Stepping into the New Year...

I've been feeling a little bit melancholy this New Year's...

...it probably has something to do with the fact that I'm now old

enough to get into the movies at the senior rate...

(when did that happen???)

A lot of you have written about your resolutions for the new year...

and most all of you who have, have written with such eloquence about your realization 

and acceptance of the tides of life...the steps forward and the steps backward...

the realization that resolutions are a step by step process...

sometimes we move forward...and sometimes, not so much...

New Year's is a time to look forward...

to think of new steps...even different paths...

to fulfill your resolutions.

And yes...even if you say you don't make resolutions...I'll bet there's 

that niggling feeling inside that's tugging at your heart to 

take that step...that different path...

My resolutions?

Probably not all that different from yours...

There's that pesky resolution to lose weight and get more exercise...

Then there's the one about focusing more on my photography projects...

...but what do I really want???

I want to pay more attention to the blessings in my life, rather than my personal failings...

and most important...I want to fully embrace my family and friends...

with all the love and gratitude I feel...and don't express enough...

I truly feel blessed to have "met" so many "virtual" friends

in this blogging experience...
