can see, I was rapidly running out of daylight while taking these pictures.  (Stickles can take a while to dry.)  I snapped a couple of photos inside trying to capture the sparkle.  Hopefully you can see it in the close-up shot.

My son and daughter got a kick out of the sentiment!  It's from Dexter the Dragon by Kraftin' Kimmie.  I may slip this little card into my husband's suitcase the next time he takes a business trip.  I'm glad I finally got this cute dragon off my desk and onto a card.   He makes me smile!

Mini Hogs & Kisses

The main pieces for this mini card have been on my desk for a while.  In fact, I think I colored the pig a few months ago!  It was in my scrap drawer and is from Lunar Animals by Mama Elephant.  I pulled it out after I got the Rolling Hills die by My Favorite Things.  I envisioned a little farm scene, naturally.  It finally all came together when I pulled out two Pure Innocence sets yesterday, Piggy Bank and Farmer Girl.

I cut the card base and envelope using the Envie die by Avery Elle.  The base is in three pieces - white, Soft Sky, and Garden Green.  Actually, the die cut fence is a Dark Chocolate piece layered behind the grass, so it's really four pieces total.  I brushed a white pigment inkpad over the Soft Sky to mimic feathery clouds.

I used a Garden Green marker to add grass details.  Once all the base pieces were assembled, I stamped my sentiment from Piggy Bank in black ink.  I also stamped another sentiment from that set, "Hope your day is filled with squeals of delight", on the back.  I plan to write a short personal message underneath.

I stamped the hay bale image from Farmer Girl using Hello Honey ink on the matching cardstock and cut it out.  I added some shading using the matching marker as well.  Then I colored and cut out a little chick from the same set to place on top of the hay bale.  My cute little pig needed a companion!

How could I resist another polka-dot envelope to go with it?  Now I have one more mini card in my stash.  Of course, school ends for the summer in just three weeks so I need to use it soon.  Here's hoping my daughter squeals when she sees it!   :)

Stamps:  Lunar Animals (Mama Elephant); Piggy Bank, Farmer Girl (My Favorite Things)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Hello Honey (Stampin' Up); Sweet Tooth (My Favorite Things)
Paper:  White, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink); Soft Sky, Garden Green, Hello Honey, Regals Collection Pattern Stack dsp (Stampin' Up)
Copic:  Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y38
Misc:  Envie dies (Avery Elle); Rolling Hills dies (My Favorite Things); Hello Honey marker, Garden Green marker (Stampin' Up)

Pixie Hugs & Kisses

Here's my third mini card using the Envie die by Avery Elle.  It's my favorite one so far!  This adorable fairy comes from a stamp set by Avery Elle called Pixie Dust.  I'm a fantasy geek, so I had to have it.  I also bought their Be a Unicorn set.  Be on the lookout for another mini card soon using that one.  It's still in process.

Isn't she darling!  I stamped the fairy on white cardstock, colored her with Copic markers, and hand-cut her out.  I used a gold Wink of Stella pen on the star wand and sparkly glitter on her wings.  For the mini card, I staggered several cloud layers cut using the Puffy Cloud Borders dies by Lawn Fawn.  I stamped two bird silhouettes from Cloudy Skies by Simon Says Stamp.  Then I added my sentiment in black ink.  It fit perfectly in the upper right corner!  (whew)

I chose this lovely pink polka dot paper from the old retired Love dsp by Stampin' Up for my envelope.  Again, the paper is double-sided so there's a nice little surprise when you open it.

It makes my heart giddy.  I had so much fun making this little mini card!  I know my daughter is going to love it.

Pizza My Heart

My daughter talked me into this Lawn Fawn set.  Well actually, it didn't require much arm-twisting.  It was already on my wish list.  She only encouraged me to buy it sooner!  lol  I love the sentiments and the build-your-own pizza design.  Naturally, I had to use it for a little card to tuck into her bag.

I stamped the heart-shaped pizza and added all the tiny toppings in different colors.  Love!  So quick and easy.  I used So Saffron and Close to Cocoa markers to color the crust and pizza cutter.  I hand-cut the pizza cutter and glued it in place.  You'd never know it was placed there to cover a smudge!  :)  Here's a close-up of the pizza cutter so you can see the pretty silver shimmer.  Wink of Stella pens are the best!

Did I mention how much I adore this new die by Avery Elle?  I will be using this one a lot.  I really love the striped paper I used for the envelope.  It's from the Brights Collection dsp by Stampin' Up.  I think it channels those old-fashioned striped awnings, perfect for a pizza parlor vibe!

Stamps:  Pizza My Heart (Lawn Fawn)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Gumball Green, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight (Stampin' Up)
Paper:  White (Papertrey Ink); Brights Collection dsp (Stampin' Up)

Somebunny Loves You

I got a new die set by Avery Elle specifically to make little cards to tuck in my daughter's lunch box or backpack.  She's been having a rough year at school.  I love the darling scalloped envelope!  It's also a smaller card canvas, so it's been fun to use my stamps to make these.  :)

I was lucky enough to win the entire latest Verve Stamps release.  Seriously!  This stamp set called Hip Hop Bunnies was included.  Isn't it darling?  It's perfect for a little pick-me-up.  The sentiment is my favorite image in the whole set.

I stamped the bunny on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, along with three carrots.  The tiny bow was stamped on the paper I used for the envelope.  And yes, I hand-cut everything!

The grass was cut with a die by My Favorite Things from Garden Green cardstock.  Once everything was glued in place, I stamped the sentiment in the upper corner.

I am so in love with this Envie die by Avery Elle!  It has a pierced detail that adds so much to the overall look.  I pulled out an old Stampin' Up patterned paper called Spring Fling.  The double-sided print adds a nice surprise when it's opened.

I have two more mini cards to share using this die, so stay tuned.  I have several in-process cards on my desk too.  Just having a bit of a mojo block!  I tucked this into my daughter's bag when she left for a school coast trip two days ago.  I can't wait to hear all about it when she gets home tonight.  I have missed her so much!

Stamps:  Hip Hop Bunnies (Verve)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
