Pay Attention to the Details....

Last year in Greene there was a huge field of lupines that I photographed a few times. If you check my post from Nov. 21st 2007 entitled "Another Dreary Day" you'll see a photo of just how many lupines there were. The point of this post is, even though the area was covered in lupines, you need to pay attention to smaller details like this fallen lupine blossom on the dew covered leaf. I think it makes an interesting photograph

Jonesport, ME

When I photographed the puffins a while back I went to the area a day early and I drove around looking for interesting things to photograph. This old apple tree by the lupines was one of the pictures I took, shortly after I took the photo the fog lifted and the sun came out ruining the nice soft light. Right to the left of this photo, just out of camera range, there was an old abandoned house. Where this rock and tree were may have been a mowed lawn at one time, I think it looks better in this condition then it would mowed.

Another Dab of Color.....

I've decided to take a break from posting winter photos for the rest of the week; I'm more than ready for spring. Last summer I took lots of photos of lupines, there was an area in Greene that had the most lupines in one spot that I had ever seen. This is a good example of seeing a photo within a photo. I was doing wide angle shots when I saw this beetle crawling up and down the blossom so I threw on my macro lens and took some close ups.
