cities by the sea - barcelona will broadcast on the german/french TV channel arte on friday 17th of november at 18:30.
they followed me during one day while sketching along the sea front.

malaga

I was invited by luis ruiz this week to participate to a great workshop at the university of malaga: "miradas en la ciudad. urban sketching y street photography", comparing the visions of street photographers as miguel trillo and eduardo d'acosta, and the vision of urban sketchers as inma serrano, clara marta and me.

how do I stretch and warm up?

urban sketchers in liège

last week, gérard michel invited 12 sketchers in liège, belgium, to sketch the city during 4 intense days.
florian afflerbach, simonetta capecchi, fabien denoël, emdé, rené fijten, miguel herranz, antoine michel, gérard michel, corinne raes, luis ruiz, rolf schroeter, inma serrano and I sketched like crazy, to finally exposed around 70 meters of drawings in the "théâtre de liège".
the opening of the exhibition was the last stop of the sketchcrawl organized that day.
the exhibition is running until the 27 of september. if you pass by, don't miss gérard michel's exhibition next door: "liège, jouets de perspectives".

I was interviewed for the german television "ARD" for a program called "so tickt europa" about my vision of barcelona (in the first minutes).

a conversation with danny gregory

perfect timing!
an hour after I received my copy of "an illustrated journey" by danny gregory, danny post this interview on his blog. an hour was not enough to have a good preview of the book, but it looks gorgeous, and it's really well printed.
I will enjoy flipping every page of it over the next evenings, watching the sketches and reading the essays of a wonderful selection of 40 worldwide sketchers…

"an illustrated journey"

danny gregory, author of the upcoming new book "an illustrated journey: inspiration from the private art journals of traveling artists, illustrators and designers" invite me as a contributor. It will be available this month, I can't wait to read all of it!
his past book "an illustrated life" is for me a referent an I'm honoured to be part of his new project.

the french newspaper "la montagne" gave me free hand to illustrate the "rendez-vous du carnet de voyage" in clermont-ferrand. here is what they published last sunday:

thanks again to the organisers, it was a great week end with many good friends, and I came back to barcelona happy but exhausted of the hundreds of portraits I made there…

la montagne

I'm back from "le puy de dôme", the highest volcano around clermont-ferrand, where I was invited with the urban sketchers luis ruiz, gérard michel and emdé to sketch during 3 days the volcano and its new rack-train.

we had a full page in the newspaper "la montagne" and a short interview on "france 3".
the sketches will be exposed at the train station in october and during the "XIIIº rendez-vous du carnet de voyage" in clermont-ferrand, the 16th, 17th and 18th of november.
