Devotional Diatribe

Unusual circumstances have consumed us for the past few weeks. I won't belabor the visitor situation - let me just say that it remains; but will likely resolve by the end of the week.

We had an interesting development with Nigel. Our vet found a growth in his mouth that needed to be removed. Once they got in for a closer look it became clear that a couple of teeth would have to come out. This pleased Sola to no end since she's borne the brunt of a number of redneck jokes around here.

Surprisingly, she did not hold this against Nigel. Instead, when he stumbled home from surgery and climbed on to his perch, she reminded us what truly matters, and I was fortunate enough to have a camera handy when she welcomed Nigel home.

I struggled briefly with my choice of posts for this Thursday. I have another long-winded, ridiculous and thoroughly offensive story to publish: and nothing gives me greater pleasure than launching such horribly written garbage in to the blogosphere and watching followers drop out of my list. But I'll save that guilty pleasure for next week - this week has reminded me that there is one story that never gets old, and that it is again time to observe; and to learn from our dogs. The last three shots look similar but are different - Sola just held her face to Nigel's for what seemed like an eternity.

I will not doctor the series of pictures below with sarcastic cracks, silly cartoon balloons, or peanut gallery comments.

Moments like these require no such accoutrements.

A message of love and dedication this Thursday, from our family to yours.
