Day of Rest: A Few Weekend Pix

Blue skies and tree yesterday in my back yard:

Short Old Lady Story of this tree: No, I don't know what kind of tree it is. These appear to be some kind of nut. They're pretty, but they drop down and it's like standing under a spray of ball bearings. I know, right? Ouch.

Down on Fisherman Willie's lot.

Overall Bridge thru heart shape of trees.  :-)

River reflection.

Reflection of moon in water.

This a.m.'s sunrise. I was up v. early because SOMEbody was howling in her sleep.

Day of Rest

I think I can safely say that I'm not the only one ready for winter to be over! This is one of my favourite sights when I walk down to my postbox in the summer . . .

Fisherman Willie. :-)

When you're in the middle of the cold, you can use your summer memories to keep warm.

Confederate Snowstorm 2009

Went for a walk Sunday a.m. Neighbor Dave plowed on Sat. so it was only a foot to walk thru down the road!

Down my road.

What you don't experience is the exquisite silence. Snow softens and blankets the noise.

So that when I stopped to take this picture, I could hear the creek across the river babbling.

Down my road . . .

to the river. BEAUTIFUL.

Quote of the Day

The leaves look like ripples of water. Cool. See the heart?

Just learnt: tea made from birch leaves is gout remedy.

Those who dwell
among the beauties
and mysteries
of the earth
are never alone
or weary of life.

Down by the river

One of my favourite things to see is Fisherman Willie . . . fishin'

What a catch!

This is from last summer: a 12-lb. catfish that I caught, but when Willie said I had to put my hands in its mouth to get a picture--well, you see there are no pictures of me with the fish! Another GLORIOUS day here in the wilderness--the smell of wild roses is wafting into my living room with a nice breezy breeze. :-)

P.S. I almost forgot (haha) Have a GREAT Memorial Day weekend!

Day of Rest: Down by the River

Hi Sweetie

We've had quite a bit of rain which means that my internet service is inconsistent. Yesterday, I couldn't get anything posted. Today: so far, so good! This is a shot down by the river. I was on the way to the postbox and here she comes....so sweet. Back tomorrow with a movie review of My Best Friend's Girl.
