Good Friends
It's Friday and time for Bloggers Challenge. This week the challenge is friendship. I created this CAS card using the layout from the Addicted to CAS sketch challenge.
I started with a red card base. I pulled out a favorite stamp set from Rogue Redhead Designs, Milliner Misses. I love these ladies and the sentiment works so well with the challenge.

Ornament Tag
As the weather forecast threatens a cold, arctic blast in Chicago, thoughts go to the Christmas season. Today I am sharing a CAS Christmas tag. The tag was die cut from green cardstock. The ornaments (Our Daily Bread Designs) were stamped on white card stock and heat embossed. Then they were die cut using Spellbinders dies (available at Classy Cards n such). "Peace on Earth" was stamped on the tag and embossed in silver.
I am entering this tag in these challenges:Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge -- ornaments;
Classy Cards n Such -- ornaments; Word Art Wednesday -- anything goes; Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy -- red, gold, green; Our Daily Bread Designs -- holiday; Addicted to CAS -- tag; Inspiration Journal -- happy holidays; Artistic Stamper -- Christmas is coming.

O is for ... Oriental
I'm back after a 3 day absence spent in the hospital. It felt good to spend a little time in the studio. Using the sketch layout from the Marks Finest Papers Oriental challenge, I created this card. The background panel is cut from a Chinese newspaper. The red panel was made by using a stencil and stencil paste and then spraying with distress spray. The bottom panel was stamped using an Oriental stamp from MFP..
I am also entering my card into these challenges: Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge -- O is for...; Three Muses -- printed word; Addicted to CAS -- stencil.

Speedy Recovery
Today has been a fun and busy day. My card here is for the Addicted to CAS challenge which is cuddly. The minute I saw the challenge, I knew that I had to use this adorable and cuddly teddy bear stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps. Isn't he sweet!

My daughter needs a wedding card for a friend's wedding. The challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs which is silver and gold and this beautiful dove border die provided the perfect ingredients for a wedding card. Just add the Shakespeare sentiment and a card is created ready for a wedding celebration.

Summer Tag
The current challenge at Frilly & Funkie challenges us to CASE one of Linda's tags from her 2013 Christmas tag challenge, but give it a summer flair. I chose the tag from Week # 6 (October 28, 2013). As you can see, I gave my tag a 4th of July theme. I started with a tag cut from kraft cardstock. I used designer paper from Graphic 45 for my background. OK, I admit that I don't sew anymore so I added faux stitching. For the top panel I stamped some fireworks (Northwoods stamps) and adhered the die cut number 4 and star. The die cut flag was adhered to the bottom of the tag. I made the bow from organza ribbon and topped it with sunshine (a small rosette stamped with the sun face (Rogue Redhead Designs). All die cuts are from Tim Holtz.
My tag is being entered into these challenges: Frilly & Funkie -- Just Case It; SweetStamps -- summer; Marks Finest Papers Colors Challenge -- red, tan/sand, blue; Addicted to CAS -- sun; Kraft Journal -- red, white, and blue; Work It Wednesday --patterned paper; Craft-Dee Bowz -- anything goes, but must have a bow.

Down By the Sea
I was in my element as I was making this card. Add lots of texture and some vintage images and I'm happy. This week there were several beach/water challenge themes and a couple challenges calling for texture. I started with a piece of kraft cardstock and embossed it using one of Tim Holtz's texture fades. I then added distress embossing powder to the bottom of the panel to represent sand. I used Tim's Chevron die to die cut the waves. I added distress glitter to the waves like white caps. Texture fades, distress embossing powder, and distress glitter are all texture techniques that Tim Holtz uses to add texture to his art. The beach house and bathing beauties are stamps from Artistic Outpost as is the sentiment.
I will be adding my card to these challenges: Kraft Journal -- water, water everywhere; Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy --beach theme; A Vintage Journey -- texture; Addicted to CAS -- texture; V's Sweet Ideas --Summer fun; Art With Heart -- summer celebration.

Luck
Happy St. Patrick's Day and the luck of the Irish to you.
My card's background panel was a very simple combination of a Dylusions stencil and Pan Pastels. Notice how the colors go -- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet -- the colors of the rainbow. The center sentiment (Tim Holtz) panel is covered with lucky shamrocks (Kitchen Sink Stamps). A rainbow and a little good luck will always bring a smile to my face.My card is being entered into these challenges: Ink on My Fingers Sunday challenge -- happy; City Crafters -- rainbow; SweetStamps -- lucky; and Addicted to CAS --luck.

Friends
This week the Bloggers Challenge is friendship. This theme gave me a chance to use one of my Tim Holtz dies for the first time...the friends cut-out die. What better set of friends is there to use than Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer (Artistic Outpost stamps). I decided to keep my card CAS. To a background panel of designer paper with the word "Friends" cut out, I added Tom and Huck over a die cut from Spellbinders. The boys are colored using distress markers.
I am also entering my card into the Addicted to CAS challenge which is die cuts, into the Great Impressions challenge which is something new; and into the Artistic Outpost referral challenge which is anything goes using Artistic Outpost stamps.

Time is the Best Doctor
I guess I should have scanned my card with a background behind it. The ivory card base kind of blends into the white background. Oops!
Oh well, my card is a CAS get well card. The background is a scribble of gelatos overstamped with some apothecary bottles (Club Scrap). My sentiment is also from Club Scrap.
I am entering my card into the Addicted to CAS challenge which is get well and into the Tuesday Throwdown challenge which is CAS.

Life Measured
The first card I am sharing today is a CAS card. I stamped my daisies (Mark's Finest Papers) on the white card base. They were colored with distress markers. I then added Viva Decor glitter liner to the flower heads. Over that I sprinkles a little distress glitter. The sentiment is from Verses stamps.
My card was created for the challenges at Addicted to CAS -- glitter and Marks Finest Papers Friends of Speedy Challenge -- no design paper.
