Fall birthday card

Here's a birthday card I made for a colleague at work and have been meaning to post for almost a week. The renovations at home got a bit out of control and we had to move out... hopefully, for just another week.
Jillibean Soup papers; Simon Says Stamp birthday sentiment die; Nuovo chocolate fondue glitter accent; Eyelet Outlet acorn brad; unknown ribbon and squirrel corrugated shape. This card was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts sketch 183 (but I meissed the deadline to post on their page):

World cardmaking day

This weekend I played along with the Jillibean Soup card making challenges.

My first card is for the sketch challenge:
Jillibean Alphabet Soup II paper, die cut, epoxy buttons, and letter stickers. Other: Wink of Stella glitter pen; WRMK Sew Easy stitch piercer; unknown floss and card base. And here is the sketch:

The second card I made with the color challenge:
Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes stickers; Tim Holtz tiny attacher; Ranger Glossy Accents; Little B word die; Stampin' Up! grunge stamp; Simon Says Stamp slate ink; unknown cardstock, brads, and patterned paper scraps. And here is the color pallet:

As it turns out, these colors are not in any of my paper collections, and I had to get creative. I also used the Atlantic Hearts sketch #179:

Frog card

Ali brought the Atlantic Hearts blog to my attention, so I decided to play along with this week's challenge.

Fun with cards

It's been a while since I posted cards, mostly because I make them in a hurry and forget to photograph them. I really like using the Simple Stories Snap birthday pack for card making.
WRMK Hippity Hoppity paper for the background and hand-cut little presents (unknown).

Here is another one:
Sassafras Lass background paper. What took the longest was cutting out those little presents.

And as I was in a fussy cutting mood, I did some paper piecing with a Fiskars stamp set:
The greeting is a die from Simon Says Stamp. Versafine black ink, unknown papers.

This one is a baby card where I was playing with a Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad (tomato).
Stampin' Up! stamp set, Jillibean Soup frame, American Crafts ribbon, Recollections sticker.

Teacher thank you cards

Last month, I made these cards for teacher appreciation week. I glued a gift card inside and stapled the cards to little bags of truffles.
I used patterned paper from Jillibean Alphabet Soup 2  collection and assorted 3" x 5" cards folded in half.

Forgotten cards

Happy New Year!

I didn't post any of the cards and scrapbook pages I made last fall, so I'm trying to sort my pictures and post them before I accumulate new projects. These are some of the cards (and unfortunately I didn't take photos of half the ones I made):
Bella Blvd. One Fall Day papers, Little B. word die, unknown cardstock.

Jillibean frame and Atomic Soup papers and sticker; Simon Says Stamp sequins;  Little B. word die.

The background paper here is so old, I can't remember the company. Maybe My Mind's Eye? The science papers and stickers are Jillibean Atomic Soup. Simon Says Stamp word die; DCWV glitter paper.

Stampin' Up! patterned paper, markers (More Mustard and Calipso Coral), and cardstock (Whisper White); Versafine Tuxedo Black ink; American Crafts clear embossing powder; Tim Holtz distress inks (Barn Door and Antique Linen); Offray ribbon; stamp from EttyonEtsy; Darice note card.

May your year be as sweet as apples with honey.

Stamping on cards

I made another two birthday cards this week. Lots of stamping, which I haven't done much before.

Stampin' Up! Wildflower Meadow stamp, matching embossing folder, and card stock (Whisper White and Not Quite Navy). I inked the stamp with Crumb Cake then colored the stamp with Night of Navy, Real Red, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Garden Green before stamping (all from SU!). Sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp.

SU! card stock, and Tape it and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets; Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders sentiment stamp, inks (Schoolhouse Red, Lipstick Red, Slate, and Fog), and jewels; Jillibean Soup staples paper; Versafine black ink; Versamark embossing ink; American Crafts clear embossing powder; and K&Co. layered sticker. I really liked the effect of clear embossing over black ink (although the photo doesn't do it justice).

Birthday wishes

I get to make a lot of birthday cards for my coworkers. Here are 2 more:
Bella Blvd. paper, stripped mini-bag, and assorted iCandy from the Card Kitchen September 2012 kit.
Other: Memory Box birthday stencil, Ranger texture paste, Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die, Jillibean Soup sticker sentiment, Viva Decor pens, unknown card stock and ribbons.

I'm having fun with the texture paste. For this card I paired the birthday stencil with the Tim Holtz Rays. Other: Jillibean Soup stamp, American Crafts cardstock, unknown embroidery floss and button.

Repurposed tag card

One of Dada's graduate students defended her dissertation and here is the card I made to go with her farewell gift:
October Afternoon paper; Jillibean Soup sentiment stamp; Simon Says Stamp ink; Ranger distress ink; unknown button. The Tag came from the jeans I bought at ModCloth, and I added some Ranger mat medium to the cord to make it hold the swirl I wanted.

While I was making this card, my younger son started playing with the camera, so here are some "making of" photos where you can see my crafting area:
