Marie Antoinettes Hamlet

O.K, so if you saw Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette Movie then you might recognize this first picture.
In the movie Marie and her friends ran through this archway so that she could show them the lovely little Hamlet that she created. This actually isn't the first view you see of the Hamlet (creative license for the movie).
You actually come across this view after you have spent a while wondering through the lovely little forested paths from the Petite Trianon.
In my mind, the hamlet was one really sweet rustic building and some animals and a garden. NO....
In actuality, it's like an entire little village. It's so adorable. My daughter equated it to a theme park and then said that Marie was like the very first Walt Disney. (I don't know how factual that is but, that's what my daughter thinks... hahaha)
There are several houses and a barn and a chicken house and a milking shed and there are still animals kept there. Every house has it's own little backyard fenced in garden too.
Look at the roof!!! They are shake roofs and there are flowering plants growing on most of the roofs. Adorable!!
At this point some of the buildings outer staircases are starting to fall apart but wouldn't it be neat if they fixed them up and then offered an opportunity to stay in the village?!! I would so be there!!
After visiting Versaille it is very easy to see why Marie Antoinette loved the little village that she created. So open and inviting and relaxing.
It was fun to wander around, the only thing is that there aren't any signs directing you back to the Petit Trianon so you need to leave yourself a little time to make sure you wander back before the last shuttle leaves or you'll have quite a walk back to Versailles.
My daughter and I decided that this was by far our favorite part of the entire Versailles visit!!
Hopefully more pictures soon. I hope I'm not boring you.
I hope everyones summer is going wonderfully.

Working On

Here is what I've been working on this week.

A Sweet Marie themed tag for a fellow artist. I love this image!!

Then some press kits for an upcoming event. I think press kits are fabulous. Every time I get an opportunity to make them I jump at the chance. I use the event as a reason to create new items for my shops. The crowns will be in my goods shop soon and the ribbon flower is a decorated Bobbi pin. How fun right?!!

Well, today is the first day that all of my kiddos are back in school. The house is destroyed from 3 weeks of having all four of them home. The tree is still up! ugh. I guess the next few days wont be quite so creative but I'll be glad when every things back in order.

Have a lovely day

Flower Swap

Marie Antoinette Flower Swap Reveal

A while back I was in a flower swap with my Marie Antoinette art group.(link on the right side of my blog). These are the flowers I made. It was really fun learning the new technique of melting fabric and layering the petals. Super Easy too!!
Most of my fellow swappers used the same technique. Amazingly, they all look soooooo different.
I love to see the different ways that people use the same techniques.

I am sorry though that I lost the labels with "who made what" on them. All of these ladies are super talented. You should hope over to the Marie site and check out all of the artists work.

Here they are all together. Yummy!! Have a wonderful Saturday.

Feeling Creative

I've been feeling the urge to create jewelry lately.
These are my latest creations.
I made them with rose quartz faceted beads, shell beads, and czech glass beads. I was inspired by this amazing package I received.
This is what I saw when I opened the box.All of these beautifully packaged handmade silver and pink Marie Antoinette charms. Yummy!!
Once unwrapped this is what I had. Who wouldn't be inspired to create??
So, here it is my stunningly beautiful Marie Antoinette charm bracelet. Thanks to the talented artists who created my charms. Now, I'm not sure anymore who made what but here are some links to all of the talented artists:

Second Petite Inspiration Box Swap Reveal

A Happy Mistake!!
By some happy mistake I was put into two swap groups. My first group had been in contact, we'd talked a lot, we'd even sent and received our swaps when I received an email from Heather, our lovely hostess, telling me that my partners hadn't heard from me?????????

Well, all's well that ends well. I was put into two groups and of course agreed, who wouldn't? So, this is what my first partner Jayme sent me. I love the colors.Look at all of the amazing goodies. I love the little tin and all of the brass jewelry components. Yummy!!! I can't wait to start creating. I'm so inspired.
So, my second partner Sharon Jankowicz sent me this amazing package. It's definitely not a matchbox. LOL. I'm sooooooo glad I decided to stay in the second group.
Here's a side view of this intricately detailed wooden cigar box. Sharon hammered the velvet ribbon along the bottom and finished the box off with my initials.
This is a shot of the inside lid of the box. WOW!!
O.K, so this is what I see when I open the box. Hey, there's the Matchbox. ha ha. Sharon does embroidery, to say the least, check out her book on embroidered cards. So, here it is after all of that lovliness, the actual matchbox. Stunning!!! Take a look at all the beauty inside, see the fleur de lyse pin, that was her grandmothers!! Can you believe it?! Rhinestones, ribbon and even french soap.
But wait..... inside the matchbox was a little matchbox (of course there was!!) Look at all of the lovely vintage buttons and french franc. There is even a sterling silver vintage "forget me not" heart charm. I feel like I must have some pretty good kharma. Lol!!

Thank you ladies for such a superb swap. Tomorrow I'll show you the pink and silver charm swap that I did with my Marie Antoinette group.
