I took a picture this morning out in the yard and thought it turned out pretty cute! Elva knitted this hat for him as a newborn, and it fits him perfect now! So here are some of Isaac's milestones at 6 months

-he is still smiley and happy as ever
-he really loves his mom
-he is eating rice cereal, fruits and veggies (and LOVES every bite!)
-still loves the dog and giggles everytime he comes around
-had his first ear infection
-sits up really well and plays with toys
-LOVES the Johnny Jump Up
-19lbs and 28 inches long
-everyone loves and comments on his big BROWN eyes
-not a super napper, but is more of a "cat nap" type
-enjoys hugs and kisses from his siblings

We can't believe you are growing up so fast! Where has our little baby gone! You have been such a joy and a wonderful baby.

Love,
Mom

The ZOO

My cousin came down for a visit and we were able to make a wonderful trip to the zoo. There are a ton of new babies born this past summer, so there are a lot of fun things to see. Our family loves going to the zoo and we get a pass each year! The weather was perfect, almost 70 degrees! Audra and I were able to visit amoungst chasing and keeping track of our own animals.

Mini Cheer

Early in the school year Maya was able to participate in Mini Cheer! Marissa (our beloved babysitter) is a Cheerleader at the high school and invited Maya to attend. They learned a really cute dance and a cheer. Maya did very well at learning all the steps. We all were really proud of her. The entire family came to watch her perform and she did AWESOME!!!! We have found that she does not shy away from crowds and she can really be a performer!!

FYI- the shirt Connor is wear was Ryan's when he was a kid! Totally 80's!!

Summer Family Picture

Usually we try to vacation once a summer. It is a tradition in our family that where ever we go we buy a picture frame from our destination and then we take a family picture together to put inside. Here is us at the Oregon Coast. This is a cape near Tillamook. (YUMMY!!)

Right now things are really busy. Mike has moved out and is getting married Friday, so hopefully I can update the blog when things slow down.

Memorial Day 2009

We decided to take a quick trip up to my parents house over Memorial Day this year. My dad was endlessly working on his 8ft fence to keep out the deer from my moms garden and flowers. Joel and Angie came as well. It was really great to see the cousins play. We tease my dad that he is creating a "compound" by putting up an 8ft fence around almost an acre. After working all day we took the kids for a walk around the boardwalk and then for an ice cream treat at the Resort. YUM! It was a quick trip, but we had fun!

SUPERHERO'S

THE LOWDER FAMILY

THE FORRESTER FAMILY

THE ENTIRE GANG

Before we left CDA I talked to our friend Becky and she said we could come over and ride her ponies!! The kids were so excited! The pony's name was Geranimo. He was very pleasant and the kids had a wonderful time. Even Isaac got a little ride. :)
Here is a funny story while we were over at the barn. I was taking Connor on the horse around the barn, and along our way we saw a wild turkey. We came back around and told Evan to come with us to see if we could see it again. Evan was a little nervous, but plodded along side us. I saw that the turkey had pooped on our first lap, so I wanted to make sure we didn't step in it the second time around. We were coming around the corner and I shouted, "Evan, watch out!!! Wild turkey poop!" He screamed bloody murder and grabbed my hand. He thought the wild turkey was out to get him. We laughed when I showed him the big pile of poop, and now we joke about it all the time. (Many of you who know Evan, understand his obsession with poop, so it makes this story even more humorous.)

Lagoon and breastfeeding

So I thought I would share with you a short story that I found quite humorous...now that it is over.

This year we bought family passes to Lagoon because we knew we would be going a couple of times this summer while family and friends were in town. We decided to be spontaneous last Friday night and just spend the evening there. I picked up Ryan from work and we headed up to the park about 5:30. I had a small bottle pack for Isaac and he had just eaten, so I thought he might be able to survive without nursing at the park for our evening outing.

We were having a great time! Isaac got hungry however, while we were on the train, so I thought I should feed him. Maya and I found the rest of the gang and I sat down on the bench to feed. The bad thing was that I forgot my "hooter hider" and only had a small blanket. We sad down and I fed for a little bit, but I wanted someplace more private. (Isaac was frustrated, and the small blanket was not "hiding" everything. I was using my jacket so my side wasn't showing . ANYWAYS.....we found a nice quiet spot in Pioneer village near a little pond with a fountain next to a silver coin collection building. Perfect! So Ryan and the rest of the crew found us there. The boys were walking along the cement edging around the pond and Ryan warned them to get off so they didn't fall in. THey all went into the coin shop while Isaac finished his meal. Well, the boys got bored and so they went back to the pond. Then all I hear is, SPLASH!!! Evan had "fallen" into the brown murky pond, and I am sitting there with a child attached to my boob helplessly shouting for Ryan who is enjoying the coins in the coinshop. Luckily a twenty-something guy ran over an scooped Evan out. Phew!! Ryan comes running out and the look on Evan's face was so sad. He knew he was busted! He started to cry. I told Ryan not to lose his temper, and then the truth came out and we found out that Connor had pushed him off the edge. BUSTED!!!!! (Brotherly love...I am sure Evan will get him back someday for that) Luckily I had stuffed a couple of articles of clothing in the bottom of the stroller and all was well.

So we are headed off to Lagoon today again. I wonder what adventure awaits us today! Needless to say I am definitely packing the "hooter hider"!

Evan tossing his cap!

We have a recent graduate at home. Mr. Evan has officially graduated from Preschool. Way to go EV!!! Evan has really enjoyed his preschool class this year. His favorite parts were going on the field trips to the zoo and a childrens museum. Also, he loved it when he would get the "Mystery Bag" and he would write clues as to what item he brought for the children to guess in the bag. Evan has a wonderful personality and has made many friends in his class. He can be silly at times, but is a good student. Congrats buddy!!
