Celebrate Today Cupcake

Hello all! Happy Friday! Today I bring you a little birthday card... This cute little cupcake is from Cupcake Collection. I stamped it in raspberry fizz, ocean tides and vintage cream (for the frosting). Topped it with an aqua handmade flower, which was created from the smallest Blossom Nestabilites, and a button.
Attached the cupcake to the center of an embossed frame. To create the frame I punched a circle from white cardstock, rounded the corners, embossed it with swiss dots, stamped the sentiment (I should have done this before embossing), wrapped with embroidery floss and attach to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. My weekend has pretty much started today since my hubby has been home. Tomorrow I get to go shopping with a friend of mine, with out any kids! :)

Thanks for taking the time to visit today!

WCMD Papertrey Ink Challenge #3

Hello again everyone, please scroll down and make sure you see my first post for the day.

Last night I created two cards for the WCMD Challenges over at Nichole Heady's blog. The second card I created was for the third challenge, to be inspired by India. Here is my take...
Part of the challenge was to incorporate rhinestones, sequins & jewels in a fun and unique way. I chose to use this button that I had picked up on my last craft store excursion.
It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but in real life this button is very sparkly. Looks like it is encrusted with jewels. I loved the flowers that Dawn had made and just knew I had to give it a try with tulle, I love the way it turned out! The leaves were cut by hand and then creased down the center.

Thanks again for stopping by today!

Make A Wish

Happy Monday to you all! Hope you had a great weekend!

I had a very busy weekend so no crafting time for me. So today's card was one I had created sometime last week.Using one of the single candle images from PTI Cupcake Collection, I stamped and punched a few candles out. Popped them onto the card with dimensional adhesive, wrapped some floss, stamped the sentiment (in craft white ink), rounded the corner and embellished the candle flames with my stardust stickles.
So we had a busier than usual weekend. We hit the beach on Saturday, it was overcast but we still had fun. Then visited with family, my cousin and his little family were visiting from Eastern Canada. Sunday was the PPS birthday party (Princess, Pony & Superhero) and my son had a blast, he did not want to get off of the pony.

Anyways, enough about me. I hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Goodness

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a very productive one, finished painting the ceiling in one day! Very glad its done!

So this weeks CAS Challenge is to use stitching, real or faux. I kinda laughed when I first saw this, it's the perfect challenge because I had been working on this technique for the last week. So here is a card I made before the challenge was posted, but fits it perfectly...

I prefer to do my stitching by hand with embroidery floss, I really like the thicker stitches and prefer the look. I'm also too lazy to keep lugging the heavy sewing machine in and out of the closet. :) Here I did a Zig-zag stitch along the seem of the two polka dots. I'm not sure if Zig-zag is the correct term exactly, but that's what it looks like to me... lol. The button is threaded with the same brown floss to match the stitching. Here is a tip I find very handy: Make sure to pierce all the holes, with a paper piercer, before using the needle and thread/floss. Its much easier on the fingers.

I'm really liking this color combo, Chocolate with berry and orange. This combo was made for cupcakes! Polka dots were made for cupcakes too, hope your not tired of them yet.

I pulled out my neglected Stickles for this card and went to town. Here is a close up of the glittery goodness!...

I really like the way this card turned out. It's cute, simple and has lots of fun details! Hope you like it too!

Hope you have a great Monday!
