Random quotes of the days.

Peace has to be created, in order to be maintained. It is the product of Faith, Strength, Energy, Will, Sympathy, Justice, Imagination, and the triumph of principle. It will never be achieved by passivity and quietism.

Dorothy Thompson

And you thought that studying was hard.

Was looking though random quote sites when I found this motivational quote. Isn't this something even greater to accomplish as compared to the value of pi, calculas, electromotive forces and all those random scientific and mathematical terms, yes?

To maintain peace and order: That's something that you can't find in textbooks. No, not even the bit in Geography about land disputes will actually make a difference to you.

Nothing in that boring old textbook will be able to actually boost your emotional quotient. What really counts, is your interaction with your other people, whether retarded or not.

Just look at all the complications amongst the people in the world right now. Let,just take a look at the commotion that is on my tagboard. Don't you see how hard it is just to maintain peace and order?

So much for 16th Feburary 1942, kempeitai to maintain peace and order. pfft.

The technologies

Diagram of social networking sites from http://api.ning.com/

In the series of trying ever so desperately to procrastinate from facing the dumb truth: Exams are here ;o, I shall do another one of those amateur-ish blog posts.

We shall go in chronological order of when I first started using it:

Windows Live Messenger / MSN

Longest lasting and by-far the most successful social-networking platform. Had emails such as: nick_rulz_forever@hotmail.com and jeremychia@live.com.sg. Also the more recent jc@chill.la. Great way to communicate with friends. It's "ALMOST" real time! ;o

Friendster

Full of bugs. More of, preceded in popularity by Facebook. Used to experience many, many and countless bugs on that client. Now Friendster is desperately trying to pull its act together to save itself from bankruptcy.

Facebook

The much better and improved version of Friendster, I'd say. Seen it change many ways, sometimes integration into the new template was confusing. But, well, I managed to make my way though.

Kudos to that magnificent Harvard dropout, you did the world a great favour.

Twitter

2nd popular behind Facebook, I think, gains much popularity from the users.

Well, time to go back to reality.
See you.

the picture is self explanatory.

whoever did this really has the balls to do this. moreover, from what i have read, sources say that this was an incident from 2 years ago - done as a icebreaker game for the NJC students. also states the students have seen than been punished and are regretful to the situation.

now, NJC is not completely wrong, so don't go around and start swearing at them, or defaming them on a major scale.

if you still are unaware of the situation, click here.

boygeorge132 is definitely a student of NSK (njc) who supports his sch, especially those culprits in their criminal activities. ACSians, there will always be people who are inferior to us, and are out to tarnish our great name with disgusting ways which places them in the lowest levels of society. We have to stay strong, all 6 of us. May God bless ACS! I'm the 5th generation in my family of ACSians.

asianseller said on 29 Sep, 2009 If both parties continue to fight over this matter then "Childish" is the only word that best describe your action....... NJC and ACS reputation would be tarnished becos of this trivia matter. You got it all wrong. We, ACS(I) hold great reputation, it is njc who have tarnished their's, and are also trying to tarnish our's with slanderous comments and defamatory. We, ACS(I) cannot tolerate such despicable acts of criminals, vandals, murderers, hooligans and gangsters.

My first reply to bladeknight101_e, ACS(I) had a good reputation, until you decided to comment. Judging by the informal and child-like tone, I'd doubt you did any good to the school. Instead, you have displayed how snobbish people from the school are. Truly disappointing.

Secondly, what NJC has said is not largely wrong. At times, everyone can be Annoying Childish Students, or in otherwards, idiots. You can not condemn them on a whole, because this is a creative effort shown by the students also. If you do, are you thinking to say that the educational system our country imposes does not encourage creativity? Sometimes when scolding people we should try to find the positive side to everything. You have to take into consideration the feelings of other students due to this mass defamation. If their school's results plunge, will you be responsible for it?

Thirdly, to you, blacknight, you said that NJC is a NSK, to start with, the usage of the term NSK (Neighbour School Kid) is WRONG!. Second part to this, is that this shows that the people from ACSI are a utter disgrace! Looking down on other people. Is that what a Scholar, Officer and a Gentlemen should do?

Lastly, you been the 5th generation of ACSian students. Haven't you heard stories from back then that ACS students have also insulted and defamed other schools before? Just like how you have defamed NJC by calling it a NSK. You have said it in a way whereby you think that ACS has never done anything to NJC before.

Let's look at something else:

jaycee
can't believe so many people actually would defend ACS?! what about national (singaporean) pride?

~dc~says
honestly i have more pride in ACSI. Plus, NJC does not represent singapore.
jaycee
i'm not relating national pride to NJC, i'm just wondering why people would rather defend an organisation instead of the nation it's in.
~dc~says
coz we defend our school first.. then maybe that issue of national pride will pop up somewhere. not sure...
jaycee
no, i'll defend my nation. reason being, nation before organisation. if there's no nation, that building you call a school won't even exist.
~dc~says
i know nation b4 organization, but the fact is that we're just trying to react to the situation by protecting our skool first
~dc~says
its human nature
jaycee
not really, i'd defend my nation before school. not human nature?

This is another way of showing. What happened to National Education? Or is the school even instilling that in the students. More people actually would rather defend their school than the nation. Out of which, many wouldn't support the nation at all!

What is coming out of the educational system these days.

One last thing: If NJC does ever take over ACS(I) and NACS/NJSS is formed. I probably will be favoured much.

If you didn't catch it, too bad for you.

Counting your blessings

Some of you might think this is just random and irrelevant to my title. Some, will say it's Low-Class.

Many do fail to realise. Just being able to see the clear sky in the night, have a shelter above your head, puts you in a position between than most of the people in the world out there.

What are the seven wonders of the world? Most would say: the Great Wall, etc. But have you really stopped to think:

To Hear.
To See.
To Feel.
To Taste.
To Smell.
To Live.
To Love.

Aren't these, the true seven wonders of the world? Credits to Pastor Loretta for the story at devotion this morning.

Sometimes when I think over it, I hate myself when I am hating life, because out there, hundreds of thousands won't live to see the next week.

When I'm complaining about how much my education environment sucks, so many out there are having a far worse and un-conducive environment.

Let's learn to appreciate the little things in life. Shall we?

A tribute

BTW, not all my wnoderful friends are here. Was too tired last night, so while I was typing halfway, to prevent dosing off, i just saved. SORRY!

Hey people. This post is to recognise all you awesome people out there to me, known as friends. Initially I was planning of cropping your faces out to go and create this post. But well, some of you might not like it, so it'll be plain! HAHA! :D

Vivek

My kindergarten friend and awesome neighbour.

Probably have spent more than half my life knowing him, and interacting with him. Just wanna let you know, you're probably on of the most caring friend someone can ever ask for. Don't be saddened by those who try to convince you from who you are, because you are who you are for a reason.

Well, I'm just glad you can be your 100% around me, i'm not an alien to you, right? LOL!. Really enjoy having you around as a friend, eating breakfast, chatting, going to IKEA when you play with that oven-hand thing. HAHA.

Stay awesome.

Hayden

"HI k mr" is what he'll normally be saying to me. Spend most of the dull moments with me. More recently all the visits to IKEA, cycling, Botak Jones and Dawning Singapore, as some of you know from the Facebook Album.

Real unique personallity, extremely cool guy. :] Thank you for coming down during those NDP09 moments. It was really nice to know that someone was actually watching me for outside and giving me the support I appreciate o... so much.

Solomon

Great friend.
Really really great friend.

Thanks for coming down with Hayden every week to come watch the parade. Knowing you guys were there, really made me want to spur on to give my best. Wouldn't have performed so well without you guys. Thanks are meeting at Lau Pa Sat after the parade, even though it was probably so late after that. HAHA!

Happy F1 with Hayden tonight.

Daisy

Remembering those times in primary school, will speak to me. Thank you for being a part of my life.

Somehow I still remember back then you'd tell me to change, you'd tell me things. Sometimes I just wondered how it made sense, and why I didn't ever think about it. You helped me mature over times. I'd probably be the way I am in the past. All so self-scented, immature and just plain silly.

Trying to write everything here would probably seem impossible. Haha! :]

Jillian

Thinking back, I hardly remember how we met. But you are a really awesome friend. (I have STM!) Remember this...?

Screen Shot removed by request

Still keep it with me, for old times sake. Your command of the language is good, real good. Somehow makes my feel inferior. Well, I always know that whenever I need help for English or Literature, you're the best in it! Haha. Thanks for your card, posted this because I wanted to remind myself to run!. Hope I'll really go running soon! Yeah, really do... Good luck with your Lit Elec/Core! Heard the text for next year is really interesting.

Hairbands! HAHA! :D

Rachael

Remember I first saw you at Hayden's party, hope I'm not wrong. Still can recall when Brendon sang you were staying your best not to laugh. HAHA! So you just smiled, and smiled, and smiled. LOL.

Can remember you wanted to put blur your face so that people wouldn't see yuor photo on the net. Also remembering the NDP09 moments, sometimes you'll be with Solomon, and it'd be loads of fun.

Thanks for being a great friend! :D

Just noticed that I didn't really have much to say about the last few friends that were mentioned.. Cause, well, There's just too much to write.

And real appreciation to all those unsung heros that aren't mentioned here. Cheers!

Burger meets Fries

So here's my lunch meal at Superdog. How interseting and expensive too! Bought myself a beefy onion meal. The waiting time for the meal was largely acceptable, and the food came at just the right temperature. Fresh 100% Chuck Meat.

Rating: 3/5
Comments: Money not worth value.

Oh, btw.

Happy Birthday Meiko!
