...Halloween Sketch Card

This is my card for Wednesday's Sketch Challenge #246, and Friday's Limited Sketch Challenge #238 at SCS. I flipped the sketch (shocker, I know! LOL) 90 degrees to the left, and used one of the new Halloween stamp sets from Stampendous called Costume Kids. I knew I had to have that set as soon as I saw it on my last trip to Archiver's! I watercolored the precious image with an Aquapainter, then decided to use some patterned paper from the retired Ghostly Greetings Designer Series Paper pack. I added a little paper piercing along with a piece of Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon, an Orange Button from the Sherbet Designer Button collection, and some Linen Thread to complete the card.

That's it for now! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you again later today with a card for the Mojo Monday Sketch. Until then...

...What? No Piercing?

Happy Father's Day to all of the daddies out there! Mine is actually working today, but I will be giving him a call later on to wish him a wonderful one! I am home by myself for a bit while the hubby enjoys lunch at his mom and dad's with the boys, and I wanted to share a birthday card that I made. I needed a few b-day cards for this week, so I have mass-produced this one! I started with a Tempting Turquoise Cardstock base, then matted each additional layer with either Green Galore Cardstock or Basic Black Cardstock. The patterned papers were from the Rainbow Sherbet Designer Series Paper pack. The Whisper White Cardstock panel was stamped with one of the images from "Changito Birthday" in Basic Black Craft Ink. It was then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and a Heat Gun. The sentiment was stamped in the same manner as the focal image. I colored the cake and monkey with Copic Sketch Markers, then added a piece of 5/8" Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon to complete the card.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you all again some time next week. Until then...

...I Think I'll Hang On To You

So what do you think of the Father's Day card I made for Gabriel to give to his dad? The Changitos from Stampendous' Cling Rubber Stamps line are too flippin' cute! The image is called "Knee Hugger", and the sentiment is called "Hang On To You". I started with a Kraft Cardstock base, then matted each additional layer with Always Artichoke Cardstock. All of the patterned papers were from the Manchester Designer Series Paper pack. The image was stamped in Basic Black Craft Ink on Watercolor Paper, embossed, and colored using an Aquapainter and Classic Ink Pads. I used the Photo Corner Punch in the upper right-hand side of the card, then matted the three Silver Brads with some artichoke cardstock that was punched out using the 1/4" Circle Punch.

That's it for me today! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you again tomorrow with some weekend sketch challenges. Until then...

...A Sketch For You To Try Card

This was my submission for today's Sketch For You To Try at Jen del Muro's blog. I started with a Kraft Cardstock base, then matted each additional layer with Always Artichoke Cardstock. The patterned papers were from the Manchester Designer Series Paper pack, and the center Kraft Cardstock panel was embossed with one of SU's Texture Plates Kit #4 called Distressed. The second and fourth layers were pierced with a Mat Pack and Paper Piercer. The Watercolor Paper focal panel was created using Spellbinders' Classic Oval Nestabilities and the Sizzix Big Shot. The image was from the Stampendous Changito line called "Piggyback"...I also drew a line to separate the floor from the ceiling with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. The monkeys were stamped in Basic Black Craft Ink, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then colored with an Aquapainter and Classic Ink Pads. The only embellishment I used was Baja Breeze Corduroy Button along with a piece of Linen Thread.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by again, and I will see you tomorrow with another card. I have alot of cards to get finished before we head out of here tomorrow...plus I have to pack all of my stuff back up for the trip home. We have had such a blast here at Home Harvest Retreat, and we would like to thank Fran Randolph and her husband for their hospitality...and especially the FOOD! OMG...can Fran cook! Tonight's meal was worth the trip whether we got any stamping done or not! :)
