Is it a magic powder?
Research shows that creatine is most effective in high-intensity training and activities that require short bursts of speed. The use of creatine powder has been deemed to generally be safe to use. However, my standard advice applies, talk to your health care professional first since it's not for everyone and it's not without some side effects.

Tips on quick acne solutions
These tips can help reduce the number and severity of your breakouts:
- Washing your skin is essential, but washing too much can actually cause damage by overdrying your skin or irritating existing acne.
- Remember to wash after exercising because sweat can clog your pores and make your acne worse. If you work around greasy food or oil or if you've been sweating from heat or because you've been working hard, wash your face and other acne-prone areas as soon as possible.
- If you use skin products, such as lotions or makeup, look for ones that are noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic, which means that they don't clog pores.
- If you can't live without your hair spray or styling gel, be sure to keep them away from your face as much as possible. Many hair products contain oils that can make acne worse.
- If you get acne on areas such as your chest or back, avoid wearing tight clothes, which can rub and cause irritation.

Study suggests home care answer in cutting costs
Professor Lichtenberg estimates the nation may have saved as much as $25 billion in total hospital payroll costs in 2008 alone thanks to the growth of the home health care sector during the previous 10 years. He pointed out that "it is a reasonable calculation" that further savings will be realized in the years ahead if the use of home care continues to grow.
Funding for the study was provided by Home Instead, Inc., an American-based international franchisor with more than 60,000 trained CAREGivers(SM).

2011 to Be the Year of the Diet
According to Phil Lempert, founder of Food Nutrition & Science and CEO of The Lempert Report and SupermarketGuru.com, 2011 will mark the time when Americans make permanent, positive changes in their diets.
"People will stop demonizing single nutrients or ingredients and begin approaching food more holistically," says Lempert. "Shoppers will circle the aisles seeking foods rich in substance, vitamins, minerals and of course, taste."

Prevent weight gain by eating healthy
"Today, the House took action to tackle the twin challenges of childhood hunger and childhood obesity. Addressing childhood nutrition is a moral issue. It's about our future, our health, and our well-being as a nation. But it is also a matter of our competitiveness and our national security.
"Our future prosperity depends on having a highly-educated, skilled workforce that is ready to compete and get the job done. Yet far too many children in our country are held back by hunger from reaching their full potential. The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is a critical step forward in correcting this injustice and giving all of our youth a healthy choice and a fair shot at a better future. And this landmark legislation brings some common sense back to our school cafeterias and snack machines – and empowers parents to fight the growing epidemic of childhood obesity.
"I applaud my colleagues on both sides of the aisle who voted for this legislation, and I thank the First Lady, Michelle Obama, for shining a bright light on the need to get our students moving and make America's children healthier."

FDA warns consumers about MMS
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the product—known as Miracle Mineral Solution, Miracle Mineral Supplement, and MMS—becomes a potent chemical that’s used as a bleach when mixed according to package directions. The agency first warned consumers about the product in July, but federal regulators say it’s still available for sale on the Internet.
FDA says the product is sold by many independent distributors on several websites and through online auctions. Consumers should be alert when buying such an item on the Internet because the product’s labeling, colors, and logos may vary.
According to FDA experts, drinking the amount recommended on product labels can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration. Some labels claim vomiting and diarrhea are not uncommon after the product is ingested—and even maintain such reactions are evidence MMS is working.
