Panties.
This week Lemon Cadet is getting a whole new line of panties. Just like with the beans, I'll be listing them whenever the beast is sleeping or with Daddy. We've been experiencing some napping issues so this is the best we can do.
We have some new designs and some old designs in new fabrics. But the best part is that we were able to get some nice quality blank panties in fabulous colors so instead of a hodge podge of various styles and sizes, we now have some consistency.
Please let me know if there is a specific design or style you'd like and we can talk custom.

The Mustache Show
The Mustache Show at Wild Zero Studios was a huge success. I didn't sell any panties but we all had a great time. There were mustache cupcakes, mustache cookies, a dude singing about mustaches, and even a mustacioed fire department official checking for maximum capacity.
That's the gang up there in full regalia. It's crazy how good Brian looks with the mustache. His 'stache looks more real than the one on Eric or Mr. Lemon. Setph [team lemon] is really rockin' with The Rogue. Everyone who didn't come wearing a mustache had to put one on at the door. Eric is selling prints of the framed mustache pics on his myspace. My My
I sent out a big order to Taryn of MY MY. She just opened up a brand new storefront selling all the amazing stuff from her website and a lot of newly acquired handmade goods. The shop's in Hatboro, PA. There are six pairs of panties and six baby/toddler items.
She made me that snazzy little button there on the left to add to my growing "Retail" section. Taryn also has a great online Indie Craft Fair Guide. I'm thrilled to have my stuff at a *real* store, especially one as cool as My My.

Lemon Cadet's the Craftiest Bastard
As many of you know, I've been on vacation this week. While I was away, I was selected by the Washington City Paper as the Craftiest Bastard of the Week. What an honor! The deal is that they choose one of their classified ads to be featured at the top of the page and they write about them to their email list.
They have a lot of ads so it's a big deal to be chosen.
In other news...
Lemon Cadet has finally hunted down a sasquatch. Soon there'll be little Big Foots (Big Feet?) running all over the Etsy shop. These are going to look great on onesies and even better on the white boy shorts style panties I just got in (just a couple of sizes).
Thanks to everyone for their patience while I was away and a special thanks to Char for taking care of the shipping (and the cats!). Wholesale orders are a bit behind but I should have all custom orders out in Tuesday's mail.
Screenshot and heads up provided by TinaSeamonster. Thanks.

Art Star!
Thanks to everyone who came out to see Lemon Cadet at Art Star last weekend in Philadelphia. Whether it was boiling with heat and humidity or chilly with the torrential downpours and wind, the event was still a lot of fun. It was so cool meeting all the people I've "met" online at Etsy. I really appreciate that so many people took the time to stop by.
As you can see in the pic, we had to put down the back wall because it was so windy. By afternoon on Sunday, we had three walls down and the front wall ready to go. For a while people had to use the zipper to get in or out because the weather was so bad. If you are a crafter, I highly recommend a canopy that has three solid walls and one with a zipper in the center.
The bean guy stickers were super popular and I ran out long before the end of the first day and had to fill my basket with a couple of kids tees until the swag bags from the Pittsburgh Craft Mafia arrived. I've been hard at work making more. If you have one of these, make sure you stick it onto paper, not fabric.
And for those of you who missed us, the cat panties will be in the shop later this week.

Wish me luck!
So I've been taking lots of baby steps lately to try and get Lemon Cadet out there. After months of listing new items on Etsy, I've decided to take this to the next level. I've contacted an online magazine, sent a couple of emails to baby stuff blog sites, submitted applications to some juried Indie/DIY craft shows for this summer, and returned emails from stores asking for wholesale orders.
One small leap I took this week was entering Fred Flare's Next Big Thing Contest. Each year the peeps at Fred Flare choose some of the coolest items in craft and design. This year the customers will vote on a favorite and the winner gets $1000. The best 27 entries will get featured in their online shop and have their name and item up in the list of winners for a long time. As of today, there are links to all winners from both 2005 and 2006. That's a lot of publicity. The work of the winners is amazing.
It only cost 5$ so I worked up a snazzy blurb about the fabulous Yeti Panties with the assistance of my elves and submitted it along with my website and a photo. I also found a couple of wholesale suppliers online so if the Yeti Panties do get selected, I'll be ready to go to fill their order. I won't hear anything for months though so keep your fingers crossed until mid-Summer.

Lemon Cadet's yeti is featured with his sea friends!
Today Lemon Cadet's almost famous yeti panties were featured on the fabulous blog, ilikeseamonsters. This blog is authored by a fellow Etsian, tinaseamonster who makes really cool shirts about zombies. I can't wait to put those on the future cadets.
TinaSeamonster has been blogging for a long time now and has recently started featuring other Etsy sellers. She only picks super great stuff so it is a true honor to be featured.
She also mentioned it on the Craft Mutiny blog.
In other YETI news, four new pairs of yeti panties are on their way to the Etsy shop. One is polka dot, one pink stripes, one blue and one solid pink. I have two pairs of white panties that will get beaned later this week. Don't forget that you can get a yeti on your (new) panties too.
The yeti buttons are also now in the shop. As always, our partner website, YetiPanties.com (a division of Lemon Cadet) is still coming soon.

In a large marble hallway
The craft show this weekend at CMU was really fun and a great learning experience. I met a few Etsy people and some other cool crafters. My table was stocked with goods. I ended up making some panties at the last minute because I wanted to have a range of items. I've been planning on adding panties to the Lemon Cadet line for a while now and Bring It! gave me a good reason to get on it.
The table looked great! All the yellow stood out well against the darkness of the stone hallway so I got great feedback on my little guys. Several people asked where I was going to be next. I didn't sell much (and I didn't expect to given the crowd) but I feel much more confident about my line and where to take it. I'm hoping to do some larger shows in Pittsburgh this Summer.
For the next show I need to think about how to display the mirrors and the buttons better. I thought they would sell better since they're so cute and inexpensive. The buttons were pinned on the scout dolls and the mirrors were in a basket on the left of the table. Now that I see the photos I can tell it's hard to even see the mirrors at all. With the buttons, maybe people were afraid to take them off or something.
Next time I'll do it differently. What's funny is that I actually got a few requests for the scout dolls so I'll probably add some to the shop in the upcoming weeks. You never know!
So thanks to everyone who showed up to support Lemon Cadet. Special thanks to Dee and Steph, my trusty helper elves who stayed with me during the day. They are way better promoters of my stuff than I am.
On that note, I'll be adding lots of new items to the shop this week. I have several yeti tees just about ready to go (need to add their little fingers!) and a super cute bug shirt (see him in the photo just above the buttons).
Coming Soon: www.YetiPanties.com, a division of Lemon Cadet!
