Thanks Everyone.

Thanks everyone who left suggestions about where I could find some golf images. I've had a look at them all and taken a note of the ones I like best. I liked the male ones and if my colleague likes the one I've made for her Mum she might want one for her Dad who is never off the golf course.

The day after I wrote the post asking where I could find golf images I suddenly realised when I was brushing my teeth that I had a Popcorn Bear golfer image. I think I used it to make a birthday card for my uncle's 90th birthday in 2010. I had a bit of a panic when I couldn't find it. Thought maybe I'd given it away but it was in a drawer I don't often open lol!

So here's the card I made with it. It's not very exciting so I hope she likes it! I hope she doesn't mind the bow as this card will obviously need a large stamp. The 2 I sold on Monday will both need a large stamp. The male one only had a small knot in the ribbon but that's all it needs to stop the envelope going through the letter slot. I'll need to think after this if anyone asks for a card. Belinda probably won't mind as it's a card for her Mum.

I used :-
Image :- Popcorn.
DP :- Craft Creations.
Colouring :- Promarkers.
Sentiment :- Craftwork Cards.

Talking of the difference between letters and large letters I had a bit of a run in with a customer the other day. This particular customer is an obnoxious, arrogant, know-all, little man. He asked if his envelope had enough postage so I reached for the plastic template we are supposed to use for all letters and large letters. It stuck so I told him he needed a large stamp. he accused me of not putting the letter through straight. So I did it again and told him it definitely needed more postage. So he shouted again that I hadn't put it in straight. I said again that I had but picked up the template again and showed him that the letter didn't go through. He insisted that it would so I said it was up to him if he wanted to risk it. Then he insisted I hadn't told him how much more it was. By this time the steam was coming out my ears but I managed to remain polite as I said it was another 29p and stuck the stamps on before giving him his change. If I hadn't done that he would probably have accused me of not sticking on the extra postage and keeping the 29p. As if!! He really is a horrible wee man. The kind that really makes your job worthwhile. To give you an idea of what he's like he came in the "out" door and said to the girl at the till "I thought you were dead!" She was horrified and furious at the same time but didn't bother answering. Not sure why he thought it was clever to say something like that to someone who was minding her own business and getting on with her work. If he'd said that to me he'd have got an answer. And I'm definitely not in the habit of being rude to customers, but there's always a first time!

Enough waffle now I'd best go and catch up with some DT work and see if I can get a card made for Saturday.

Thanks for looking and catch up with you all soon I hope. I didn't get a chance to get near the computer yesterday. Last night was my WRI meeting so after work I had to get my bakes ready for the teas. We had a lady showing us the Faberge style eggs she makes. They were absolutely fabulous. They ranged in size from very tiny (quail I think) to enormous Ostrich eggs. Most of them were very intricately decorated and must have taken many hours of work. We were all very impressed by her skill. I reckon I'm much too clumsy to work with eggs. I got home quite late as she could certainly talk!

Uncle Bill's Birthday Card.

I've not really achieved much on my day off but at least I've got a card made for my lovely Uncle Bill's 90th birthday. Uncle Bill loves his golf so I wanted to do something golf orientated. Luckily I had Popcorn bear with his golf clubs. Unfortunately it is a very big stamp and I didn't have a big enough block. I did find something suitable eventually but the image is so big I struggled a bit wondering how to make a card especially since I thought I'd best make an A5 one. I don't usually make big cards unless it's for a very special occasion. Reckon this is a pretty special occasion though. I found a great sketch from Sketch Saturday which solved my layout problem. I stamped Popcorn 3 times so I could 3d him.

I used :-

Image and sentiment :- Popcorn Bear.

Colouring :- Promarkers and Distress Inks (for edges).

DP :- Craft Creations and Wild Rose Studio.

Buttons, string, ribbon and 90 peeloff from stash.

Challenges I'm entering :-

Sketch Saturday :- Sketch..........

Passion for Promarkers Think of a number.

I'm quite pleased with how this turned out...for once. I took some pics and then realised that I'd forgotten to colour the grass lol! So I had to delete them and take more. Trust me. I've another three cards half made but I'd best check if there are any entries to comment on for my DTs and maybe have a wee look at my favourite blogs.

I'm a lot later sitting down tonight than I'd hoped. My daughter appeared for tea and to do her washing and then she wanted to make meringues so I had to "advise" her about that. I also had to wash the dishes. That might sound strange but I have a dishwasher and it's misbehaving. To say the least! My husband thought it was leaking so he hauled it out yesterday to check. It was! So he mopped up, found a wee hole in the hose and fixed it. Switched it on last night and nothing happened. So I had whole pile of washing this morning. The fridge-freezer in the kitchen has been leaking a bit now and then but he's convinced it was just ice so he removed a lot of ice from the bottom of it yesterday and fingers crossed it's ok. To complete his happiness yesterday he went into the garage and there was water all over the floor in front of the tumble drier!! Luckily it only needed emptied. I haven't been using it because the weather has been so nice but yesterday it rained so I put towels in it. Of course my daughter doesn't hang out washing because it wastes your clothes (???) and she uses the drier when she's out here washing. Silly me I should have remembered that it never occurs to her to empty the water out! At least I don't need a tumble drier or a fridge-freezer but Imight need a dishwasher. Fantastic!! I need to check out the sales.

Sorry to bore you girls especially since I should be doing something more useful lol.

I hope my Uncle Bill likes his card and I hope you like it too. If you could spare a minute to leave me a comment I'd be very grateful. I value the opinions of my fellow crafters. If I ask my husband he always says my cards are really nice! Which is nice of him but a bit biased don't you think?

See you all tomorrow I hope.

Just Cute Bears #1 One for the Girls.

Here we are then girls our first challenge at Just Cute Bears. And it's a great challenge, this week we would like you to make "One for the Girls." How easy is that? I'm sure lots of you have teddy bear stamps of some kind. It would be really nice if you could manage to join in and support us in our first challenge.

This week we are being sponsored by the very talented Kim MacFarlane of Cuddly Buddly Crafts. I'm sure many of you will know about Cuddly Buddly Crafts. They sell rubber stamps, digi images and papers, and lots and lots of other crafting goodies as well.

Here is what Kim is offering for the lucky winner this week. Wish I could enter, I would love this stamp lol!
Here is the card I made for the challenge. I coloured this lovely Popcorn Bear image with Promarkers. I love Popcorn, he is so sweet. Believe it or not this is the first Popcorn Bear I have ever coloured. I have lots of different bears but I think he looks quite special! In honour of our first challenge I've used some of my favourite MME Laundry Line DP. This paper is so gorgeous, it is thick and glittery and beautiful colours. I have layered it on some lovely blue "Gemstones" pearlescent paper. I did a little faux stitching and finished off with some white Prima flowers edged with pink Promarker and card candy from Craftwork Cards coloured with blue Promarker to match.

You can find links in my sidebar for each of my talented teamies so please pop over to their blogs and see their beautiful work. We would all really appreciate it if you have a minute to tell us what you think of our work and the challenge.

So there it is girls a nice easy challenge to start. I'm sure most people have at least one teddy stamp or digi image. I can't wait to see what you make, I know there are a lot of very talented crafters out there. Almost forgot...all entries to be in by 10pm (GMT) on Saturday 30th January.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Kat xx
