NEW PATTERNS

I have added 5 new patterns to my website!  www.lizartneedlepoint.com
They are all on the "Bargello 2/Needlepoint" page.
The 4 Bargello designs are at the top of that page and the Leaping Stag is at the very bottom of that page.
I hope you like them.

Nature - Sky FINISHED

Finally, Nature-Sky is finished, the feather is attached, the instructions are written.  That means all three of the Nature series are finished!  Earth is being piloted right now and Sky will go to the pilot stitcher on Monday.

I hope to be able to add these to my website in May or June. Stay tuned for the next adventure!

All three are shown below.

Nature-Sky, Mostly Finished

Nature-Sky is finished.  Well, except for the feather.
The feather will cover most of the large light area.
So, the next time I go to Michaels, I'll see if I can find the "right" feather.
Or, DH will be visiting our Reno house for a few days & I'll have him look to see if I have any white feathers in the "feather box" in my craft cupboard up there!
No hurry though as I need to write up the instructions before attaching the feather!

Nature - Sky

Nature-Sky has been in the works for a month or so.  I have been working on it, just haven't posted about it yet!  And, yes, it will be round like the other Nature designs.  Sky is the last one and will eventually have a feather on it.

I had a lot of trouble with this one.  Too bad when you can't read your own directions!  Actually, the directions are fine, it's the operator who can't count!  I hope to have this finished by next week.

BLOGGER NOTE:  I am able to post & publish if I use Google Chrome as a browser.  I prefer Explorer, but I still can't post my Blog from there.

Nature-Earth Finished

Nature-Earth is finally finished - and the rock rocks!
I found the rock in the aquarium section of Petsmart!  They had fairly small bags, about 12 rocks, for $1.  Hard to beat that!
Now if I could just get the directions finished!
And, Nature-Sky, the 3rd in the series, is waiting to be stitched.  It is kitted & ready to go, just have to finish up a couple more things.

Nature-Earth, Progress #3

Nature-Earth is finished.  Well, almost.  Now I have to find a rock to fasten to it.  I'm on the hunt!  I thought I had found one at our Reno house, but it turns out to be too big.  I hope to find one this week, so I can get this piece completely finished & headed for a frame.

And HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you!

Nature-Earth Progress 2

I've completed quite a bit on Nature-Earth.  I should be able to finish it in a couple of good sessions.  I like working on this piece, it is just kind of fun!  I have made quite a few, ahem, corrections to the chart as I stitch.  So, I'll need to redo the chart!
Then I have Nature-Sky ready to stitch!  I hope the chart for that one will be closer to reality (sigh).

Nature - Earth

I have begun the model for the next in the Nature series.  This one is Earth.  All of the brown is done.  The rest will be in the shades of blue you see in the photo.  It is mostly Silk & Ivory, with a little Watercolours & Neon Rays Plus thrown in.  It goes very quickly, but does require that I watch my chart carefully.  There's going to be considerable editing of the chart before it can be published!

We are in our Sparks (Reno) NV house now where it is COLD!  We didn't expect it to be so cold, so it is a good thing we came up when we did to get the house ready for winter!  Brrrrr we even had a few snow flurries.

Nature-Sea, Finished

Nature-Sea is finally completely finished.  I remembered how to attach the shell!  The first time I did this, about 30 years ago, the shell I had was much flatter.  Flatter is easier to attach!  But I finally got it done.  It's a great weight off :-) !!

Next challenge was to see if it would work in one of Sudberry House's Crown Plates.  I knew the size would be right because I designed it that way, but I wasn't at all sure I would be able to mount it properly to fit.

Because of the shell, I could not use the glass.
Problem:  I couldn't get the glass out of the frame!  Called DH in and we ended up taking it outside and breaking the glass.  Just couldn't get it out.  I don't know if all the Crown Plates are like that or if I just had a difficult one!

Anyway, here it is, all mounted in the Crown Plate frame.  And it is already gone!  This was a Christmas present for a dear friend and he happened to stop by yesterday.  So off it went to it's new home.  I did get pictures though!
UPDATE:  Sudberry House says:
"Sorry you had trouble getting the glass out. It should come right out, but a few of them have been rather snug fitting."

Nature-Sea Update

The stitching is finished on "Earth - Sea".  Now I have to attempt to attach a shell and, the hard part, write up the directions!  I like the craziness of the Bargello!

I doubt that I'll get to the shell till after the holidays, but I'll let you know how it goes & post another photo whenever.

Nature - Sea

Many years ago I stitched the above trilogy.  It is called Earth, Sea and Sky.  It was a very unique Bargello back then and incorporated a "found" object on each section.  I think it is still unique today.

I have decided to rework these 3 designs, using today's materials and publishing them as 3 separate designs.  The threads I used on the original are no longer available and at that time canvas only came in brown or white.  This time I will be using Silk & Ivory, Watercolours and some metallics.  At least that is what I know right now!  The "found" objects will be purchased, not found (smile) and are available at most craft stores.

I have started the new version of "Sea".  It is about half finished.  So far it is all Silk & Ivory on Sandstone canvas.  I may use blue canvas for the other two.  I have purchased a box of shells and hope I can figure out how to write instructions for attaching one!  Each piece will be an 8" round and I am hoping (fingers crossed) they will fit in the new Sudberry House round Crown Plate frames.

I have changed the name to "Nature - Sea", "Nature - Sky", etc. What do you think?
Jane (Chilly Hollow) mentioned that I have new Bargellos in the works.  The other one is the one I posted about a week or so ago.  And she's right, I don't have a name for it yet.  I'm hoping to start the next variation of that one over the holidays.
