Always ask your health care professional

Growth hormone known by some as hgh is naturally produced in the human body, the side effects of using hgh are rare but have been known to happen. Normally they occur when someone has taken higher-than-recommended doses of hgh for more than the normal recommended time period. Problems can also be caused when using any product, including a hgh releaser when consumers to not check with a health care professional prior to taking supplements. Consumers should examine their reasoning for wanting to take a product, at times there are other options.

Internet has vast Medicare D info

Prescription Drug Plan or "PDP," better known to many as Medicare Part D, was created under the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (2003 Medicare Act) to help cover the costs of prescription drugs. Prescription drug coverage is offered only by private companies contracted with Medicare through stand-alone plans and through HMOs, PPOs, and PFFSs. Those who have Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage are eligible to enroll in Part D, it's a voluntary enrollment program. There is quite a bit of information out there on the Internet about Medicare part D plans for those who will be covered under Medicare as well for those assisting family members.

FDA: Do Not Feed SimplyThick to Premature Infants

The FDA is advising parents, caregivers and health care providers not to feed SimplyThick, a thickening product, to premature infants. The product may cause necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a life-threatening condition.
FDA first learned of adverse events possibly linked to the product on May 13, 2011. To date, the agency is aware of 15 cases of NEC, including two deaths, involving premature infants who were fed SimplyThick for varying amounts of time. The product was mixed with mothers' breast milk or infant formula products.
Illnesses have been reported from at least four different medical centers around the country. The illnesses of which FDA is aware involve premature infants who became sick over the past six months. SimplyThick was added to the feeding regimen of those infants, who later developed NEC, to help with swallowing difficulties stemming from complications of premature birth.
The current situation is unusual because NEC most often occurs in babies within the hospital early in their premature course. But among the ill babies of which FDA is aware, some had been discharged from the hospital to home on a feeding regimen that included SimplyThick and then fell ill at home.

Is it a magic powder?

Creatine increases the body's ability to produce energy quickly. Chad Kerksick, Ph.D., assistant professor of exercise physiology at the University of Oklahoma describes it like this, "If you can lift one or two more reps or 5 more pounds, your muscles will get bigger and stronger.

Research shows that creatine is most effective in high-intensity training and activities that require short bursts of speed. The use of creatine powder has been deemed to generally be safe to use. However, my standard advice applies, talk to your health care professional first since it's not for everyone and it's not without some side effects.

It's one way to clean ...

While I have never been one of those who has used colon cleansing products, I have friends and family who have taken advantage of these types of products and who claim they have experienced health benefits from them. One piece of advice I've given, that most of them also followed, was to check with their health care professional before they used this type of a product. Also compare prices and ingredients, since at times there may be a variation. As with any health related product, it pays to do your homework ... you'll get a much cleaner result ...

Changes in cosmetic options surgical and non-surgical

While rhinoplasty surgery is one of the most common surgery performed worldwide, many associate a stigma with it due to the unflattering nose surgeries of high profile celebrities. However due to new techniques in plastic surgery, normal and organic results are not only becoming possible, but are becoming the norm. Open rhinoplasty is a recently developed technique for nose surgery that allows for superior precision and control over the procedure, and many plastic surgeons are adopting this method to achieve perfectly desired results for their patients.

The increase in non-surgical options when it comes to cosmetic enhancements has continued, with products out there designed to replace surgical liposuction, lipoquick, is one example and other cosmetic treatments such as chemical peels and Botox injections.

Tips on quick acne solutions

When you have an event or a special day coming your way, it seems that's when acne strikes or becomes more of an issue to worry about. There are ways to how to get rid of acne fast that can work for you to relieve the appearance of acne.

These tips can help reduce the number and severity of your breakouts:

  • Washing your skin is essential, but washing too much can actually cause damage by overdrying your skin or irritating existing acne.
  • Remember to wash after exercising because sweat can clog your pores and make your acne worse. If you work around greasy food or oil or if you've been sweating from heat or because you've been working hard, wash your face and other acne-prone areas as soon as possible.
  • If you use skin products, such as lotions or makeup, look for ones that are noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic, which means that they don't clog pores.
  • If you can't live without your hair spray or styling gel, be sure to keep them away from your face as much as possible. Many hair products contain oils that can make acne worse.
  • If you get acne on areas such as your chest or back, avoid wearing tight clothes, which can rub and cause irritation.

Liposuction in a bottle?

Getting rid of fat is a multi-billion dollar industry that some opt for a surgical solution to help them after they feel dieting and exercise did not work. There are a variety of products out there advertised that claim they reduce or remove fat. Some people state they've had successful results with products like lipo 6 and have shared their reviews/experiences with that and other products. My standard advice is to check with your health care professional before taking any diet product, nutritional supplement or begin a diet plan if your goal is to loose more than ten pounds.

One pill makes you smaller

I'm always cautious when I read claims about finding a diet pill that really works, I personally believe whenever the additional language of "diet and exercise program included" that most of the weight loss is related to the diet and exercise. However, there are those of you who do take diet pill and other diet supplement products and feel that it has added to your weight loss success. Hence, the sharing of information with the patent advice of talking with your health care professional before you take any diet product or embark on a diet where you have a goal of losing more than a few pounds.

Study suggests home care answer in cutting costs

A nationwide increase in the use of home health care can save the U.S. billions of dollars in hospital costs, according to the results of a new study conducted by Frank Lichtenberg, the Courtney C. Brown Professor of Business at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Professor Lichtenberg estimates the nation may have saved as much as $25 billion in total hospital payroll costs in 2008 alone thanks to the growth of the home health care sector during the previous 10 years. He pointed out that "it is a reasonable calculation" that further savings will be realized in the years ahead if the use of home care continues to grow.

Funding for the study was provided by Home Instead, Inc., an American-based international franchisor with more than 60,000 trained CAREGivers(SM).

2011 to Be the Year of the Diet

Although devoid of any startling recommendations, the updated USDA dietary guidelines in conjunction with technological advancements and First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" program positions 2011 as the year of the diet, according to an article in this month's edition of Food Nutrition & Science.

According to Phil Lempert, founder of Food Nutrition & Science and CEO of The Lempert Report and SupermarketGuru.com, 2011 will mark the time when Americans make permanent, positive changes in their diets.

"People will stop demonizing single nutrients or ingredients and begin approaching food more holistically," says Lempert. "Shoppers will circle the aisles seeking foods rich in substance, vitamins, minerals and of course, taste."

Prevent weight gain by eating healthy

Before you end up having to search for diet pills that work, the easiest way to prevent needing to lose weight is to not gain unneeded weight. Recently Congress has focused on this issue, an example, this statement from Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi:

"Today, the House took action to tackle the twin challenges of childhood hunger and childhood obesity. Addressing childhood nutrition is a moral issue. It's about our future, our health, and our well-being as a nation. But it is also a matter of our competitiveness and our national security.

"Our future prosperity depends on having a highly-educated, skilled workforce that is ready to compete and get the job done. Yet far too many children in our country are held back by hunger from reaching their full potential. The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is a critical step forward in correcting this injustice and giving all of our youth a healthy choice and a fair shot at a better future. And this landmark legislation brings some common sense back to our school cafeterias and snack machines – and empowers parents to fight the growing epidemic of childhood obesity.

"I applaud my colleagues on both sides of the aisle who voted for this legislation, and I thank the First Lady, Michelle Obama, for shining a bright light on the need to get our students moving and make America's children healthier."

Hardcore sounds...hardcore

Associating the word "hard core" with a diet product is designed to bring attention to it and to help impress upon consumers that this product is stronger or more efficient than others. One of the popular products out there using the hardcore designation is easy to find by the hydroxycut hardcore x reviews and the websites selling the product. As always, check with your health care professional before starting any diet plan, even a hardcore one.

FDA warns consumers about MMS

Consumers are being warned not to drink a product sold on the Internet as a medical treatment after some users got sick after drinking it—including one person who had a life threatening reaction.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the product—known as Miracle Mineral Solution, Miracle Mineral Supplement, and MMS—becomes a potent chemical that’s used as a bleach when mixed according to package directions. The agency first warned consumers about the product in July, but federal regulators say it’s still available for sale on the Internet.
FDA says the product is sold by many independent distributors on several websites and through online auctions. Consumers should be alert when buying such an item on the Internet because the product’s labeling, colors, and logos may vary.
According to FDA experts, drinking the amount recommended on product labels can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration. Some labels claim vomiting and diarrhea are not uncommon after the product is ingested—and even maintain such reactions are evidence MMS is working.
