Is anyone else ready to swear off all toys and break their kids little hearts?!
Logan is a little obsessed with Thomas the Train. Everynight we read 3 books and one of those books is ALWAYS the Thomas the Train catalog, there is no story just pictures of trains and tracks. He goes threw and tells me all their names. Grandma bought wooden tracks for his birthday and I bought an expansion set offline which turned out to be plastic tracks which I couldn't return grrr. I can't find all the cool bridges and tunnel stuff for the plastic electric tracks either. But he has 2 little sets now but wants more more more. I took him to toys are us, he didn't want the thomas bike or the real car, he wanted the thomas the train set that was $170! It has mountains and bridges... $170!!! And the trains are $20 a piece, that is insane! He has enough trains as it is silly boy.
This set is only... $400
Logan is liking the girl trains and knows there names: sally
Those freaken ZuZu pets are ridiculous to, I found a box that had all the accessories and two pets, I'm thinkin, "Ok, if its like $40 I'll get it," cuz Logan thinks they are hilarious (he chases the fake hamster around cracking up at our friends house). I have the clerk do a price check and it was $140! Why can't Logan like cars still, you could pick up a cute cars course for $20. *Sigh*
These are only $8 but you can't find them ANYWHERE
People are selling them on ebay for $50 cuz its the hot new toy
I'm waiting until January when I can walk in and buy one.
here is the whole set for $140
re - freaken - diculous
Well I got him a three wheeled spider man scooter and some playdough and I'll probably get him Handy Manny tools after Christmas when the go on sale for $15, he carried them around everywhere in the store saying he was going to fix this and that, so cute! He loves Handy Manny.
I feel so guilty we are skimping on christmas this year but my school is costing us so much money, I had no idea it was this expensive! They don't accept student loans so I got enough grants from the school to cover my tuition (which is cheap $200 a month)! But at Orientation yesterday we took a trip to the book store and added up all the books that we need (there are over 20) and it came to $1500.00. I seriously just wanted to cry right there! I'm pretty sure Lance squeezed out a few tears after I told him. Well I found a girl selling a lot of her books which are older versions but I really dont care at this point, so I bought 7 for $150, not to bad huh! The rest will still cost me about $600 because they are in packets with skills books and CD's and crap but that saved like $750! Wahoo. Mr. Tax return will have to pay off the credit card I put them on but its only two months away.
I'm just rambling on because I haven't taken any new pictures, but there is what I'm thinking right now :)

Honestly, who would pay $400 for a train set?! That's a little ridiculous...
{P.S. we are living in Bountiful, the hubby works in SLC and I am a nomad}
Love you Lin!
Aw, that stinks! Seriously, toys are SO expensive these days.. maybe you could find a cheaper set somewhere, or have him go to Toys R Us with you, and pick out something less expensive? :D
Merry Christmas, and good luck finding affordable gifts!
What the hell are zu zu pets? They look ugly and a little frightening! Why don't we all go in on the thomas the train set for Logan for Christmas?!?!?!?!
