March Guest Designer - Patricia Roebuck, Part Two

Hello and Happy Monday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are sharing Part Two with a special designer, Patricia Roebuck, our March Guest Designer.  She is back with another layout that you will just LOVE.

Y'all know that I'm a sucker for pet layouts, and this one is fantastic!

Here's what Patricia has to say about her layout.

I really wanted to highlight the bold design and color of the red and black tape, so I laid out strips onto a scrap piece of paper and sent it through the die cutting machine.  Instead of keeping with just the red and black (which I love) color scheme, I decided to get a little bold with adding more colors.  The red had a little bit of an orange to it, so aqua and teal were complimentary colors.  I wasn’t sure it would work, but I kept adding and balancing the colors, as well as adding a little bit of orange and an orange/yellow.  The woodgrain tape as a border to the focal point of the layout added some great texture to the layout and theme, and added the perfect finishing touch.

Thank you again Patricia for joining us this month!  Please stop by Patricia's blog and say HI!

March Guest Designer - Patricia Roebuck, Part One

Hello and Happy Wednesday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are highlighting a special designer, Patricia Roebuck, our March Guest Designer.  Let's get to know her a little better.

Hello, and thank you again to Love My Tapes for having me.  My name is Patricia Roebuck.  I'm from Louisiana.  I worked for a major insurance company for 20 years prior to becoming a work at home Mom.  I've been married for 21 years.  My husband and I adopted our daughter, Emma, in July of 2009, so we consider ourselves a Chinese Adoptive Family, but 100% American.  It was because of our adoption and wanting to create a Life Book for our daughter, that I got into scrapbooking.  The wait for her was 3 1/2 years, so scrapbooking became more of art journaling and playing with all kinds of mixed media...basically a creative outlet.  Besides watching Disney, Jr., jumping on the trampoline, swimming (in the summer), spending time with our daughter and scrapbooking, I love photography.  Like most people now, my cell phone (iPhone) has become my main daily camera, but there's nothing like having the DSLR in my hands.  I usually will scrap whenever I get the chance and mostly at night.  But my guilty pleasure is TV.  My top two favorite shows are Doctor Who and Merlin, both made by BBC.  But I also love Elementary, Mentalist, Person of Interest, and a few others...guilty pleasure.

Patricia's layout is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!  I am so in love with how she used the blue washi tape!  Super Duper FAB!

Here's what Patricia has to say about her layout.

Blue is one of my favorite colors.  It is such a calming color, and I loved how this tape had waves on it.  So I decided to do a beachy layout.  I don’t usually work with black and white photos, but since the wagon was red and the floaty fish was orange, I decided  to make it black and white.  I wanted the layout to have different shades of blue and aqua with little pops of green and brown.  I laid out strips of the blue tape on kraft cardstock, then cut out hexagons (I still love them) from the background paper to adhere over it.  Once that was done, I misted the hexagon shapes with a teal mist, added a few different stamps on top to give them texture, added the photo, and placed all the buttons, brads, and stamping.  And again, had to use that woodgrain washi tape.  I used it the same way, but on the edge of the layout.  It grounded the layout and design and, again, added that perfect touch.

WOW!  So awesome.  Stop by Patricia's blog and check out her amazing creations!  Also be sure and stop by later this month for another fantastic layout by Patricia!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

February Guest Designer, Keri Babbitt - Part Two

Hello and Happy Monday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are sharing Part Two with a special designer, Keri Babbitt, our February Guest Designer.  She is back with 2 more projects that you will just LOVE.

I am in love with this card.  It is such a perfect design and so wonderfully done.  Let's hear what Keri has to say about it.

I decided to use the negative-space tape-title to create a sentiment for my card.  The bold red heart tape layered perfectly under the polka-dot tape.  I cut an arrow and ribbon-strip from the pink fabric tape, leaving on the paper-backing so it would keep it's shape on the sides of the card.

Keri's second card is so amazing.  Here is what she has to say about it.

More diagonal tape strips here...love how the tapes have a totally different look when placed on dark cardstock. The fabric-tape rosette was really simple to create, just by pleating the tape back against itself as I wound it around a 1 1/2 punched paper circle.

Thank you again Keri for joining us this month.  Please be sure to stop by Keri's blog and say Hi!

February Guest Designer - Keri Babbitt, Part One

Hello and Happy Wednesday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are highlighting a special designer, Keri Babbitt, our February Guest Designer.  Let's get to know her a little better.

Hi, all you tape fans out there...I'm happy to be joining you here at Love My Tapes for the lovely month of February.  I'm a designer who loves creating feminine projects for/about my two daughters.  I love all things vintage, nostalgic, modern, and clean.  Yep, I'm a walking contradiction, lol.  I am inspired by unusual color combos, art mediums of every type, and of course, Pinterest. I'm excited to be sharing some fun projects with you, and hope they inspire you to break out the tapes and get creating!

You can find out more about me, my projects, and sketches, over at my blog: http://kensingtondesign.blogspot.com

Keri's first layout share is a completely adorable layout that uses washi tape in a fun and creative way.  Here's what Keri has to say about her layout.

My first thought when I sat down to create my first GDT project, was to see if my Cameo would cut out a tape-covered title...it totally did. :)  I inked the edges and popped it off the page with some dimensional adhesive.  I also used three vertical tape strips to ground the photo, and created a fun faux-bois frame for the photo mat.

I completely adore Keri's second layout! It is full of fresh color and wonderful design.  Here's what she has to say about it.

With this one, I went with lots of fun tape-layering on the diagonal.  I put the teal-stripe tape on white cardstock before punching out the little hearts, then carefully peeled it back up, to place it on the layout background.

Wow!  Those are amazing layouts!  Thank you Keri for sharing your creativity and talent with us.  Be sure and stop by later in the month for Part Two of GDT projects.

January Guest Designer - Laurel Seabrook, Part Two

Hello and Happy Friday Love My Tapes friends!

Laurel is back with us today with several more fantastic projects!  Laurel shares more wonderful ways to use washi tape!

Here's what Laurel had to say about her project!

I love using tape to create little flags or pennants and this tape worked so well for the theme I was going for.  This card is going to be for an invitation for my daughter's graduation party.

Here's what Laurel has to say about her project:
"I like to make little notebooks for the prize box in my classroom.  I found a bunch of little ones on clearance and they are the perfect size.  After covering this one, I thought how cute a matching pencil would be.  The Love My Tapes Math tape was the perfect tape and of course was so easy to do!"

Here's what Laurel has to say about her project:
"After making the notebook and matching pencil, I then had an idea for a 'love' note for hubby and wrapped more pencils in some Love My Tapes, tied them off with a cute sentiment and then adhered to a card."  A simple little love note"

Thank you again Laurel for sharing your amazing talent and creativity with us!  We have enjoyed your projects!

Have a wonderful weekend!

January Guest Designer - Laurel Seabrook, Part One

Hello and Happy Monday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are highlighting a special designer, Laurel Seabrook, our January Guest Designer.  Let's get to know her a little better.

Hi there, Laurel here and I am thrilled to be a guest here at Love My Tapes.  I have 2 teenage girls, I work full time as a grade one teacher and at night I can be found unwinding from a busy day playing in my scraproom.  I love to create anything with paper; cards, layouts, mini albums and altered art.  I have been fortunate to have been on some wonderful design teams and am currently on the Echo Park, Jillibean Soup, Pebbles and Ribbon Carousel teams.  I have also had many of my projects published in such magazines as CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, Cricut and Paper Crafts.  I enjoy what I do and try to blog about it daily.  You can find me at:  www.want2scrap.blogspot.com

Once again, I am very happy to be here and I hope that you like my projects.

Laurel's first project share is an amazing layout, just packed full of washi tape goodness.  Here's what Laurel has to say about her project.

I love how the teal tape works so well with the theme and colors of the patten paper.  I used the tape to add some contrasting strips and little tabs throughout my layout.  Such an easy way to embellish and add interest.

Isn't that an amazing layout?

Thank you Laurel for sharing your project with us today!  Be sure and stop by later this month for another project by Laurel!

December Guest Designer, Svetlana Austin, Part Two!

Hello and Happy Wednesday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, Svetlana is back with us to share another adorable and simply fantastic project with us!

Yes, they are actually called "matryoshka's" and not "babushka's" ;-)))
I had this set of unpainted "matryoshka's" already for a couple of years. I wanted to decorate them but never got to it - until now!
The self adhesive lace was just perfect for it. It gave the look I tried to achieve and it was so easy to apply. The decoration is very simple but I like the happy bright look of it with a little touch of dimension. My collection of these wooden dolls is growing!

I just LOVE these!  They are so creative and love how she used the lace tape!

Thank you again Svetlana for sharing your talents with us.  Be sure and stop by her blog and say HI!

Have a wonderful day!

December Guest Designer - Svetlana Austin, Part One

Hello and Happy Friday Love My Tapes friends!

Today, we are highlighting a special designer, Svetlana Austin, our December Guest Designer.  Let's get to know her a little better.

Hi, everyone! My name is Svetlana Austin. I am a Russian girl who ended up living in hot South Africa for the last 11 years. I met my husband while he was doing mission work in Russia. We have 2 beautiful sons who keep us busy and fill our lives with sunshine (not that we have lack of it in the northern part of our country). I was always creative. I tried many different crafts but once I was introduced to scrapbooking by my friend, I never stopped. It was 8 years ago. I defiantly love to create layouts about my little boys the most. My aim is to reflect their personalities through my work. I love to make real boy’s layouts full of colors and details. I like to use paint and sprays in my projects, as well as hand-stitching. Sometimes I like to make very romantic and feminine layouts about myself or about my girl-friends. It allows me to express the stuff that I personally like. My scrapbooking style is always determined by photographs I use and what kind of story I would like to tell through my project. I had a pleasure to design for various Russian and international challenge blogs. Also I was honored to be part of Kaisercraft's DT 2011-2012. You can visit my blog at Colourful Memories (http://www.colorfulmemories-protea.blogspot.com/)
I am very thankful to Tina for inviting me to be a Guest Designer at Love My Tapes this month!

Svetlana's first project is an absolutely gorgeous card.  Here's what she had to say about it.

I made this card as a gift for one very special person - for no specific occasion. I decorated it with antique self adhesive lace. I also used floral fabric tape to make little decorative banners. For that I applied two rows  of the tape on a piece of cardstock overlapping it a little. After that I just cut the banners in the size it needed them to be. This allowed me to achieve more dimension on my card.

Svetlana's second project is a stunning layout.

Layout:
Though most of my projects are about my boys I actually like real girly stuff - flowers and some frills. I am so much in love with the lace tape I received that it became the main inspiration behind all of my projects I created for LMT.
This lace has nice shabby feel to it and it is a pure pleasure to be able to stick it on right away. For this layout I made some alteration to the lace by cutting it out to create softer round look on the lacy border.
I also used washi tape to make a little corner matting for my photo. I sticked it on a piece of cardstock and then cut it out. It gave nice contrasting accent to my layout.

WOW - aren't her projects beautiful?

Thank you Svetlana for sharing your talent with us today!

November Guest Designer - Ashli Oliver, Part Two

Hello and Happy Monday!  Today we have a treat for you as we share Part Two of shares from our November Guest Designer, Ashli Oliver.  Without further adieu....

Hi! Yep, you guessed it... Ashli here again. I have some more of that beautiful fabric tape and I am loving the "body" it has before the backing is peeled off. And, backed with some more washi wonderfulness and twirled up... we have a fun and unexpected embellishment for a layout.

Dear washi... I am SO crazy about you!

You do make a page so very special!

And combined with some scraps, we have a fun little page full of washi twirlies:

I have one more project up my sleeve!

For my last layout, I went to town ruffling and pleating this fun math washi. No extra adhesive needed, just unroll and stick.

Easy peasy! So easy that I went a little crazy and even made a Thank You card! ( I never make cards).

See, all this washi has gone to my head, I tell you! But, it's been so fun.

Thanks so very much for having me :)

No, THANK YOU Ashli for joining us this month.  We have completely enjoyed your creativity and passion for washi and decorative tape.  Please be sure and stop by Ashli's blog, PURPLEMAILBOX, and continue to be inspired.

Thank you for taking the time today!  Have a great day!
