Okay so I am getting extremely behind on
this blog. It is just so hard sometimes to sit and write when my free
time is so precious, but I have got to keep this up. This is an April
update, and I it is not even really current anymore but at least I am
getting there.
Julie
Julie has been riding a strider bike since she turned 1, and
she has been balancing on it for a while. I didn’t know how she would do with
balancing and pedaling. My cousin had two small bikes that she was giving away
down in the Salt Lake area, and it just happened to be
around the time we went to Riverton for an eye appointment for Melanie. So, we
stopped and picked one of them up. The back tire wouldn’t hold air for very
long, but when we got home we filled the tire up and had Julie ride it. She did
awesome and away she went. Her main thing she needed to figure out was the
braking, which took about a week and half and then she had that down. She is
getting stronger and can bike up the street a lot easier now without me having
to give her a boost.
She is doing great at the potty, she has to be on a capful
of Miralax every day to keep her stools soft enough, but for the most part she
is doing good. Working now on getting her to pull her pants and underwear down
by herself. This is just an amazing accomplishment for her though. When she
washes her hands it is a game to see who will rinse their hands first. If I am
moving my hands toward the water she hurries and beats me to it saying, “I
win”, although she is fine having me win to. Then it is a race to see who gets
to the towel first to dry. So fun! I got a video of her that cracks me up when
I watch it of her talking in the mirror while making faces with her mouth.
Hopefully it will load.
She loves to run around the block and I am grateful that we
have a nice neighborhood that she can do that. I still worry. I am going to be
awful when I have to send her off to school on the bus. We tell her to watch
for cars backing out of driveways, and so she stops at each driveway and looks
both ways before going across. Right now
it is strolling her baby around the block with a stroller that it leaning
because it is missing screws or they broke off, she doesn’t seem to mind
though.
When I ask her to do something that she doesn’t want to do,
she says, “I am sooo tired” while falling onto the floor so dramatic like.
Sheesh, this drives me crazy!
Some of her favorite things are plain pinto beans, carrots,
watermelon, grapes. Cucumbers, and bananas. She doesn’t like her food mixed.
Julie: Why did Elsa freeze everything?
Me: Because she did not know how to control her powers.
Julie: I don’t want to have powers, I want to grow up and be
a Mom. I just want to be a Mom. Will my belly button change(don’t know where
that came from, haha).
Melanie
Melanie loves oatmeal, she pretty much waits to eat anything
else until I give her her oatmeal. She also loves bananas, beans, peas, bread,
popcorn, and nectarines.
Rob made Julie a house out of the paper towel box. She had fun coloring all over it.
My brother drew a cute picture of Julie, maybe I should get it framed.
I love making these pita pizzas!
When
Rob was in Ohio for a business trip, I had my mom watch my kiddos one
morning so I could go to the Temple. Seems so hard to get there these
days, and it was wonderful. It was snowing pretty good when I went, but
was beautiful when I came out. So glad I made it that morning.
It is always kind of strange when one direction looks like this and then...
it is beautiful and sunny in the opposite direction.
Fun in a box
Climbing and more climbing.
Playing and drinking their green smoothies.
Julie started preschool since they had some openings and she is loving it.
Melanie found the bag of cheerios in the diaper bag and got it open. Haha!
Melanie has been loving playing the piano, and of course Julie has to join in since Melanie is doing it.
Loves to turn our rug over and scratch the bottom. Loves texture.
I had a box of DI stuff on our kitchen floor and Melanie found it and unloaded everything.
Enjoyed listening to Conference.
I
love Julie's little people and I love that she made them with her
cheerios. Her first one wasn't quite as elaborate and the next days
creation, which has hair and arms.
More messes.
Eye appointment in Riverton at the Moran Eye Center.
She walked all the way in and all the way out, gotta practice.
These two love being outside, all day long Melanie is signing "outside" to go out. Springtime
Having fun sticking pom poms down her shirt and having her get them out.
Beautiful
spring blossoms on my neighbors tree. Julie has noticed all the
blossoms this year. She will point them out while driving.
Trying to get her used to the grass, she is getting there but still had to have her feet on Grandma.
Love this!
Julie's awesome tower she built.
Admiring Grandmas flowers.
Her pink parasol(I hope the spelling is right) she earned.
Molars coming in, drool city.
She just cracks me up, she was so excited to have gotten on the couch and was giving me these awesome faces.
She seems to always have her tongue out lately. She will stick it out
wanting us to stick ours out, and then she will try to grab it. So
funny!
Julie
loves to dump everything out of the bins I have to stay organized so
that she can reorganize. "Mom, I am good at organizing", baskets do not
help keep things organized at our house.
Our little princess.
I
gave Julie a bath in the morning because her hair does a lot better if
it is not smooshed from sleeping while it drys. This particular time her
hair dried super curly, wow, after it was all dry I combed through it
and it relaxed quite a bit but look at that curl. I am still jealous of
both of my kids hair.
Started
keeping a journal for each of the girls with just little things they do
that I don't want to forget. Now to keep up with it.
Life sure keeps me busy.
