It's really coming together now! I'm starting to get really anxious for the guest room/bath to be finished. Here's where we stand as of now - All plumbing is done. All drywall is up. All wiring is done. The shower floor and drain are in. David is in there right now taping/mudding the drywall getting it ready for me to paint. After paint, the baseboards go up, more painting, tile, new vanity/mirror, toilet, and shower get installed. Then the carpet and furniture! Soooo close!

A Fun Day With Friends
Last week, Jade's twin friends came over and had a sleepover. Amber was jealous and decided to sleep on the bed with them. They didn't sleep longer than 3 hours all night because they spent a lot of time talking, and talking, and talking, and giggling, and talking, and giggling all night and woke up super early to talk and giggle some more. Definitely reminded us why we avoid sleepovers like the plague. lol Monday was President's Day so after spending the morning getting dressed/eating breakfast/cleaning up/more talking and giggling, we (as in I) made a picnic lunch and headed to the park. All the girls had fun feeding the ducks and playing on the playground. Afterwards, they had even more fun playing volleyball in the backyard. We sure had fun with you, Sydney and Mikayla!

Little Girls
While Amber and Jade are at school all day, I get the pleasure of playing with these two little cuties! I just love these two sweet girls! They both have their moments of crankiness and frustration, but in general they are both such pleasant and cheerful littles. Paisley likes to try and boss Shyla around, but Shyla is learning very quickly how to annoy the heck out of Paisley. It's pretty funny to watch. And I don't think I could ever get enough kisses and hugs and snuggles and "I love you's" from either one!
I sewed these dresses over the weekend (well, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning). Shyla's will fit for awhile cause I folded up the bottom border and as she gets taller I can let it out to make the dress longer.
Paisley's been really into puzzles lately. I bought her these two as incentive for taking naps. Back in the beginning of December, naps were kinda dropped due to the house being utter chaos as out moving date loomed ever closer, then holidays and unpacking, and now I'm ready for naptime to be reinstated! Thankfully, it only took 1 week for naptime to be a normal, expected, daily occurance and all meltdowns relating to it have disappeared! =)
Here's a good example of Shyla wanting to be just like Paisley - Papa bought Paisley a towel at Goodwill. So I spread it in the grass so Paisley could sit on it and enjoy being outside. Shyla instantly ran over to it and stood on it and wouldn't budge. Happy as a clam just standing on Paisley's new towel. Obviously, this wasn't a hit with Paisley. lol So I got Shyla her own towel to sit on and everyone was happy. Shyla sat on her towel for a good 20min (which is impressive for a 1yr old!) just talking and laughing at herself and the birds.

Spring
Here in Arizona, spring comes in February. It's already hit 80 a couple days recently though this weekend is supposed to be chilly (60) and wet. But we sure have enjoyed the beautiful weather! On Wednesday, Amber and Jade had no school (teacher training day) so after running some errands in the morning, I made them sandwiches which they ate outside. Then after naps, we went to the park with some stale bread to feed the horde of ducks and geese. I gave Shyla a slice for the ducks, but she decided to eat it herself instead. =)

Fun Times
Since Amber's birthday, we've done a few things. We went looking at (and fell in love with) camper trailers for fun, and RV show at the Cardinal Stadium, did more work on the guest room, and had a pretty successful shindig with cousins and missionaries!
We're not in the market for a camper trailer at the moment, though it is something we will eventually buy. Right now we're really looking for a landscaping trailer (one with either the metal grate sides or solid sides) and a riding lawnmower. After that, I think David wants to get a boat. And then it will be camper trailer time. But it's always fun to browse and dream. =)
The guest room is coming along....slowly. But at least there's been progress. The space for the shower is framed, the closet is framed and getting drywall, the plumbing for the shower is done, the trench to connect the shower drain to the sewer line is dug, lights and vents have been moved, and I think that's where we stand as of now. We still need to obviously connect the drain to the sewer, install the shower, pick up a new vanity, drywall and texture everything, paint, carpet, tile, and then it'll be DONE! Can't wait!

David digging out the sewer trench
The toilet goes where that plastic bottle is and the drain for the shower is in the upper right corner - the circle up there.
So what started as having my cousins over for dinner, turned into a pretty big affair. Alex was over with his kids, and I had signed us up to feed the missionaries that night, too. I had forgotten about that until the night before when they called to confirm. lol My bad! And I didn't know about Alex coming to work on the guest bathroom plumbing until about 10min before he showed up. David's bad! haha But we made it work and it turned out to be a very enjoyable evening!

Somehow Amber convinced the small kids to pull her around on her blanket - while wearing a cape and playing a ukulele! hahaha
