K is for Kringla

It was really tough thinking of a "K" breakfast food, so I've chosen one of our sweet favorites...kringla. To learn more about kringla, take a look at one of my past posts here. Thanks to Danni B. for this suggestion!!

Kringla and Jelly

Our neighbors to the northeast continually share kringla with us. The treat this time...they paired the kringla with their home-made jelly. First raspberry, then strawberry. (Thanks Dick and Helen!)

What's kringla? Check out one of my past posts here.

Peach Pie and other Niceties

A few days ago someone gave us a homemade peach pie in return for a favor. Ten minutes after they left, our neighbors to the east delivered a homemade funnel cake. Should I mention the homemade peach jelly and kringla our neighbors to the northeast brought over last night? I am so thankful for all the generous chefs in our neighborhood. {Big thanks to the G-Family, K-Family and Marita!} {print available}

Kringla

We were introduced to this treat when we moved to Iowa years ago. It's a Norwegian sweet bread that can be eaten plain, with butter or jelly. We are very fortunate to have a neighbor that won a blue ribbon for her kringla recipe and is willing to share it with us often (ironically, she's not Norwegian). It's a common occurrence in our kid's lives now and a nice addition to ours. {available}
