Elizabeth Nude Bonbon OL Necessary Gloss in #2

If you see this post on a site other than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I will only permit reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!

I reviewed some of the Elizabeth lipglosses a while ago (older Nude Bonbon OL Style Glosses here and here and Pink Bonbon Glosses here) but seems the OL Style Gloss got a revamp and is now being called OL Necessary Gloss (at least that´s what Adambeauty lists it as)...btw an OL is an "office lady" so that should mean the gloss comes in natural colors suitable to wear to work.

The gloss tube comes now with a diamond pattern and retails for 600 Yen/each. There are 4 colors of which I chose #2 as it looked very pretty in the online swatch.

The applicator is a spatula-type which makes it easy to pile on the gloss.
The texture is very nice as it´s not thicky and not too thick, just the right texture to give a long-lasting and highly-glossy finish.
This gloss is unscented and pigmented enough to show up well.

#2 is a pretty semi-bright coral pink with only miniscule shimmer.

Overall a lovely gloss that comes in pretty colors and is very affordable (US$8 on Adambeauty.com).

Rating 5/5

Elizabeth Nude Bon Bon Lip Care Essence

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!
Elizabeth is a small Japanese brand that does have some nice products. I reviewed some of their lipglosses and nail colors before (though the latter weren´t that great).

The Lip Care Essence is a new product I believe, I just found it recently on Adambeauty.

It comes in a small tube with a clear plastic spatula applicator. The Lip Essence is a quite slick gloss which is not sticky at all and feels nicely moisturizing.
This gives a glossy finish and lasts decently on me.

The Lip Care Essence is neither scented nor flavored and retails for 600 Yen.

Adambeauty sells this for US$9 incl. shipping (however add US$2 per shipment for registered mail.
Overall a really good product and there is nothing bad I can say about it.

Elizabeth nail colors (Nudebonbon, Pinkbonbon, Frenchbonbon) & Bonbon Top & Base

For some reason I love buying nail polishes even though I have 100s of nail colors here and I am not into wearing nail polish all of the time.

I found these cute little nail colors from Elizabeth on Adambeauty a while ago and ordered them back in September. I believe I paid US$6/each or so?
I got the Bonbon Top & Base, Nudebonbon in 4 & 6, Pinkbonbon in 3 & 4 and the Frenchbonbon in 4. The pics shows the nail polishes in this order from left to right.

The Top & Base is so-so. It´s a clear nail color with a shiny finish but it takes too long to dry. I am used to Rapidry or Seche Vite as they dry my polish within a few minutes but the Bonbon Top & Base needs at least 30 minutes and that´s just not interesting.

The nail colors aren´t much better either. They are sheer and dry slowly (not such a problem when using Rapidry). Some colors are a bit streaky or have a slightly dull finish. I quite like the Pinkbonbon in 3 and the Nudebonbon in 6 which is a beige with a greenish shine so it looks quite interesting.
My main problem is the lasting power which is quite poor, 2 days without chipping tops. It´s not so obvious with the iighter shades though still it bugs me.

Overall a nay for them so my rating is:
Top & Base: 2/5
Nail colors: 2.5/5

Elizabeth Tenshihada Multi Founde Cream SPF 25 PA++ (Angel BB Cream) in #1 Light Ocher

Seems Japanese brands are really starting to catch up with the BB Cream mania! I have about 4 now here to review so I´ll start with the cute new Tenshihada Multi Founde Cream SPF 25 PA++ from Elizabeth which is oh so cute!

I don´t know if you are familiar with Elizabeth which is a Japanese drugstore brand. They have nice lip glosses and lots of other cute stuff. Adambeauty carries a few of their items among them the new Tenshihada BB Cream.

The Tenshihada Multi Founde Cream is probably the cutest BB Cream I have seen so far. It comes in a sweet pink fat squeeze tube and contains 35g. There are 2 shades available and naturally I chose #1 Natural (Light Ocher).

The virtues of this BB Cream are as follows:
-Base
-Foundation
-Concealer (imperfections and pores)
-Sunscreen SPF 25 PA++
-Oil control
-Covering rough/uneven skin
-Resistant to sweat and water
-Moisture care (chamomile extract, cherry blossom extract)
-Free of mineral oil, chemical dyes and fragrance-free
I hope I got all those things correctly =)

The color 1 is a light beige shade which blends in well into my skin-tone. It is probably best if you´re around NC-20-25 but it works for me.
The Angel BB Cream is very lightweight and dries down to a powdery finish within half a minute or so. The oil control of this must be quite amazing as it totally draws all kind of moisture and oil out of my skin and makes it look super matte and feel very tight and uncomfortable. I can wear it only if I use a seriously moisturizing base underneath as otherwise my skin will start to form dry rough patches.

The coverage of this is actually nice, around sheer-medium I´d say. I can´t say much about pore coverage as I have nearly non-existent pores but judging by the overall texture I can imagine that it will cover them a little.

Overall I´d actually give this a good rating and it would probably be perfect if you are an NC-20-25 with oily skin. Or perhapy teenagers might find this nice =)
My favorite BB Cream is still the Natural one from Meishoku (nearly finished my tube by now).

I got mine from Adambeauty.com. There is also a darker color available. Retail in Japan is 1050 Yen (about US$11.50). I paid US$13 shipped.

Elizabeth Pink Bonbon Lip Glosses

After my experience with the fantastic Nude Bonbon Lipglosses from Elizabeth I was trying to hunt down the Pink Bonbon Glosses, a range of 4 soft pink glosses. I found one on eBay for US$7.99 (& US$4 for shipping) and ordered the others from Ichibankao.com for about US$13 or so shipped (listed under Misc Products on the main website)

The tubes look similar except that the Pink Bonbon glosses have a light mint colored cap. The applicator is a very good smooth brush which deposits the right amount on my lips.

The texture is smooth and nice but not as long-lasting as the Nude Bonbon glosses since it's slightly more slick than those.
I think the Nude Bonbon glosses are better in terms of glossiness, pigment and staying power but the Pink Bonbon ones are gorgeous nonetheless.
These are not scented which is perfect for me.

The 4 glosses look almost alike in the tubes, however there are subtle differences between the 4 pinks. The swatch shows #1-4 (from left to right)

#1 Gerbera Pink: Sheer cherry pink without shimmer
#2 Pink Ribbon: Warm light sheer pink with subtle pink shimmer
#3 Aerobeige: Peach pink with subtle shimmer
#4 Dream Rose: Cool pink with shimmer (this has the best amount of pigment in my opinion)

All in all these are pretty good sheer pink glosses so if you are searching for a sheer pink these are a good choice. However these are not really worth paying much more than retail (which is about US$7)

Elizabeth Nude Bonbon OL Style Lip Color in #1 & 3

As most of you might remember I really LOVE the Elizabeth Nude Bonbon Lipglosses (click here and here) as they have a great texture, pretty colors and are dirt cheap. So for me it was a logical step to check out the lipsticks from the Nude Bonbon range as they might be all that =)

The Lip Colors come in pretty simple black and silver swivel-up tubes...nothing special, just your average lipstick.
There are 4 colors to choose out of which I picked 2 colors which seemed to be the pinkest-toned ones so they should flatter me.

The colors are really very pretty and have a satin finish. However the texture of the lipsticks is just mediocre. They are quite drying and feel a bit uncomfortable to wear. They're far away from the quality of lipsticks from Kate, Lavshuca, Integrate and even more far away from the higher end brands like Lunasol, Maquillage etc (which - in a US$9-lipstick - should not be expected anyway).
The lipsticks have decent pigment thus they show up well on my lips.
They aren't fragranced.

#1 bottom and #3 top

The colors I got are somehow quite similar to each other and the swatches on the Elizabeth website are super off as usual.

#1 is left, #3 is right

#1 Nude Cherry:

To me this looks like a medium peachy red when swatched. It looks lighter and pinker when I use it on my lips though.

#3 Chiffon Rose:

This is a lighter peachy pink beige. It's similar to #1 in terms of undertone but a little lighter.

These retail for 840 Yen/each. I purchased mine from ichibankao, listed under Misc items.

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Elizabeth Nude Bonbon OL Style Gloss Part 2

I already posted about the Elizabeth Nude Bonbon OL Style Glosses in #3 and #4 here. I really love these glosses so I finally ordered the gloss in #1 Feminine Beige (Pearl In) from Adambeauty couple of weeks ago.

The gloss in Feminine Beige doesn't disappoint, it's as fantastic as the other 2 glosses.

I won't go into detail about the texture so I will just proceed to describe the color.

It's a gorgeous slightly shimmery pink beige that looks so pretty and natural on me! It's a bit similar to color #4 though it has a bit shimmer and is slightly more pink than #4.

I didn't pick up #2 as it looked a bit orange on the pics provided online but I am still thinking of ordering it. It might well turn out very pretty.

Here are the glosses in 1, 3 and 4:

I paid US$7 from Adambeauty so this is a real deal.

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Elizabeth Nude Bonbon OL Style Gloss

Until I found these cute glosses on Adambeauty I had never heard of a Japanese brand called Elizabeth (check out the website here. They have an array of cute and very inexpensive items ranging from point makeup to a pore care skincare series.)

Obviously it must be popular as the 2 Nude Bonbon OL Style Glosses I purchased have a @Cosme gold medal sticker (rank #1 in 2007) attached to the package.

The Nude Bonbon series offers 4 colors to choose from of which I picked out 2 (#3 and 4).

The rouge-type glosses come in small simple wand tubes with probably about 5-6ml content (I can't seem to find the amount included listed).
The applicator is a great soft brush (nothing like the crap Bobbi Brown is selling) which applies the gloss totally evenly and picks up enough color to get really nicely coated lips with a couple of swipes.

The texture, color and pigment of the glosses are just fantastic. I really LOVE these glosses. The formula is a slick, only very slightly sticky but thicker texture that lasts very well and feels very comfortable to wear. I wore my gloss today for like 2 hours and the gloss had neither gummed up like some lipglosses do nor really faded. Really impressive!
The finish is very glossy without shimmer or glitter.

The level of pigment in these glosses is really good. I really get annoyed from glosses that look pretty on the tube and are just clear on my lips. Pretty useless for me but the Elizabeth glosses pack just the right amount of color for my taste.
To add to my joy these are not scented or flavored. They don´t even have an icky plastic smell some unscented glosses tend to have.

You know what's the best point? These babies cost only US$7/shipped from Adambeauty! I indulged in 2 glosses and will probably get #1 as well (#2 is the only color that looks too orange for my taste).
As the glosses retail for 630 Yen (about US$6.50 at current exchange rate) Adambeauty is giving us a really good deal.

The colors I got are #3 Rose Happiness (with pearl) and #4 Elegant Beige.
#3 gives me pretty "baby lips" you see so often in Japanese beauty ads. It's a nude pink with miniscule shimmer (honestly I wouldn't have noticed real shimmer if it wasn't listed on Adambeauty as "pearl in" shade)

#4 is a perfect soft nude red which looks pretty much like a half shade darker and a tad browner than my natural lip color. I really love this color so much!

I am really happy I got these glosses even though I had never heard of them. These are definitely very worth checking out!
