I'd forgotten all about my Ugg boots.
I recently found this photo (below) and showed it to Lady M.
"I wonder whatever happened to my Uggs?" I asked.
"They're in your Shoe Cupboard" she replied; with a 'What a Plonker' look on her face.
Five minutes later she came downstairs holding my Uggs. "There you are" she said in frustration " they were where you left them after last Winter!".
Right. Roll on cold weather, I'm now prepared for whatever Mother Nature may throw at me.
I have warm jumpers, my silly Russian style 'Ushanka' hat, and now I have my cosy Uggs. It's already feeling cooler, and I'm almost looking forward to it getting cold.
How could I have possibly forgotten my Uggs?
Well, fancy that...finding boots in the shoe cupboard! Whatever next??

ReplyDeleteThe other day I went winter shoe hunting and saw a very nice selection of Uggs on display. I was very tempted until I realised that it's still in the high 20C's during the day, I don't go out at night and most people are still in shorts and T-shirts. I also realised that if it's going to be that cold, I shan't be going outdoors.There is still a pair of Rhode boots that remain largely unworn since I brought them from the UK - 25 years ago!
It's quite cool here this morning, I might even bring my Uggs out of their cupboard.
DeleteI have a pair of fleece lined boots. Ugg type. I forget to wear although it certainly gets cold enough. I live in trainers and thick socks over the winter.

DeleteThe reason you forgot their location or even the existence of your Uggs is probably early onset dementia. What day is it? When is your birthday? What is your name?

DeleteI only wear mine inside, except for a trip to the shed. Living in the back of beyond with no pavements, it is invariably too muddy outside.

I think mine are OK for outside, but I wouldn't wear them in the rain. They certainly are good insulation; almost too good.

ReplyDeleteYour Uggs really suit you. Years ago I bought a cheap pair of replica Uggs. I put them on to go and give my neighbour our key as we were going to Edinburgh the next day . I don't know if it was because they were cheap and had big soles but, I tripped up the porch step and smashed my face on the drive ..... I hurt my wrist and had a big black eye and cut lip for my trip to Scotland ! I never wore them again. Moral of the story .... don't buy cheap ! XXXX
Oh dear. Yes, that wouldn't endear them to you. Mine actually came from Oz, my daughter brought them over as a present.
DeleteI have Uggs too. They do keep your feet warm in winter... and I only use mine outside.
