Snow
Watching snow fall is incredibly captivating. There is snow falling outside my window at the moment, and I'm finding it hard to do much else but watch (of course, I often find other excuses for not doing work, but honestly, snow is so pretty).
Here are a couple photos of The Gates at Central Park. They are really quite cool, and I especially like the atmosphere of the crowds of people walking around the park just relaxing and looking at the Gates. It was super crowded, but didn't feel that way...felt more like a community than a crowd. It's hard to describe. Anyway, while I was there, I saw them put up a couple of the Gates (well, they had taken them down to fix the fabric, and were re-installing them). It was pretty exciting (yes, I need to get out more), and everyone applauded when the Gates went up :) I hear that if you ask any of the Gates staff nicely for a bit of fabric, they'll give a swatch to you if they have one, but I didn't try. I don't know what I'd do with the fabric I guess.
And I'm still knitting as you can see from part of a scarf I'm working on (I didn't choose the colours, it's for someone else :) So yeah. Life is kind of moving on as usual, but I'm always thinking about my friend's kid (who also happens to be a mini-me...we've got so much in common it's kinda freaky :) Sending plenty of good thoughts across the oceans.
