LOL at Alex's comment. :D That little girl was too cute! And could have been me at that age as well. One of my favorite things was going to the library and picking out a stack of books to bring home.
Yup. That was me when I was a little girl. I couldn't wait to read big books. I marveled at them. Now, I pick out a ton of books that I know I won't be able to finish it time. :P
I'm reminded that my then future husband and I had spent many dates at the local library. How could I not love a man who loved books as much as I did. :)
I do completely love them. Even as I write this, I have the car packed to trade some in. Tomorrow I'll return a few to the library. Books are my joy. Susan Says
I remember when I was a kid, I got so annoyed when a book I'd lent out would be returned with folded edges on the cover or an obvious spill on its pages. That's how much I loved and still love books!
I don't actually lend books out anymore. If I keep a book, I really like/love it and don't want it to get ruined. I do donate and give away other books, though. :)
I'm with you, Madeline. I love books so much I buy them when I already have plenty of unread books in my house, then go to the library and check out a couple more, and sometimes even read one on my tablet or Kindle (although I prefer the feel of a real print hardcover).
Probably not enough to kiss them. And if I started kissing my iPad, my wife would have me committed.
ReplyDeleteI never even thought about kissing ebooks (iPads or Kindles, etc.) Too funny! :)

I still go the library and bring home a stack of books. Although now I put a handful "on hold" along with browsing the New Fiction shelf. :)
DeleteAlex's comment made me laugh. I do feel like kissing a few good books, mind it, not all, but just the ones I loved reading ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, so you're more discerning about the books you'll kiss.... :)

ReplyDeleteI've got a pile of library books that I probably won't finish before their due dates, but I'll probably be able to renew at least most of them.

ReplyDeleteLove that! :)

I think we all need t-shirts that say the last sentence of your comment - "Books are my joy." :)
DeleteI love books so much I smell them and hug them. I've never tried kissing them :-)
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, the perfume of books.... :)
DeleteI've never actually kissed a book but I totally get wanting to! I have thrown them across the room when they upset me, though...
ReplyDeleteWell, since you've wounded them, maybe you should kiss their boo-boos. :)
DeleteNot enough to kiss them, but I would totally hug my books.
ReplyDeleteHugging works!
DeleteThat's adorable haha .. I love books so much that it upsets me when they get destroyed.. or when my kiddo leaves them laying on the floor :(
ReplyDeleteI hate the idea of books being destroyed....

ReplyDeleteYes! I have shelves of unread books that I own, a stack of books borrowed from the library, and a bunch on my iPad/Kindle app. :)
DeleteYeah, I've kissed my share of books too. :-)

I think I'll start worrying if the books start kissing back.... :)
