Totally Gorjuss 243 - Bling is the Thing.

Good morning everyone. Why does Saturday come around so quickly? I've had another busy week with my knitting and crocheting. I've started another top and I found a cardigan I started in lovely pale yellow Rowan All Seasons Cotton x years ago!! I also managed to get some more squares done for my latest crochet blanket. Next week I have to work full time so I'll get some more done to relieve the boredom.

But you'll probably be wondering where my DT post is. Well if anyone's reading this that is! This week at Totally Gorjuss our theme is "Bling's the Thing."

My card is one of the one's I made for my boss and her Mum for her Aunt's/Sister's Golden Wedding Anniversary. This is the one her Mum chose.

I used :-
Sentiment :- Rubber Stampede.
Embossing Folder :- Couture Creations. (One of my favourite folders.)
Lace :- Ribbon Girl.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Butterfly :- Stampin' Up!
Flower :- EK Success punches.

I'll catch up later.....I hope! This afternoon after work I'm going to make some lemon curd and lime curd. We're having a sales table after church tomorrow in aid of the windows fund. We've been replacing all the windows and this is for the last of them. As you can imagine they have to be specially made and are quite pricey!

Thanks for looking. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Totally Gorjuss 239 - Embossing.

Hi everyone, isn't it nice to be Saturday again and have a chance to have some time to yourself. I hope. I have to work this morning as usual. I feel as if I've never been off work. My lovely freedom is just a memory!

This week at Totally Gorjusswe'd like to see some embossing on your card. We're sponsored by Which Craft UK who are offering £20 to spend on card blanks.

I've been having a spell of making Golden Wedding cards just now. This is the one I made for my lovely brother and sister-in-law who celebrated their anniversary yesterday. I'll show you the other two some other time.

I used :-
Sentiment :- Rubber Stampede.
Embossing folder :- Couture Creations.
Flowers :- EK Success punches.
Butterflies :- Stampin' Up!
Lace :- Ribbon Girl.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Nesties.

I've been knitting a summer top in the gorgeous Debbie Bliss luxury silk print double knitting. The colours are lovely and it's a chevron pattern which suits the yarn perfectly. I never sew up things quickly, in fact I still have an Aran cardigan to sew up which I finished knitting weeks ago! But this time I'm dying to see my top finished so I think I'll sew it up this afternoon. I'll let you see it when it's finished.

Anyway thanks for looking. Catch you all later.

Imagine being married for 50 years!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a sentence doesn't it!? I made this card for a lovely couple who have been happily married for 50 years and I'm sure it doesn't seem like a life sentence to them!

I'm on a rota to drive people to church and I drive Sandy and Jean every month. They're a lovely couple and devoted to each other. When I first knew them they were both officers in the Boys Brigade and Sandy was Captain when my son finished BBs at almost 18. When they had a car it was never any problem to them to give other people a lift so I think it's good that other people now do the same for them.

I just heard the date of their anniversary the day before so my card was a wee bit late as I had other things to do before I could get a card made. They were delighted with it so I'm happy.

I used :-
Sentiment :- Stampin' Up!
Flowers :- Nellie Snellen punches.
Pearls :- Hobby House.
Embossing folder :- Couture Creations - Tied Together.

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. A wee bit fancier than anything I've been making recently!

I'd best go and get a raffle prize organised for my WRI quiz night tonight. I've already wrapped one but I thought maybe I'd wrap up some of my cards as a prize too.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you tomorrow with some cards I made for  a colleague.

Thanks also to everyone who leaves lovely comments which encourage me to carry on blogging.
