Kristmas Kollection is finished.  I just love how the bows and ricrac with the stripe made this project even more special.

Here is a close up.  Don't you agree?

I finished Komplex Kontents too!  It looks perfect in the space I made it to fill.

Now just need to get Cinnamon Spice off my design wall and in to the hands of Kerry!  Hope you are having a very special week.

The last three blocks were finished and row assembly has begun.  Currently the name for this project is Kumin.  Any other ideas out there?

DH and I did a lot of fun things this weekend.  Friday it was La Jolla beach walking and lunch.  Saturday it was Pt. Loma and lunch.  Sunday was set aside for binding and football.  Needless to say little machine sewing, but I did get Kristmas Kollection finished!

This was after the ric rac was sewn in place.  The binding was ready to sew next.  A photo of the finished project will be next for you to admire.

There's nothing this week to change stats.

Cinnamon Spice is further along than this photo shows.  I have another three blocks almost done, but can't get on the design wall to share with you.  I had thought to finish this yesterday, but no.  This one will finish this week.  Excited to change my stash number next week.  Any suggestions for a name?

I realized much later than I'd wanted that the Sunshine October BOM was needing to be sewn for the meeting tomorrow.  I whipped it up in no time.  Thank goodness it worked out that way.

As it turned out not many participated in the BOM, but I WON!  I even drew my own name as the winner.  Surprise, surprise =^.^=.  I have made the Bonnie Hunter project using different backgrounds (Kreppy Kins) so this will be fun to make something smaller with, well we shall see, black print backgrounds.  Wish there had been more participation...what's going on Sunshine Quilters?

DH helped with the math to make a version of Bringing Home the Christmas Tree by Lori Holt into a 3/5s scaled down version.  I just don't need another big project!  I have test blocks of the trees and the car with the trees on it's roof.  If they work out, which I'm pretty certain will, I'll be making my project in red and black cars and the same bright trees that are in the original design.  I'm quite anxious to get this one going.  Another one needing help with a name...

There has been a question in my mind about using the pinks in Bonnie Hunter's 2021 Winter Mystery.  I like pinks, but think I might be happier with another color way.  I don't often veer off from her color selections, but may happen this time.  I surfaced a backing from my stash and found that most of the colors except the pinks are present.  Instead of the pinks are salmon and orange.  The Quiltville Blog shows other going in this direction so that's my present thinking.  I'd love to use up this backing from a purchase on a SD Shop Hop so many years ago.  It from a purchase a shop since closed in Chula Vista, CA.  This one too with a "K" name!

Skip forward a bit to Tuesday night when I had a chance to purchase chances on Beach Cities Quilt Guild 2022 Opportunity Quilt.  Isn't this a lovely?  I've got my stake entered...wish me luck!

So this week has me working on the scaled down  Bringing Home the Christmas Tree and binding Kristmas Kollection.   Next week I'll share the recently completed Komplex Kontents and hopefully the bound Kristmas Kollection (rick rack and all).

We've turned the clocks in San Diego...getting darker so early now.  Although we will be in for a hot weekend the weather for the most part is cooler.  Hope you have a terrific week whatever you choose to do.  =^.^=

Kristmas Kollection is finished!  Wish I could say a 2021 UFO is complete; although I spent much time working on it...not one on the list to finish this year.  The bows in the outside border added a very nice touch.  I will come back to this idea in the future.  This project that is also known as Vintage Christmas by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet was lots of fun to make.  I have enough of the bottom right block and fabrics to make something more, which I certainly will be doing.  Kristmas Kollection goes in the mail to Kerry tomorrow!

Oh and those who wanted to participate in the Westwood Acres Cinnamon Spice Sew Along it never happened.  At least this is from what I have been able to find.  I have checked the YouTube channel since 10/21 when Amanda claimed she'd start...but nothing.  Suppose I will be doing this on my own.

Now with so many project I want to work on next...I will be choosing from a pull from the hat by DH.  Not sure what you will see me working on next!  Will it be:  Winter Blues, Cinnamon Spice, Bringing Home the Christmas Tree 2021 UFO, Hocus Pocus, Koastline (Michigan), or Autumn Love?  What is most real exciting is changing my stats this week with the finish of Kristmas Kollection!  Finally in the BLACK.

Kissing Kristmas is finished.  I just love how it turned out.  Now I'm anxious to get busy on the applique of Michigan, the other Laundry Basket Quilts project in blues that I worked on about the same time as Kissing Kristmas.  This one is sure to be displayed this year during the holidays.

I did get two packages this week.  The first came with Aurifil threads that I had been waiting on from Red Rock Threads located in Pahrump, NV.  The second from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop.  A fun Spooky Box with all kinds of goodies inside.  Not likely that I will make the pattern that came with FQs and what you need more to make it.  I have several Halloween projects coming up from patterns and fabric kits already purchased.
Vintage Christmas which I will be calling Kristmas Kollection has all its embroidery done.  I have some block pressing to do before each row is assembled.  I will be working on it this week for...hopefully a completion this time next week.

Friday there was a lovely Birthday lunch given me by several of my good friends.  I was so surprised how many were able to be there.  I am really blessed to have such wonderful friends.

I got all my goals made last Monday done.  Now to put Kristmas Kollection together and begin Cinnamon Spice on Thursday with Westwood Acres Quilt Along.  For me it is back to the office full time starting tomorrow.  No changes to the numbers this week.

The rest of Sunday and this week I will be working on cutting fabrics for several quilts along with some embroidery and binding of Kissing Kristmas.  Now that is a jam packed week=^.^=

These first two photos are fabrics being considered for Cinnamon Spice a project by Amanda Woodruff of Westwood Acres also known as Sonnet.  Amanda will be running a sew along on Instagram and Youtube starting October 21!  Get on Westwood Acres mailing list if you are interested to get more about her kit and pattern.

Next up is Bringing Home the Christmas Tree a 2021 UFO.  I've finished what fabrics will be used for Kristmas Kollection so the scraps are bounty for the trees in this project.  I'm going to make it a smaller version by sizing the pieces 1/2" smaller.  My cars will be red and black textured prints...or at least that is my plan.

Winter Blues by Bonnie Hunter is one of her new patterns.  Mom has been giving me scraps and along with mine there should be no shortage of blues and neutrals.

I shared with you Hocus Pocus by Joanna Figeroa of Fig Tree Fabrics.  I have it all cut so who knows some pumpkins might be on my sewing table before the week is out.  It is after all the month for pumpkins!

Finally you know that Kristmas Kollection embroidery will be going on and perhaps the borders complete with the red bows!  This one is by Lori Holt called Vintage Christmas.

Yep it does sound like a lot, but one must set their goals high!  Enjoy your week and sew to your hearts content=^.^=

Sunday Stash Report, October 10, 2021

Komplex Kontents is a project started in April 2017.  It was intended to be a long term project from the start.  I would stitch two blocks going and coming from trips to the east coast.  The first two blocks were the trip to celebrate Tiffany and Matt's wedding day.  I'm thrilled by how it turned out.  I made the border with mitered corners to create the "frame" affect that is designers name Fit to Frame by Lori Smith of My Heart to Your Hands.  It is a 2019 UFO.

Kissing Kristmas arrived this past week from Kerry.  I just love all the hard work she put into it.  Pebble and berry quilting design patterns are my favorite and this one has hand guided pebble designs throughout the border, in and around all the applique.  You may remember that I used the Avery labels method first time on this design called Mistletoe by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.  It is a 2021 UFO.  I'll be sure to share the finished quilt once the binding/sleeve/label are in place.

Kristmas Kollection has all the blocks sewn with the exception of the touches here and there on some of the blocks that need embroidery.  I will be working on this during the week ahead.  The first photo shows half the project and the rest of the sashing from Month 7.  The next photo shows what still needs to go on the wall!  Finally, the blocks of Month 6.  I have all the fabrics now from Stitchin Heaven BOM now.  Once the embroidery work is done the rest is not too far off.

Finally a few yards to turn the numbers this week.  Thanks to Kerry I have a gift card to get something fun from Fat Quarter Quilt Shop...wonder what that will be =^.^=

Month 5 blocks were easy ones.  Not sure the one on the bottom left is a poinsettia, but that is what the designer says it is =^.^=

Up until the Toy Soldier block the Puppy block had been the most difficult!  I have a Toy Train to stitch next.  Two more blocks to finish before Month 6 is done.

During TV watching, we are currently watching Star Trek Discovery, I have been cutting out for Hocus Pocus.  Friday evening was marking the lines on what will be HSTs.  Lots of them, all done now.  This will be my next project after Kristmas Kollection.

Have a wonderful week ahead!  Happy Birthday today to my twin nieces Leah and Sabrina.  Mine is tomorrow and my Sister is Thursday.  October is a busy month for my family!

Sunday Stash Report, October 3 2021

This is the last block, Toy Soldiers, that has been made.  I have Month 5 blocks finished and four of Month 6.  Only one more month of blocks to stitch before adding the sashing and borders.  Here are a few of what were stitched in Month 5 and now Month 6.  Oh I have decided on a name for this project, Kristmas Kollection (Vintage Christmas).  According to my website searches collection is associated to vintage.

To add to my stash is one yard of fabric for the borders of Fit To Frame.  This project now has a name too. Komplex Kontents...well it was complex and contents are what will be in my frame.  Since I was away this past weekend I didn't get to sewing the borders on.  I will be doing that this week.
