TLT - Pinky's Challenge - Something With Wings

LOL...no you're not going daft, Pinky has left the Ladybugs but she had already chosen the challenge so in her honor we're going with it!

I haven't had a chance to look at any of your entries since I've been back but I KNOW they were megamazing cuz they always are lol. Thank you to everyone who entered and congratulations to all the winners. Swing by the Challenge blog to see if you are one of them.

As I said although Pinky is a retired Ladybug she had already chosen today's challenge of Something With Wings and this is what I did...

It might not be obvious but the ladybugs are my things with wings :-D You can't tell from the pictures but there is LOTS of Glamour Dust on the flowers and Glossy Accents on the water with a touch of GD for sparkle. I needed to be quick so only coloured the ladybugs.

So I made it back from my holiday in Turkey in one piece despite finding a black feather sticking up from the crack in my back steps! Not sure if any of you are superstitious but I always thought finding a black feather on your doorstep meant death. I had a bit of a panic as we were flying out later that day but I remembered I had googled 'finding a black feather on your doorstep' a while back and 4 out of 5 answers were a bit doom and gloom and one really positive so I went with that one!

We had a relaxing time and although the weather was mixed with rain, sunshine and cloud we managed to come back with tans. I didn't want to get too dark (I was mistaken for an Aborigine once when I was in Australia!) so I sat in the shade quite a bit and slapped my SPF 15 and 30 on regularly. Here are a few pictures...

View from our loungers

View from our room

I was trying to take pictures of the lightening but I wasn't quick enough on the trigger

Yours truly

This is the main pool

This was the carpet in the corridors and bedrooms and I loved the colours so watch out for a card with something similar ;-D

This was in the taxi taking us to the airport and of course I just had to take a picture lol. A few of you might remember the wrapping paper I used for my birfday candy was identical to the fabric on this doll. She was being used for tips.

Tomorrow we leave for Ireland for the wedding...OMG I can't believe it's almost here!!! Please cross your fingers that we don't forget anything and we have a dry day. I can't wait to see Nicole walk down the aisle and I'll have my kleenex at the ready! I'm looking forward to seeing all our friends and family under one roof and catching up with all the friends I've neglected over the last few months lol.

Next time you hear from me I'm going to be a MIL!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

It's my mom's birthday today...she's 73 but don't tell her I told you!! This was taken on her 70th when I went home and surprised her...we had a great week :-D TBH she doesn't look any different three years later and I just hope I look half as good when I'm 50 let alone 70!!

Confession time...I only mailed her card and prezzie yesterday {blush} but I KNOW when she opens her prezzie she'll forgive me lol. I won't tell you what it is because she reads my blog occasionally...I don't mind her seeing her card though since she won't get it until next week.

I decided to ink a stamp I hadn't used in a while and Tulip Ruby was the winner. Let me know what you think....

I coloured Ruby in with my Copics ... she was sitting on grass but I didn't like it so ended up cutting her out! I found a card that Mary J sent me and I loved the LO so I cased some of it and tweaked the rest. I cut cs and pp scalloped circles with my Grand Nesties and JT, trimmed them to the edge of the card and stitched them together. I cut a square of cs and a slightly smaller square of pp and stitched the edges. I embossed a white circle, stitched it to a kraft cs fancy circle then mounted Ruby with sticky fixers. I stuck everything together THEN with my NEW mini glue gun fixed a fabulicious Loopy Flower to the bottom left and OMG... I used my new Flourish die!!! I sent a picture of the card to Suzy Q to see what she thought...got a text back asking what that THING was in the top right corner hmph! It is my first flourish and I guess it kinda looks like I was desperate to use one the way it's sitting but TBH I WAS lololol.

What do you really think of that THING?? Are the pearls too much?

Bestill my heart...I adore this colour...

I'd love to enter my card in the following challenges...

Crafts and Me Challenge - Pearls and Swirls
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Fab n' Funky Challenges - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes

If you're reading this Judy I'm sorry your card and prezzie are late but I promise it'll be worth the wait lol. Love you mom xx

TLT - My Challenge - Fairies

Well hello everyone...glad you've made it back to another TLT. So what about the blog hop??? Judging by the comments you guys had a lot of fun lol. I know we had fun reading them and picking the winners...and boy were there a lot of them! Make sure you check the Challenge Blog to see if you've won some Ladybug Candy or the Blog Hop prizes OR the Challenge prizes! I told you there were a lot lol.
The winner of my candy is.... Marianne!!!
Congratulations Marianne...email me with your address and I'll get your prize (and surprise!) off to you asap.
Now for today's challenge of Fairies chose by Moi lol.
When I was at the craft fair at the SECC last month I picked up some Shake It shaker card pouches on a stand that had some gorgeous ornaments ... I'm annoyed I didn't take pictures so I kinda just winged it lol. See what you think...

I chose the gorgeous Ice Skating Ruby to go in my shaker. I stamped her twice on PTI cs and coloured them in with my Copics adding a bit of Glamour Dust to her wings and mountains and snow glitter to her coat and hat. After cutting both images with circle Nesties I strung some invisible thread between the two images. I placed the images in one half of the shaker pouch, added a bit of irredescent snow glitter and tried (and failed) to glue the two pouch halves together with Glossy Accents. I ended up using strips of double sided tape to stick them together which worked a treat :-D  I cut out two fancy die cuts with my Nesties then cut a circle out of the middle of these for the pouch to go through. Once that was done I taped the other side of the fancy die cut to the other side, added the bow at the top, the Swarovski crystals around the edges and the sentiment at the bottom.

Not a great picture but I wanted to show you the depth of the pouch.

I'll definitely be hanging this on my tree...might even make another one or two!

The DT have been busy and I can promise you nothing but stunnalicious inspiration! We'd love to see your fairy creations so why not enter our challenge?

Thanks for stopping by today

VERY Last Minute Annie!

You all know by now that I've been pretty late with birthdays recently but I think this one takes the cake! It was my friend Jean's birthday May 16 and although I was in Vancouver at the time I did have the intention of making her card and getting Nicole to mail it closer to the day. Well, you'll know that didn't happen and since I've been home I've been playing catch up KWIM. We finally had a lunch date for Thursday just past and there was NO WAY I was arriving without Jean's card so once I dropped the dogs off at doggy daycare I came home and set to work. Yup, you read right...I made it 2 hours before we were due to meet!!! I know Jean will be reading this and I am hanging my head in shame but thankfully she knows what I'm like (though she did say when I gave it to her that when she'd been reading my blog and was seeing cards for OTHER's being made she wondered if she'd EVER get one lol) and is very forgiving and I do pay her handsomely to be my friend...ok that last one isn't true lol.

So having only 2 hours (that's quick for me!) this is what I came up with...

Balloon Ruby hadn't seen ink in ages so she got inked and coloured up.

It's amazing what you see when you PS pictures...like how bad your colouring is! This isn't one of my finest but as I am shaming myself I thought I might as well show you. Don't even get me started with the balloon!

THIS I'm proud of...look at that sewing! I cut a thin piece of card and zigzagged over it and it turned out pretty darn good IMHO!

It had been a good few months since we'd met up so we had a lot of catching up to do. We have a great friendship where we just pick up where we left off which I think are the best friendships to have :-D

My followers are creeping up and I am so delighted and thankful...do you think we can make it to 300??? Just kidding lol.

Have a great weekend

TLT - Sue's Challenge - Summer Birthday's - and OMG!!!

I'm going to have to say an almighty OMG...I've done it!!! You've done it!!! We've done it!!! What is IT??? IT is 201 followers yeeeeeee hawwwwwww lol!!!! The internet has been awful for days now so sometimes I can log on and sometimes I can't then sometimes I can see my followers and sometimes I can't so it was fabulicious to see that amazing number when I finally managed to log on. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you have signed up...I KNOW it has nothing to do with the blog candy at all  {wink} I'm so giddy I can't even get all your names straight so for now I just want to that ALL of you that have become followers (BTW...there's no going back...you cannot UN-follow me lol) I hope you're loving the candy...you'll notice that today's picture has been moved from the photo tent...just not enough room...it was bulging at the seams lol.

Ok...better get back to today's post. What was today's post again??? Oh yeah...I didn't forget...just yankin' your chains lol (yup...still giddy :-D). Of course, it's TLT and it's Sue's Challenge and it's Summer Birthday's. Most probably cuz it was her birthday at the weekend :-D Summer birthdays..hmmm what do you think of when you think Summer Birthday's? Well I thought of Cupcake Ruby and so did a few of the other girls...in fact I think we should have called the challenge The Ruby Fairy Challenge!

I killed two birds with one stone (not literally) and made Sue's birthday card with TLT in mind...well, it is a summer birthday. Here you go...tell me what you think...

I picked up a couple of sheets of this fabulicious pp at Craft World the other day...think it's Echo Park.

Here is madam all coloured and sparkled up. I'm thinking the highlights in her hair are a bit low. I'm going to have to get a lesson off Tams now she's been proper taught and all :-D

How megamazing does Ruby's cupcake look with the micro beads! MP's gonna LOVE it!

You're probably wondering what the heck you're looking at here but it's the green and pink mounts. I cut both colours out but couldn't decide which one to use so used them both!

Isn't that pp yummalicious! But it's the sentiment you're lookin' at here

I must apologise....this post is ultra giddy but hopefully as the day goes on I'll calm down :-D

Thanks to everyone who joined us last week on the hop and for your lovely comments. And you know what comments means? Prizes!!! That's right there were prizes to be won so make sure you check to see if you're a winner and if you're the GRAND prize winner email me with where you'd like me to send them and if you've won a stamp of your choice do the same as the grand prize winner but also tell me which one of the new Christmas Jack and Robyn releases you'd like....simple!

The DT have got some flabulous inspiration for you so have a looksee and spread some ladybug love :-D

I almost forgot, because it's summer and people are away for their hols and just busy in general, July and August's Challenges are running for a month so you have plenty of time and NO excuses not to enter them lol. But don't worry, we'll still be posting but maybe just not as often. I have plans to do some major clearing out of cupboards throughout the house...mainly my craft room!

Ok...I'm checkin' outta here cuz I'm even making myself sick!

Perth Workshop

It was a glorious day yesterday...stunning really and hot. When I say hot I mean HOT! The best day of the year here in Scotland by far and what did I do? Stayed inside!  It was for a good reason as I had a workshop but I did feel really bad for the girls having to stay indoors for 4 hours and am thankful they didn't decide to go to the beach instead. Mind you I think some of them might have wish they had once we got under way with the first project lol. I decided to start off with a double twist easel card which on hindsight was perhaps not a good thing but there's nothing like throwing them in at the deep end! With all good intentions I typed up an instruction sheet and I think that's where the confusion started but we got there in the end. I had a great time...we had prizes and the committee made a gorgeous lunch (note to my cropping girls...don't expect that from your committee ie me lol...you'll have to make due with your apple and cinnamon scones!) Speaking of scones, Catherine made gorgeous ones with jam and cream. I took two home with me but I'm afraid they didn't make it to the 2nd traffic light lol.

Here's a peek at the girls at work...

This is Catherine (who originally emailed me) on the left and Irene...both on the committee.

First project...which was part of the blog hop and...

We did a note tin with Daydreaming Ruby on the lid....

and these are the notecards. I have to say this project went down much better lol.

They all said they enjoyed the day...I hope they did and maybe one day once they get over the stress and trauma of the double twist easel card they'll ask me back!!!

All that's left to say is thanks for having me ladies :-D

Frazzled!

What is it with men and airports? They don't want to be in them any longer than they need to even if they're the ones catching the flight. My mil finally had her long awaited back operation and the hubster flew to Dublin this morning to spend a few days with her. The flight was at 11:35 so I got up early and met Lynn and Suzy Q at CB with the dogs...came back to report we only had 5 miles left of gas which was a hint that maybe we should leave earlier than the 10am plan to fill up. As we were driving up to the closest gas station I noticed we weren't slowing down to pull in. I pointed out the GS only to be told there's one up on the left. Racking my brain (which didn't take long because there's not a lot in it these days!) the closest one to the left was miles away. To cut a long story short we did manage to get to a GS with 0 miles in the tank and we did manage to get to the airport with about 20 minutes before the gates shut! No wonder I dye my hair hmph.

Of course I had to make mil a card and this is what I came up with...

You should know by now that Daydreaming Ruby is my favourite (though I say it quietly so I don't upset the others) and I thought she'd be perfect for a get well card. I used my flantastic new pp from BG again...why oh why did I only buy one sheet of each???...and a sketch from one of our previous challenges. I love my new rolled daisy flower die and made the flower with one of Tam's gifts stuck in the middle.

Can you see why she's my favourite???

OMG...isn't this flower megamazing??!!! I added a bit of GD to the bud in the middle

I don't know if you can tell but I kinda curved the sentiment so it looks a bit like a flag waving in the wind...I really like this for a change from it laying flat.

Here's that scrumptious flower again and you can just about make out the waving sentiment

The inside has been Mary J'd

I hope she likes it. My sil LOVED the 25th anniversary card I sent ... it took 10 days to get to Dublin...what's that all about??!!! Even if I had of mailed it on time it still would have been late hmph!

Have you seen the latest addition to the Blogaversary candy? So far there's the KI Memories pad, ribbon, square tin, Scor-bug and tonday's entry....some self adhesive gems! And on that note I'd like to welcome 2 new followers Uta and Inny...welcome aboard girls :-D Inny was a winner from Michelle's Make It Monday Linky party I sponsored while I was home last month. I emailed to say I was away and would send her chosen stamp once I got back in the UK. I got an email from Inny last night to say that the stamp had arrived and thank you very much but I'd already sent it AND she had replied to say thank you very much she had received it lol. Well that just shows you that what I said about not taking long to rack my brain is absolutely 100% true!!!

I haven't given you an update on The Canucks lately...probably because after they won the first two games in Vancouver, they then went to Boston and lost the next two games 8-0 and 4-0!!!! Well I wasn't going to brag about that now was I lol. Thank goodness they are back to their winning ways because last night they won 1-0 back in Vancouver woot woot. They now have to go back to Boston and play tomorrow and if they win then they've won the Stanley Cup, if they lose it goes to the last game of the series and (best out of 7) and whoever wins wins! I spoke to DLS yesterday and she said a sports company EA or was it AE??? Anyway they predicted before the season started last year that Vancouver and Boston would be in the final and Vancouver would win the SC in the 7th game. Apparently they've made a lot of these kind of predictions before and have only been wrong once! Let's hope they're right again :-D

Ok...I've got to go make a card for my mate Lynn...she's asked for the same wedding card I made in my last post and I haven't even started yet (if you're reading this Lynn don't panic...you'll get it in time for the wedding!). Annette popped in earlier for a spot of shopping in the LCI Boutique and we had to have a catch up...well it would have been rude not to lol!!!

Have a great Saturday. Don't forget to leave a comment if you want a chance to win the candy and if you're a new follower make sure you mention it so you don't miss out on the prize :-D

A Spoonful of Sugar...

...helps the medicine go down! Not only that but it's also a flabulous Challenge Blog aka ASOS and I was asked by one of their lovely DT's who happens to be one of MY lovely DT's, Mary J, if I would sponsor this weeks challenge and of course I said yes :-D

The theme was chosen by Mary J and is 'A Right Royal Knees Up'....Perfect since I believe there might be a big wedding this week lol! It doesn't have to be a wedding card though, it can be anything to do with Royalty...Prince, Princess, frogs even!!! I decided to play along and this is what I came up with...

 Meet Princess Ruby lol...

Ok...I know Shopping Ruby isn't a REAL princess but SHE thinks she is with her tiara lol

Make sure you check out A Spoonful of Sugar makes because they are one bunch of seriously talented ladies over there!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenge:
