Washi Wednesday!

Hi friends and happy Wednesday!  Today I have a layout to share using one of my favorites, the pink dots washi tape.
(Unfortunately the pink dots washi is such a popular tape,
it's sold out in the store right now, but will be back again soon!!)

As you can see I used a little bit of this and a little bit of that from many different scrapbooking manufacturers. To give your eyes a "resting point" I added the pink dot washi to opposite corners,  and also a strip under the photo.
A quick and easy layout with just some simple layering!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Fabric Tape Banner

Good Morning everyone. Annette here with you today with a fun Love My Tapes: Fabric Tape Banner card. This is one of my favorite things to make with my fabric tape. I just cut some strips and wrapped it on Timeless Twine. This card is simple but with the fabric tape banner it makes it really fun..don't you think?
I am full speed ahead with making some fun summer cards. Starting off with a LOT of PINK. As you might be able to tell I am totally loving the color PINK. Love My Tapes has so many fun Fabric Tapes and Washi Tapes that are pink. You can view the entire line at Love My Tapes Online store.

January Guest Designer - Laurel Seabrook, Part Two

Hello and Happy Friday Love My Tapes friends!

Laurel is back with us today with several more fantastic projects!  Laurel shares more wonderful ways to use washi tape!

Here's what Laurel had to say about her project!

I love using tape to create little flags or pennants and this tape worked so well for the theme I was going for.  This card is going to be for an invitation for my daughter's graduation party.

Here's what Laurel has to say about her project:
"I like to make little notebooks for the prize box in my classroom.  I found a bunch of little ones on clearance and they are the perfect size.  After covering this one, I thought how cute a matching pencil would be.  The Love My Tapes Math tape was the perfect tape and of course was so easy to do!"

Here's what Laurel has to say about her project:
"After making the notebook and matching pencil, I then had an idea for a 'love' note for hubby and wrapped more pencils in some Love My Tapes, tied them off with a cute sentiment and then adhered to a card."  A simple little love note"

Thank you again Laurel for sharing your amazing talent and creativity with us!  We have enjoyed your projects!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Washi Hearts

Hi friends, it's Mary Ann here today with a project to share!
Valentine's day is one of those holidays that I like to exchange cards not only with my family, but with my friends too. Here's a card I have all ready to go for one of my girlfriends.
The fun part about this card...a few weeks ago we had lunch together, and when our soup arrived, we both had a doily on the saucer underneath the soup bowls. She's a scrapbooker too, so of course we both saved them ;) A perfect embellishment for the card!! To add a bit of color I added a piece of twine and the super cute red red heart washi tape.
I'm going to tuck this little card into a kraft paper bag with two rolls of the heart washi tapes. A quick and easy gift, but I know she will love it!

Thanks for stopping by!!

This Happened 2012

We all know time flies, and we are already getting close to reaching the end of January!!  So now is a great time to sit down and look back on some of your photos from 2012...or maybe 2011...1995??!!  HA!  We all photos sitting around that need to be scrapped, so I am here to share a fun idea with you today.  Why not do a Year In Review page?  With the popularity of small, square photos this can be a fun and easy page to put together.  I decided to do a layout based on 2012 and picked a significant photo from each month.  I printed the photos at 2.5x2.5 and then cut each one, with thin White border around it.  I set my page up similar to a calendar and then I broke out my Washi Tape, to use as month banners for each photo.

I added strips of tape to White cardstock and then cut the name of each month on the Cameo.  I used toothpicks for the banner and placed them over each of the photos.  I debated on using a colored paper behind the month names, but decided just to do a Brown outline with my fine point Zig pen.  I used a few embellishments, but didn't want to overdo it, because the photos took up a large part of my page.

So why not take a look back over your photos and see what kind of fun theme you can come up with for a Year In Review page, and figure out some inventive ways to work in your rolls of LMT Washi Tape!!

First Class Mail

Good day Love My Tapes fans! Kathy Martin here with  a Pin-spiring project share for you today! What would we all do without the endless inspiration of Pinterest? Whether you're planning a party, looking for a recipe to spice up dinner or need some ideas for using your stash of washi, Pinterest is at our fingertips.

This gorgeous and colorful 'Hello Sunshine' card was created by one of my favorite paper craft artists, Susan Weinroth and I couldn't resist lifting the design for the following Valentine.

Although I used the same design, my project has a completely different feel. I created it to look like a package, the kind I remember getting from my grandmother when people wrapped parcels in twine. Do you remember that?

Thanks for your visit! Wishing you a wonderfully Pinspiring weekend with your washi! :)

Time to Get in Shape!

Well, at least, to get your Washi Tape in shape!!  Have you checked out our new challenge this month at Love My Tapes?  Here are the details, for what's happening this month:

1.  Create a Layout or Card that used washi/lace/fabric tape as a decorate shape.  Think outside the box and let's get creative.  Please let us know how you were inspired.

2. The challenge is open until January 27, 2013.

3. A randomly chosen winner will win some LMT goodies.

I got to play along with our challenge this month, to help give you a little inspiration and here is what I created.

I used several different Washi Tapes and layered them over White cardstock.  Then I used my Cameo to cut Circle shapes for my page.  Once I had the Circles on my layout, I stitched each one and added a few embellishments to each of the shapes.  I even took the challenge one step further and used the same technique, to cut out the title letters for my page.

So if you would like the chance to win some Love My Tapes goodies, make sure you link up your layout or project HERE!  We would love to see what you create!

January Guest Designer - Laurel Seabrook, Part One

Hello and Happy Monday Love My Tapes Friends!

Today, we are highlighting a special designer, Laurel Seabrook, our January Guest Designer.  Let's get to know her a little better.

Hi there, Laurel here and I am thrilled to be a guest here at Love My Tapes.  I have 2 teenage girls, I work full time as a grade one teacher and at night I can be found unwinding from a busy day playing in my scraproom.  I love to create anything with paper; cards, layouts, mini albums and altered art.  I have been fortunate to have been on some wonderful design teams and am currently on the Echo Park, Jillibean Soup, Pebbles and Ribbon Carousel teams.  I have also had many of my projects published in such magazines as CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, Cricut and Paper Crafts.  I enjoy what I do and try to blog about it daily.  You can find me at:  www.want2scrap.blogspot.com

Once again, I am very happy to be here and I hope that you like my projects.

Laurel's first project share is an amazing layout, just packed full of washi tape goodness.  Here's what Laurel has to say about her project.

I love how the teal tape works so well with the theme and colors of the patten paper.  I used the tape to add some contrasting strips and little tabs throughout my layout.  Such an easy way to embellish and add interest.

Isn't that an amazing layout?

Thank you Laurel for sharing your project with us today!  Be sure and stop by later this month for another project by Laurel!

Designer Spotlight - Mary Ann Jenkins

Happy Tuesday Love My Tape Friends!  I hope y'all have had a terrific weekend and your week is even better.

Today, we would like to feature Mary Ann Jenkins, a LMT Designer.  Mary Ann joined the design team in September and we is always coming up with creative uses for washi, lace, and fabric tapes. Let's get to know Mary Ann a little better.

How long have you been crafty?
I've been "crafty" as long as I can remember, but started paper crafting back in the mid 80's. It was just stickers and decorative scissors back then, and after completing my first scrapbook I was hooked!
What got you started in creating ART?
I would have my Grandma to thank for that. When I was a little girl, she would cut paper dolls for me, and make clothes for them out of her left over fabric scraps. I remember when I was about 5, she gave me my own pair of scissors and taught me how to fold and cut the paper to make the cute little dolls. Little did I know that one day I would love playing with paper just as much as when I was 5!

What is a craft tool you can’t live without?
That would have to be my paper trimmer. My hubby bought me a professional paper trimmer a few years ago, one that I would have never spent the $$ on, but it has been worth every penny he spent!  I can't imagine scrapbooking without it!

What is your favorite Love My Tapes product?
I don't know if I could pick just one!! Of course I love LMT's washi tape, but the fabric tape is so much fun to play with too :)

If you could create your own LMT product, what would it be?
I've often wished there was a way to print your own washi tape. Like if you needed washi with purple trees, print it! If you need washi with onion rings, print it! Your own custom washi would sure be fun wouldn't it!

What ‘old school’ product would you like to bring back?
Decorative scissors anyone?  I have almost thrown them away many times, but just can't bring myself to part with them. Maybe someday they will return as a trend in paper crafting, but for now I have them in a pretty little jar in my scrapbook studio.

Please share a quirky fact about yourself.
The first thing that comes to mind is, I like to drink soda (or "pop" for those of you on the East coast) straight out of the can. I don't like it over ice in a glass, in fact, I would rather drink it warm then have to drink it out of a glass. It's a can or nothing at all ;)
I'm loving the 'print your own washi' idea...how about you?

Thank you Mary Ann for sharing a peek into your artistic life.  Thank y'all for stopping by!
