Sympathy.

Just a quick card before I shoot off to work!

This is the sympathy card I made for my friend after the tragic death of her sister.

I used :-
Flower dies :- Memory Box.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Promarker, pearls, embossing folders, ribbon and Glamour Dust.

I'd like to enter the Pink Elephant challenge :- Sympathy/Thinking of You, with this card.

It's a beautiful morning here, although I did see frost on the grass when I was out with the dogs, so I'm off to hang out my washing.

Catch you all later and thanks for looking.

Simple Sympathy Card.

Hi everyone, I don't know about where you are but it's pretty cold here. Frosty first thing which isn't so bad, could be worse lol! At least the dogs don't get into such a mess when it's frosty. But later on it started to rain. I can hardly see my car now for mud. It's covered! The road near here gets pretty muddy as they need to get silage bales out of a field to feed the cattle indoors. We used to have a farm so it doesn't bother us, though it would be nice to have a clean car for more than a few minutes.

I made a Sympathy card for one of the girls at work. Her father-in-law died suddenly on Sunday. He was rushed into hospital last Tuesday with a heart attack. After lots of tests they discovered a fair amount of damage to his heart. On Wednesday she said he really wanted to make his 91st birthday on Thursday. So he made it! He was quite a character and we'll all miss him.

I used :-
Image :- Penny Black.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Ribbon, black stickles.

Challenges :-
Die Cut Dreams :- Sympathy.
Charisma :- Clean and Simple. Hope it is CAS enough!
Papertake Weekly :- Happy Highlights - I used black stickles to highlight the flowers.

I'm off to do a bit of catching up now and finish off my Tesco home shopping.

Thanks for looking hope you like!

Sympathy Card.

Hi everyone, I've been precaricating for a couple of days over a Sympathy card so I sat down this morning and just got on with it. I've also been making 2 special Christmas cards for my boss, 1 for a grandson and 1 for a great-grandson. Her Mum loved the congrats cards I made when Shonah's grandson was born and wondered about a Christmas card for the baby's first Christmas with great-grandson on it. So I made a couple of cards to let her see. They loved them and wanted one each. I've never had an order before! I'll get them finished tomorrow and let you see  them. I was going out for a meal with the WRI tomorrow but it's been cancelled because of the weather!

Here's my Sympathy card. It's for a customer who's just lost her husband. He was a lovely old man, really nice. He'd been ill more than once this year and had got really frail the last time I saw him. I think a lot of people would be at his funeral as most people here would have known him.

I used :-
2 Background stamps, flower image and sentiment :- Hero Arts.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Ribbon from stash.

I'm a bit disappointed with this photo as you can't really see that the background is stamped with 2 different Hero Arts stamps. It does't show up in the photo but I 3d'd the tulip head and raised up the scalloped rectangle on foam pads too. Unfortunately I can't get a better photo as I've posted the card now!

Hope you like and I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks for looking.

Sympathy Card.

Hi girls, first of all I have some exciting news. I took part in a DT call today for a new challenge blog called Just Cute Bears and would you believe out of all the talented people who applied Ali chose me as one of her new DT. I'm so excited I can hardly type. I was so late posting my card for the DT call that it was in not long before the deadline this afternoon. Not because I didn't have it done just that for one reason or another I didn't get a photo in time to do it before today!! I'm really looking forward to the first challenge which will be next Sunday, 24th January. So put that on your calendars girls and I hope a lot of you will want to join us then. Everyone likes bears, don't they? You can use bears on your cards for anyone, male or female, old or young and for any occasion. So look out your beary images girls and get ready to take part next Sunday.

On to my card now! This evening I have made a couple of Sympathy cards. I'm just posting this one just now. The other one is different but it is proving difficult to photograph!! I'm quite pleased with this card which I made with a gorgeous new Hero Arts stamp. I've coloured the gorgeous flower with Promarkers in cool aqua and cocoa so it fits the Passion for Promarkers challenge. the flower is popped up on sticky pads for a bit of dimension though you wouldn't think it from my photo! The sentiment is also from Hero Arts - I love their cling stamps, they're so easy to use. I embossed a piece of card in my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder which is a bit of a favourite of mine. Then just a ribbon from my stash and some card candy from Craftwork Cards, which I coloured to match the flower. I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday.

The other card I made also uses the same colours but different Hero Arts stamps. I was inspired by a card that the supremely talented Kath made a while ago. Kath's work is fantastic and I never miss checking out her blog.

I'm off to calm down now. I think I will check out my new teamies blogs before I do my ironing. I suppose I will need to iron some clothes for tomorrow. Don't you just love Mondays? It's the only day I work a full day and it's also the busiest. I wouldn't mind if it was just the pensioners as most of them are lovely. It's the scroungers I find it difficult to deal with. The joys of working in the Post Office.

Kat xx
