ChRiStMaS In ApRiL

Welcome to the April installment of the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop.  Today I am posting a card I made for my mom to hand out at Christmas time.
This card uses some of the more "traditional" Christmas colors of red and green with some cream.  I really do love how it turned out.
I colored my image, Merry Christmas Tilda, with Tim Holtz distress inks and added some red and green Stickles to the words MERRY CHRISTMAS.

My paper is from Close To My Heart
The edge punch I used is from Martha Stewart's Punch-Around-the-page punches
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
The candy cane and wreath are from Roberts Crafts
The ribbon is from JoAnn's Crafts

If you happened upon my blog, please go back to the beginning so you don't miss a thing, you can do that here.  If you came from Glenda's Blog then you are on the right track.  From here we will go visit Cathy's blog and see what a fun, wintery creation she has come up with this month.  If you get lost along the way, click on the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop link at the top of my post and it will take you to the Blog Hop website so you can find your way again.

Coloring Medium from Tim Holtz Distress Inks

Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop Today!

Hello and welcome to the 10th installment of the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop!

The hop starts here! Today I created a cute Christmas card using Jolly Tilda and Peppermint from the Christmas 2010 Collection, both can be purchased from the Magnolia Store found here.

The paper I chose is from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon is from my stash, and was transformed into this fun bow using the Bow Easy.  The candy cane charm and the beaded wrap on the inside are from Roberts Crafts.
I colored my Tilda and Candy Cane using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
The paper behind Tilda was embossed using a cuttlebug die, but it's hard to see in the pic.

Now lets hop on over to Kathy's blog to see what wonderfully wintery creation she has designed for us.

So Snoowie!

Wow!  It's the 25th of September already.  Today I made a Christmas card, for the Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop, using Snoowie with Star instead of a Tilda or Edwin.  I just love this little guy. I colored him with copics on the new Xpress It copic paper, love that stuff, so smooth!
It's a pretty simple card as I was super busy today and could only work a little bit at a time.  I think it's pretty cute tho.
I used paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some bling from my stash as well as some organdy ribbon, also from my stash.

Here is my card: Please excuse the poor photography.  My good camera has a dead battery LOL

If you came from Glenda's blog you're on the right track, but...if you started here, you will want to go back to the beginning with Deb's blog and see all the wonderful creations in order!

Now lets head on over to Kathy's blog to see what's she's been creating lately!

The Color Purple

Nope, never seen it!  But....I did create a new Tilda card with a ton of purple.  I really don't know what prompted me to make this card with so much purple but I actually like how it turned out. I tried my hand at Suzanne Dean's "Scandinavian" look.  Well???

This little darling is Sweet Tilda purchased from 7 kids college fund.
I colored her with my copics, using only a few markers.  The purple I used was BV00 and BV02, the hair was Y21, E31, & E33, her shoes are E31, E33, and a little E37.  The only other colors I used were C-1 and W-1.  Simple!

The CS is from Close To My Heart, it's a textured, double-sided cardstock, lighter on the inside and white in the core.  Awesome stuff!  The patterned paper is from my stash of long ago.  The paper flowers are also CTMH and the other flowers are from Hobby Lobby.  The lace ribbon was also from my stash.

Happy Mother's Day Card

Today I created a Mother's Day card for my mum who will be spending Mother's Day (US) in Scotland with her mum.  It will be strange celebrating without her as we have never been apart for Mother's Day but I'll manage.

I used the super cute Tilda from the new Spring Kit that shipped earlier this month.  I have no idea what her name is but I love her.  I colored her with my copics and although you can't see it in the picture, I used the Copic Spica glitter pens for her petticoat and ruffles.  The DP is from a DCWV stack, the CS, charm, safety pin and sentiment are all from Close To My Heart (CS color taffy), the ribbon was from my stash, and the flowers were from Hobby Lobby.  I took them apart and inserted a brad in the middle instead and then just glue dotted (is that a word??) them down to the leaves then to my card front.

I tried to keep it simple as I will be mailing to the UK but I really do like how it turned out.  I hope you do too!

Happy 25th of April...

What's so special about the 25th of April you ask?  Is it my birthday? No, is it my Anniversary?  No...It's the Christmas All Year Round Magnolia Blog Hop!

My card today is featuring "Sitting With Candy Tilda" which can be purchased at the Magnolia Store here.

The paper I used is from my stash, I remember getting it for $1 at Wal-Mart but that's about it.  The Cardstock is from CTMH as well as the crocheted flowers and the sentiment.  The paper flowers are from Prima (don't they look like little poinsettias?) The brads are just from my stash of brads and the metal flower accent was found in my "embellishment" box but I really love how it looks on this card. The twigs were punched from my Martha Stewart punch.

K, here's where it go tricky!  I stamped my Tilda first ok...Then I stamped her again onto a separate piece of paper and cut her out for my "mask", I then inked up my steps and positioned them where I *hoped* they would look like she was sitting right on them and not halfway down a step LOL.  Viola, I did it!!  It worked the first time (but will probably never work again).  I was so pleased that I didn't have to do it again!

I then colored her with my copics (sorry I didn't write down the numbers, gonna have to remember that from now on).  I couldn't get into her little candy canes without getting them all red so when I was done I took my white pen and went over the red and now it looks like a real candy cane minus the peppermint smell!

Now, lets hop on over to Kathy Curry's blog and see what wonderful Christmas card she has created.

Simply Scrumptious...

Here is the recipe page I created for the upcoming Magnolia Recipe Swap on the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group, you can join the Yahoo Group by clicking here.

I used "Kitchen Tilda" from the So Yummy In My Tummy collection which can be purchased at the Magnolia store here.
Other products used were ribbon from Close To My Heart, flowers from the floral department at my LSS, I just cut them off the stem, removed the inside stem and replaced it with a brad.  I added the leaves behind the flower for a more realistic effect.  I like it!  I also used my Copics to color my darling Tilda.  The patterned paper is also from CTMH.  It's a pretty simple layout but it's the recipe I'm focusing on!  How good does that sound?  Cool Whip Fruit Salad?  In the words of my favorite TV cook...YUM-O!  These babies have to go out tomorrow but I wanted to share with you now.  Enjoy!

Have a Simply Magnolia day,

Monochromatic Magnolia...

Who could have known that an all gray stamped image would look so darned cute?!? I love the *monochramatic* look with a pop of color, not just any color but a strong color like the Cranberry from Close To My Heart I used here on my card.  The rest of the paper is from DCWV (argyle) and CTMH (cardstock).  The flowers are from Prima, the brads, safety pin, charm and bling are all from CTMH, the ribbon is from JoAnn's.  I used my spellbinders dies for the image, the corners and the sentiment.  I distressed my edges using one of those edge distressers that came in my distressing kit from CTMH.  So cool!
Here's a closer view of Tilda
ACK!  I almost forgot one VERY important detail...Where I got my Tilda! How on earth could I forget the focal point of my card LOL
This is "Tilda With Hearts" from the Magnolia Love Collection.
